Softbrick SM-N9005 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys.
I have a SM-N9005 free from carrier.
My note was originaly on a 4.3 Fw french unlocked version. Since the french havent released the 4.4.2 fw i went right ahead and tryed to upgrade via ODIN to 4.4.2. So i downloaded the AUT (Swiss no carrier) version of 4.4.2, and tryed to flash it with ODIN 3.09.
The thing is right on the end i get an error on ODIN and now i am stuck with this screen! But KIES doesnt recognize my Note 3.

Good to hear enjoy

I am having the same issue atm..
I know this thread is old but it's the only one I've found where the issue is identical to mine. I've been looking on sammobile for the poland version but there are so many different ones listed under Poland with what I'm guessing are the different carriers. Can you link me the version that you had previously mentioned? Would really help me a lot.
Cheers.
Edit: it worked!! But now.. I don't have the same network settings like 4G :/

Have you tried sammobile.com? You'll need to register and downloads take a bit, but I've not heard of anyone having an issue with one of their files.

What version of the Sprint S4 do you have?? There are 2, L720 (Original Release) & L720T (Triband, new release). They are not interchangeable so if you have the L720T you need to flash NAF or it will fail. If you are not sure which version of the phone you have, remove the battery and see what the model number is.

Does it just get stuck at the Samsung screen or the sprint splash screen. If so you will need to perform a factory reset on stock recovery which will wipe your entire internal memory.

fail (size) means some of the files will not fit on the partitions your device has - flash a rom from the same country as it had when it was shipped

S5 G900F update failure: FAIL! (Size)

Hi,
I've been trying to install the 5.0 update on my G900F S5 using firmware files from sammobile according to my region but Odin fails (trace bellow). Did anybody manage to get over this? I've seen people saying that this requires using a PIT file in order to perform a repartition while others argue against it. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Later edit:
The issue was that I've used a different carrier's firmware (I've used Romania Cosmote firmware instead of the unbranded version as it was not available at the time), thus having an incorrect partition table. Looks like using firmware from another region (even carrier) can require changing the partition table (using an appropriate PIT file). This might be helpfull for other people in the same situation.

Try with another firmware version, or use PIT file too

Try before with pit file. Use frija to download the firmware and pit. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-checker.3910594/
Then, when you open that program, go in the 3 dots, and go to settings and there you should find an option to download pit file too. I don't remember how it's called, unfortunately. But you should find that. At the end, you will get the firmware splitted likely in 3-4 pieces with pit.
Found a newer one. Now it works. Thanks for the hint to search for a new one.
