[Q] No SIM Inserted when Device gets warm - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
When my Galaxy S4 gets warm around the camera area it doesnt detect a SIM card until it is next rebooted, when rebooted and still warm around the camera it will only detect the SIM for a couple of seconds until the phone cools down slightly.
This is starting to drive me mad and I have tried another SIM which didnt solve the problem.
If anyone could help, that would be great!
Thank you!

NO SIM Card Inserted

Hey,
I keep getting this annoying message " NO SIM Card Inserted " and my trick is to turn the Airplane mode on/off for a couple of times so the SIM card is recognized again. But this is getting worse, I'm having this error the 4th time today and having to switch the airplane mode on/off for countless times before it works.
Anyone else having this problem?
Should I get my tab to service?
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100, Android 4.0.3 stock
Noboby having this issue?
I have it too. I think it's just the default message if there is no sim card inserted. When you put one in, it goes away. I don't really mind it. What I DO mind is a "--" symbol in the bottom notification bar. I used to be able to see the Weatherbug Temp or the Battery status percentage there, now I can't. Can't figure out how to get rid of it. (--)
Maybe I wasn't that clear, but I have an Orange sim in it.
Yesterday this problem with the sim was worst than ever so I'm going to Orange for a fix. Hoping that another sim will just do the trick.
i got a broken sim once after some rooting and flashing custom rom's
in my case it was clear the sim (because everithing worked well with an other sim)
and my sim was relay old (around 7 years). So try with another from a friend and you know. :good:
So it seems that I had a faulty sim and everything is ok since I got a new one. Problem solved.

[D802]Sim tray Problem[Anybody else?]

I recently got my lg g2 d802 intntl
And I noticed my network seemed to drop a few times.
My network used to go and my phone stayed on emergency calls only for a long time
I rebooted several times ,pulled out the sim card etc
I thought it was a SW problem but I realized its happening due to a faulty sim card
Now what I realized was that the back of the sim card (the golden part) gets a 3 scratches on it every time I pull out the sim card along with the tray
And it gets worse every time I do it.
Anybody else have this issue?please let me know

why wud u pull the sim out so often?
Gotta love how this thread got moved to the development section coz it has a [D802] tag for whatever reason the OP put that there.
Your simcard might be old or too scratched up, either by this phone or another. I have only taken out the tray once to put my card in. I would reccomend you get a new sim card, usually you get them for free if you go to a store. If the problem persists, it might be something in the phone, if not, be happy and dont take it out every 10 seconds to check how scratched it is.

[Q] Sim Card Error

I have literally been searching this site for hours trying to find an answer but nobody goes into much depth about this problem. My i9500 cannot detect my sim card at all. I have replaced my Sim Card Tray twice since receiving the "sim card error please restart phone" notification because it didn't seem to fix the problem the first time i replaced the tray and I wanted to be sure it wasn't a bad tra. I have tested the Sim Card in 3 other phones and it definitely works so I don't understand what else it could be. Please help me guys. I need this phone for work and I can't afford to upgrade right now.

[Q] s5 sudden strange behaviour - is it fried?

Hi guys,
A few days ago my s5 had an 'episode'. My micro SD suddenly stopped working (now phone or computer doesnt recognise it) and from that point now a few strange things happen:
My battery seems to drain really fast
When the phone is locked, if i push the home / power button it now takes 4 to 5 seconds for the screen to wake up so I can enter my pin
Almost every time I unlock my phone now it tells me to check the battery cover is correctly sealed
At one point yesterday it got really hot in my pocket (so I took the battery out to chill it out).
So I am wondering if my s5 fried the SD card possibly? a different SD is recognised fine by the phone. And any ideas how I can fix the strange behavours? I have tried taking the battery out for a while etc. Cheers for any advice in advance.
The warning to close the charging cover is a normal annoyance
Hot battery depends what you're doing with it, and if it's closed up in your pocket while it's busy
Long time unlocking is not unheard of either
All your faults seem normal, sounds like the MicroSD card just committed suicide
fair point but all of these things started happening at exactly the same time just as the SD card fried...

I have the exact same problem
so it seems taking out the buggered SD card sorted the other problems - I think it was constantly trying to access it and draining resources. Seems sorted now - so just a new SD card is needed
