Had my note 3 for a few weeks now and dlna was working perfect with my ps3 till yesterday, now when I play a movie on ps3 after 5 mins the sound stops but the movie plays then the picture will stop and the sound will start and catchup to the picture then it plays as normal, I'm stock unrooted, downloaded a 3 party dlna app and it streams perfect but I want to use stock dlna streamer, can anybody help?

When i connect my phone to my ps3 through media server i am able to play music but not movies. I put the movie on a hard drive and my ps3 recognozes it and plays the movie. Was wondering if anyone knew what my problem could be?
The media sever video functionality is not too great.I managed to play videos in my PS3 but they were laggy or they played out of sync.

I spent some of the $25 google gave me on some play store stuff including, plex, bubbleUpnp, and already had imediashare. For rendering i've got n7, galaxy nexus and an un55d7050 tv. Media players include vlc, mx player, and weeded out a couple that I didn't have much luck with.
What works best for me, the easiest, and least amount of dicking around is a combination of MX Player and BubbleUpnp. I'm streaming from an NAS on my home lan and everythig else is visible on the lan.
To make this work you'll have to screw around with handbreak (or at least I had to) to figure out what codec works best depending on what your streaming and to which renderer.
Good Luck!
Edit/ Twonky Media Server works really good as well, installed to my NAS......Yup, everything these days is pretty much dlna capable.
I'm trying to play videos from my humax freeview recorder on my note 10.1 but everything I've tried so far has choppy playback.
I can get good playback on my HTC Desire S using Skifta and VLC, VLC also works fine on the PC. So it's not a problem with the Humax. Even the IPad plays the videos ok.
Anyone got a suggestion on what will play via dlna smoothly on the note?

Turns out the problem is the JB update,
Downgraded to ICS and it works perfectly.
I was running the German JB update, might try to update with the uk OTA as it's offering that now and see how I go.
Upgraded to JB via Kies and everthings ok still

I'm thinking of getting a chromecast dongle for my tv and just wanted to check some info first.
1. I want to wireless send video to my TV
2. I use showbox & mobdro and mxplayer will these work and is it smooth?
3. Will it also wireless play audio from poweramp?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kev

I think in general you're barking up the wrong tree. The way chrome cast works is it pulls content directly from the Internet. What you're describing is like Apple Air Play (or some such thing).
Chrome cast is great, but really your device acts like a controller, that's why only certain apps are supported, because the chrome cast has to run them "onboard" so to speak. I use it with Netflix a lot.
Hope that helps.

Never tried poweramp but showbox will stream to it. Just make sure youe media player is allcast or Avia. Never had an issue with either or showbox

Nope, MX player works but you can't play natively from the app, at least I haven't played around and found a way yet..
Maybe VLC could do what you want? Haven't tried it though, but usually it's pretty capable.
Thanks for repaly ,i tried mx player and vlc and its working but i cant send movie to the tv with srt subtitle . On stock player on note 2 is working . I herd that on note 3 was same problem and that they changed some lines in system but i dont know is it work on note 4
