Themes without root - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody. When I bought my note 3 it's firmware was already mj7, so with blocked bootloader. I didn't root it yet, but I would like to try some of the beautiful themes developed for our loved note 3. Is there anyone or any possibility to flash them with the stock recovery and without root?

There is no way to flash theme for unrooted phones if am not mistaken, but you always could try vanilla android appearance by installing Nova or Apex luncher which gives you the ability to customize and change the icons and the animations on these launchers.
Hope it helps

Jwr66v to Jwr66v, something strange

Hi all,
Today after many days with the notification of the update to jwr66y on my stock, rooted and with franco kernel and twrp device, it rebooted without any reason and apply the update.
Now... An ota can't be applied without stock kernel and stock recovery as I remember. Or am I wrong?

Right.
Just unroot, apply stock kernel and flash the 4.3.
Then reroot and flash any kernel you like.

Thanks for reply, but I have not expressed well.
I mean: my n4 rebooted and updated the rom alone. Now n4 have jwr66y but I never started update process.
How this is possible? I've a modded kernel and twrp.
N4 rebooted into twrp and updated my stock rom.
Ps: sorry, in title the second "JWR66V" must be "JWR66Y "

Why is this strange to you?
I also had only custom kernel and recovery with stock rom and also discovered one day that I was in bootloop cause my system autoupdated!
Fortunately I had one backup and after flashed it I returned to previous situation.
Finally I decided to flash myself the 4.3, just to get away from the stupid notification.
I don't know. As I remember ota update have something that prevent "wrong" update and check kernel and recovery.

You can backup apps by Titanium Backup or Helium. Backup launcher configuration is more difficult. You can use launcher which supports backups (Nova or Apex) and import data from existing launcher. Nova Beta launcher on KitKat is very nice, supports 4.4 transparency. If you want use the new Google Experience Launcher than propably you can not backup data to this launcher.
After backup flash factory image or custom KitKat rom, SuperSU (for TitaniumBackup).

Can we dual boot on kitkakt?

Hi all

After installing custom rom, how to install moto apps?

Can anybody help me, since i could not find any moto apps that were installed in my MXP. And when trying to search for it, it did not have many moto apps like the stock rom had before.
u can install only camera and gallery. the other apps are not suported on custom roms.

OJ2 LP and custom 4.4 rom

Hi guys, can i install a custom 4.4 ROM having already upgraded my original firmware to samsung OJ2 (5.0.1 LP) ?
I know that is not possibile to downgrade to 4.4 Samsung due to the bootloader, just asking myself if the dame rule applies to a custom 4.4 (cm or other)
Thanks in advance

The only way to really know is to try it. I recommend flashing TWRP, creating a nandroid backup, and flash the custom ROM.
You may be able to downgrade from stock 5.01 to stock 4.4.2. This can be done on the sgh-i337m which is the Canadian version of the s4 with a snapdragon processor.
