Unlocking S4 with Android 4.3 on 3 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got a S4 that's locked to 3 which is also running Android 4.3
I have tried this: [GUIDE] Galaxy S4 Sim-Unlocking - xda-developers, no joy as I fail at point 4 and do not get into the menu
I then tried this: how to access UMTS if you cant access UMTS menu on Galaxy s4 - xda-developers but this also did not work
Someone suggested the main problem is the phone is running 4.3
Baseband number: i9505xxuemk9
Any thoughts or help

If your "service menu" doesn't work you have to install omega rom 20 to access it.

[Q] GS4 Active not working with utility

Having trouble getting the root exploit to work on an AT&T Galaxy S4 Active (blue) Model # SGH-1357. I am using the "l545 ALL-IN-ONE TOOL ROOT + RECOVERY INSTALLER."
The utility already worked on my GF's Verizon GS4. New drivers were used for the active. Gets to the utility where you uncheck f and select tar file, press start. Phone and utility both say fail.

Root is unavailable for the Active as of now. The root tool you are using is not working because we have a locked bootloader.

Yes, and the s4 does too. But there is an exploit to get around the bootloader on the s4 but not the Active.

Geohot.com/activeroot Is where you can find the root solution. Still no bootloader remedy.

I recently flashed my N9005 and now i cant access LTE network option from menu. It was there before I flash now its not.
Again I tried flashing and went to network option menu.. i can see the LTE option there but after while it goes away..
any solutions? thanx

But I saw someone on xda saying n9005 lacks lte and will be available in an update. Do a search I think you will get to that thread.

press menu button and go to tools. then scroll down.. you'l see an option called root explorer. enable it.. then ur good to go..

[Q] NOOB trying to unlock AT&T S4

I have an AT&T Galaxy S 4, SGH-I337 running Android 4.4.2 and I want to unlock it. I haven't had any luck with doing it my self through the Service Menu, I guess due to KitKat.
My question is If I use Towelroot to root my phone, will I be able to unlock my phone and use on T-Mobile?
