IMPORTANT FOR i9100g cm 11 developers - Galaxy S II General

Hi there
there has been a problem with touch screen drivers in i9100g on android version following ICS i.e JB and KK
the problem is stated briefly in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147306
some none developers GOOD guys managed to find a solution buy updating the touch screen drivers from an update provided by sumsung here http://opensource.samsung.com/ the updated driver is named (GT-I9100G_CHN_JB_Opensource_Update1)
so they replaced the buged drivers with the new one and build a kernel which worked on cm10.2 and cm11 and stock 4.1.2 but the problem is that this fix is not official .. i mean it is not updated in sources of official cm 10 or cm 11
i am a noob in development so if any one can update the official cm kernel i will be very glad
NB this problem is not in all i9100g devices

So why post here??, :banghead:

[p1010] Compatiable Custom Rom for p1010

Hi Guys,
Can somebody point out what are the compatiable Custom ROM for p1010...
I am looking for best custom ROMS ..
Cheers!!!!!
Well, just the CleamROM,
Motafoca said that will port cyanogenmod 9, but this will take a time.

This is correct. CleanROM is the only "non-stock" ROM available for the 1010 and technically is not a "Custom" ROM. It is based upon a "Stock" Gingerbread firmware with some "bloat" removed and some theme's added. Also, Scott from Scottroms (the developer of CleanRom) I believe has sold his Galaxy Tab and will not be providing future updates.
Motafoca is indeed working on a CyanogenMod (CM) build for the P1010 but to my knowledge he is the ONLY developer doing so. Let's all wish him luck and support him in his journey because once he is successful it will open the door to other developers.
FYI, I have created an in-depth thread specifically for the GT-P1010 that can be viewed HERE.
I will be updating that thread and adding the details above to it. My hope is that we can all discuss our "forgotten" P1010's in that thread so as to be able to find all the information more easily.
I'm one of the testers of motafoca. And well, actually, we are trying to ort cyanogenmod 7.2, but the zip doesnt works, p1010 is a little complicate. And motafoca is working on 4 devices at same time. Soo its hard. I think that in march we finish with cyanogenmod 7.2 (note: the biggest problem is do a flashable rom of cyanogenmod, after that, is just pick the drivers of gingerbread from the source)
Thanks Guys for that information...

JellyBam TF300T JB 4.2 builds, and their compatibility with the 4.2 Bootloader.

Hi all
I'm running JellyBAM on the SGS2, and it is a lovely ROM. Apparently there is a build for the TF300T, but I note is is suspiciously absent from the Development Forum.
http://get.jellybam.com/tf300t/
Is there a reason for that?
With the requirement for Android 4.2 Rooted TF300T tablets to only install custom ROMs built from ASUS source, how can I find out for sure that this ROM is compiled from Asus source, and therefore won't brick my device if I install it?
I don't mind doing the research on this, but I'm not sure who to contact. I've tried to do some searching on the JellyBAM site for any clues in changelogs, but there doesn't seem to be any info specific to TF300T and how the latest stable build interacts with the JB 4.2 bootloader.
Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Your help is greatly appreciated.
well...i don't know, why this rom is not listed in the developer section...but the base of this rom is 4.1.1, so it's not compatible with the 4.2 bootloader...have a look in the build.prop of this rom...there you can see it...
"fingerprint ro.build.description=WW_epad-user 4.1.1 JRO03C WW_epad-10.4.2.18-20121122"

Thanks for clearing that up. I will steer clear of this ROM, and perhaps try CROMi instead.
I think there is no dev thread for TF300TJelly BAM on XDA, so perhaps that is the reason why there is no mention of the ROM in that thread?
Thank you very much! I did not know that there is such a ROM.
Would have liked to hold on 1000000 THANKS but - "Sorry, you are limited to 8 thanks per day"
'm Thrilled to now. A really hot tip.
P.S. 4.1.1 bootloader

[Q] Why no official cyanogenmod for y ??

Hi, can someone please tell why there is no official cyanogenmod 7 or 9 or 10??
And please forgive me if this type of question is asked before but i want someone to explain me in detail...
Thanks...
You have an official cm if it is made by cm
For that you need all official sources available for the device to make a bug free version
Since broadcom will not release the sources for this device only unofficial versions can be made by devs who have the time to modify source codes from other devices
That and remember, galaxy y is a budget phone. Even applying a live wallpaper makes it lag

With the eventual release of Grand 2 sometime soon, I don't think Samsung will deliver 4.4 on our device.
And the devs has not yet managed to stabilize CM 10.2, let alone CM 11. It might take months from now, be patient.
If you can't, you probably should've bought a Nexus device.

It's not about which device get released first, but it's about its market target and the product line it is included in. S and Note lines get the updates first because those are Samsung flagships and they're released worldwide. Grand is a midrange device and is specifically targeted where dual sim demand is high (India, China, SE Asia, etc) not the U.S. and Europe. That's why Grand doesn't get the attention they get, and our forums is placed in "Legacy & Low Activity Devices" section.

True yet we got 4.2.2 official before note 2 or s series got 4.3,,though being a mid range device it mde a lot of sales records here in india overall i agree with you note and s series are the flagships even phones like grand and mega should also be included with regard to the updates thats ma own opinion because as google doesn’t discriminate in the same way Samsung shouldn't and i also read smewr bout grand to end its update cycle to 4.2.2 hopefully that must be false if thrs sme base far 4.3 cm 11 can be developed!!!

I think TouchWiz is to blame for the lack of updates to midrange devices... It takes simply too much time and resources for Samsung to make Touchwiz work on newer Android versions and they see it not worth the time and money to update midranges.
The day Samsung decides to stop updating our device is the day we rely to rom devs. The beauty of Android. :good:
No chance of official 4.4, even if Samsung decides to give us 4.4 it will not be before the next android version. Legacy and low level device doesnt mean we can't have a stable cm11 or cm10.2. We have the developers working on 10.2 and I would applaud their efforts for fixing almost everything. For now our device is dependent on pawitp and lets hope he removes some time for fixing RIL of cm 10.2. Once 10.2 is sorted we can have a cm11 compiled by k2wl. One thing I have noticed is that cm10.2 is running into the same problems as 10.1. Like ril and microphone. I'm guessing cm10.2 devs have had a look at pawitp's patches for the respective problems. Until then keep you're fingers crossed and don't loose hope.:good:

I think they have already made a look on them because kingbabasula had shared dual sim soutces released on cms github so its pretty close smewr that they hve looked on the patches as slimbean and resurrection remix hve been worked over cyanogenmod 10.1's sources provided by pawitp but you never know lets wait and watch if k2wl replies and i only felt we might get 4.4 because i read google has reportedly said it can work flawlessly even on low end devices wid 2 or 300mb ram capacity because of its sleekness then why not on grand lets just wait i have heck lot of hopes from XENON92 hes my fav developer:beer::thumbup:

[Q] Where can I find CM11 archives?

I made the mistake of upgrading my s5 to CM12 which was mostly unusable. I want to return to CM11 but the download page only shows the last x releases all of which are CM12. Can anyone tell me where I can find the latest CM11 release for the s5 or perhaps recommend and provide a link to a particularly good stable release
Thanks
Redmonds
Some CM11 builds here

Thanks *detection*.
I actually came across the following post that links to the latest CM11 build. It is apparently an unofficial release but has very good feedback. I will be giving it a try today.
