Problems going back to stock

Hi,
Was running CM11 on my GS4. I want to go completely back to stock however I'm hitting issues with it.
Downloaded the 02UK firmware file from Samware, flashed it in Odin, did a wipe before and after. Takes a while to boot in each time, sometimes needs a battery pull etc.
Now, I can load up fine - however no matter what I try, wifi won't turn on, a lot of the time signal will drop/ turn off when I lock the screen. Have tried flashing 4.2.2 as well, exactly the same and on the latest flash noticed as issue with the recovery, won't allow a data wipe/ partition in recovery, just flashes something red and then reboots.
I know this has probably been asked a milion times before. But hoping someone can help me get back to stock without the issues!

Mind giving as More information about this Phone? Such as Model,baseband,Stock roms your were trying to flash and Etc . Cuz we cannot help you If you were like " Help my Phone got No wifi etc." LOL If your asking for help atleast Provide us more Information and such . thank you.

Yep - it's the i9505, baseband is 19505XXUBMEA and build number is JDQ39.I9505XXUBMF8.

Your having a signal issue because you need to flash a diffetent modem mate. And that should fix ur problem on signal issue . Do you mind booting into download mode and check if iy say the entry knox warranty void. Thanks

Currently 4.2.2 as I read the 4.3 update had caused some of these issues (although I want to be on stock 4.3.
I did notice after I posted that the baseband was for German phones (no idea how that got on there). So I flashed the a new modem and baseband is now at I9505XXUEMK8 which is supposed to be the correct one (if not please advise!?). However Wifi still not working. Tried the wifi fix file for the baseband, didn't work, also tried the root /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant rename fix. Didn't work.
Are you able to tell me which Stock Rom/ Modem etc to flash or anything else to try??

Try to find the right Stock rom from here that base in your country mate and flash it via odin . Like i told you if you boot into download mode and check if there is knox void warranty? If you dont have that flash inly 4.2.2 stock rom but if you see that then feel free to flash a stock 4.3

Ok - So I have flashed the UK 4.3 BTU rom (Jss15J.I9505XXUEMKF) and have a baseband of I9505XXUEMK8 (which was the O2 one). Signal is fine no issues etc.
Still Wifi won't turn on though.
What do I need to do for this bit??
EDIT: As per your last post, I have no idea about Knox? I didn't see anything show up on download mode.
It also doesn't seem to be working now. The rom crashes when calls are received and wont dial etc. Ok - so should I go back and install the earliest 4.2.2 Rom version for 02 as the phone came with? Then update through OTA?

Well I told you if you dont have an Entry of Knox Warranty Void when you boot into download mode then flash the 4.2.2 Stock rom :S But you already flashed the 4.3 so you can no longer downgrade to 4.2.2 ... Can you please Dial *#1234# and write it down somewhere . and then Download this Wifi Fix and flash it Via odin and After reboot still did not work then Try to download and extract this file and Flash the .tar Via odin by selecting Phone/CP And if this file did not work after flashing then please feel free to play one of the wifi fix from Here Start's from MK9 until MKE might fix your issue.

EDIT - What about the Rom issues itself? I haven't had a chance to test everything, but I can't make calls. It calls the person but the screen freezes blank and then flickers. Should I reinstall the rom first or use another?

Do you mind dial *#06# if you have the right imei (dnt type ur imei here) and dial *#1234# and write it down here pls . And try to do a factory reset and wipe cache in rexovery before you flash anything.

IMEI is the same, except for an extra /1 on the end?? Rest as follows;
AP I905XXUEMKF
CP I9505XXUEMK8
CSC I9505BTUEMK5
Tried everything from you earlier post except going through the final wifi fix versions. Nothing has worked so far though....

I'm in pretty much the boat.... I was using Omega ROM 4.3 but wanted to go back to Stock unrooted firmware.
I flashed Stock 4.3 (XXUEMKF to be precise - both Baseband and Build) using Odin 3.04
Now I cant turn wifi on
When I go into Download mode I dont have any KNOX lines and my Binary is Custom not stock!!!
Don't want to mess things up anymore than I already have by trying to flash everything under the sun!!!!
Back to using my faithful Note 2 for the time being then I guess!!!

[Q] Unable to change screen lock after update to 4.4.2 and factory reset

I am unable to change the screen lock on my I9505 after upgrading to Android 4.4.2. My screen lock is currently set to Swipe, however when I want to change my screen lock to something else, all options except PIN and Password are grayed out ("Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"). "Swipe" is also grayed out which is strange because my currently my lock screen is in fact set to swipe.
I have done the following things to my phone:
1. Upgrade from T-Mobile (NL) branded 4.3 to unbranded 4.4.2 (NL) using Odin, downloaded from sammobile. In the past I had installed a custom recovery and rooted my phone, but this was removed after installing 4.4.2.
2. WiFi did not work after this, so I applied a WiFi fix using Odin (I9505XXUFNB8-WiFi-FIX-(NON-HLOS)). Unfortunately I cannot find the original thread that describes this fix. If this is relevant I can search again. Wifi now works.
3. Factory reset (boot into recovery -> "wipe cache" and "wipe data/factory reset").
As described in other threads: All device administrators are disabled, nothing is encrypted and I have cleared credentials. I also tried removing my sim card, but the screen lock issue still persists.
Other information:
When I boot into recovery it says:
-"KOTH49H.I9505XXUFNB8"
-"Applied the CSC-code: PHN" (this used to be TNL when I still had 4.3)
When I boot into download mode it says:
-Product name: GT-I9505
-Current binary: Custom
-System status: Custom
-Knox kernel lock: 0x0
-Knox waranty void: 0x1
In About Device it says:
-Baseband version: I9505XXUEMKF
-Build number: KOT49H.I9505XXUFNB8
-Secure boot status: Samsung
The firmware information on sammobile:
-PDA: I9505XXUFNB8
-CSC: I9505PHNFNB3
-MODEM: I9505XXUFNB8
I would like to know if there is a way to fix my screen lock issue. I suspect that my problem is caused by the wifi fix or the unbranded firmware because it still persists after a factory reset.

Afaik you need to flash the new bootloader to make it work

Problem is that u have wrong MODEM. You will have to flash I9505XXUFNB8 modem for solve ur problems. But I think this maybe void ur warranty. The best u can do is make a full wipe and flash again full stock I9505XXUFNB8 firmware through ODIN and take a look if ur baseband changed :highfive:

This solved my problem. The baseband changed and now I can change my screen lock.

What I find strange is, I just repeated the same flash procedure I did before. Why wasn't modem updated during the first time I flashed new firmware?

unfortunatelly this did not work for me. I flashed the modem to the correct version I9505XXUFNB8 and it still gives me no option to turn on the lockscreen (grayed out saying "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage", like for the OP). Actually, I think I have had pretty the same problems as the OP, incl. having no Wifi after flashing 4.4.2. I could fix this by flashing Adams kernel 2.1. I guess that Wifi fix would also have done it, but I didn't try.
Well, I tried pretty much the same things, nothing worked. Unfortunatelly, also flashing the modem to the correct version did not help either.
I even made factory reset and flashed stock 4.4.2 rom again, but apart from having no Wifi (as written before) I still do not have a lock screen.

Think u should flash indian firmware for the time bieng its wothout any issues nd battery friendly

[Q] Phone.android stopped wroking sorted but have some questions

Yesterday after I fin work I had issues with my phone where when i went to call it would just go blank when you try and got message android.phone stopped working and gave me a headache! I wiped data and cache ... I was using Pre rooted software XXUFNB8 by @DjeMBeY and still after full wipe got same issue and would not let me make calls or receive weird!!!
I decided to download from samfirmware my official stock which is I9505XXUFNC4 UK on EE... I kept on getting failed in ODIN when flashing and thought I had soft bricked as couldnt get into recovery and would only go into download mode ... would not boot as the flash failed it said try recovery through kies or something
Eventually I have used a DIFF USB cable TO MY DELIGHT this worked and flashed the STOCK UK EE firmware I9505XXUFNC4 ... it now lets me make calls thank god
I can now just re root using CF autoroot right????
Should I be careful of anything else when flashing now?

I also get issues with GPS and it does not lock to anything anyon else get this issue I was getting this on both the new and old one?

Does anyone ever managed to fix not working WiFi on i9505 flashed to stock 4.4.2 with GNG8 and higher modems/basebands? On a daily basis i'm running CM11 but due to heavy GPS problems I decided to go to stock 4.4.2 (I9505XXUGNG8_I9505YXZGNH2_XEO).
Unfortunately I never managed to get WiFi fixed. I've tried everything I found on xda. And yes, i'm experienced Android user
What I've tried:
1. re-flash modem and NON-HLOS.bin files, tried multiple times - no success. Also tried single flash but from "hard power off".
1a. did factory resets, reflashed, rebooted and so on and so forth.
2. re-flashed all rom again - no success
3. re-flashed bootloader, also multiple times.
4. tried to edit build.prop and disabled "secure.storage" (switched do false) - no success
I've repeated every one step in a different order, like flashing modem, no auto reboot, flashing again, then flashing NON-HLOS etc. etc.
I have "Black edition" device so I hoped stock rom would fit perfectly. Ofcourse this stock is working better than CM11 latest on this machine - better battery life and better GPS operation, but no WiFi is a real pain.
Anyone have any clues what could be wrong?

Yes, that's correct (whatever TW means) - wifi works on CM11 latest but not on stock 4.4.2. What surprised me most: after reverting back to CM11 from nand backup I noticed that i'm now on GNG8 baseband/modem that got flashed from stock, and this configuration works like a charm! GPS, WiFi, 3G/4G audio and data works great on first sight and few hours of testing.
So, this must be the problem with kernel and/or modules in I9505XXUGNG8_I9505YXZGNH2_XEO rom not the baseband/modem issue itself...
I think I would try another stock 4.4.2 (I9505XXUGNH2_I9505PLSGNH1_PLS) and see if it will resolve WiFi issue....

The solution is that you have to flash the correct CSC (region code) for your device. You can know it installing this APP.

Hi, I think CSC setting is not the case. CSC should not interfere with WiFi operation at all.
When I flashed stock 4.4.2 XEO (i'm in Poland so XEO or PLS are good for me, phone was branded by PLS before) CSC in stock recovery was "Multi-CSC". Now it has changed to NEE for some reason. It happened after one of the re-flashes.
Despite that, with CSC set to NEE, CM11 is working perfectly with all features on GNG8 modem/baseband. Stock - no WiFi still.

The firmware you are flashing is DBT (Germany). You can download it: HERE. In theory you have to have:
AP : I9505XXUGNK4
CP: I9505XXUGNK4
CSC: I9505OXAGNK4
Reflash that firmware 2 times for fix your device :highfive:

I found the solution to WiFi and it is not connected with CSC setting (I still have NEE instead of XEO).
I managed to flash XEO firmware stock with WiFi finally working and enabled. This is just ridiculous and seems completely pointless and troublesome but.... :
1. turn off phone completly, some say that you just need to turn off by power button and then go to ODIN. I found that (by trying few times) it is mandatory to take out the battery not just powering off the phone by button.
2. put battery on, and enter ODIN mode (Vol Down + home).
3. flash, remember to untick "Auto reboot".
4. after successfull flash, again take out battery.
5. again, put battery on, enter ODIN mode.
6. flash, AND AGAIN remember: do not auto reboot! (untick "Auto reboot")
7. after successfull flash.... Yes - remove battery put battery on and enter RECOVERY mode this time.
8. instead of stock recovery menu it will show some progressbar going with green android and then it will reboot. Let him do so.
9. after reboot and settle down for minute or two, poweroff by removing battery.
10. enter stock recovery, now it will work and do Factory Wipe/reset. Reboot.
This procedure I found after maybe 10-15 reflashings. I think that crucial parts are: remove battery between every reflash and going to recovery at the end, two times.. other options i've tried didn't help at all.
I'm wondering why is that? Is it some kind of write protection (besides KNOX thing) that does not allow to simple flash/reboot procedure?
But still - I cant figure out why CSC is set to first from the list of available CSCs after that operation (NEE is first, there's some other possible CSCs and XEO at the end).

My wifi and mobile data didn't work at all, but after I took it to a repair shop they fixed the mobile data and got it working again and rooted my phone but not the wifi part. According to the person that tried to fix my phone, the current android os, 4.3 - jellybean, that i flashed via odin is preventing the wifi from working. I don't really know whats wrong with the phone but can anyone help me? Also by baseband version is 1337UCUFNJ4 and the build number is JSS15.1337UCUEMK2. Should i try to find a ROM that matches my baseband version and flash it via odin? Thank you in advance!
P.S. This is my first thread, so please tell me if i violated any rules.

im having the same problem and i think we both have knox stupid security back on the phone that's blocking the wlan to start from bad permission or encryption
so personally yeah i will install back the original firmware (before 4.3) from factory reset (or via odin if i have to force it) then im gonna re-root the phone
having back permission ill remove knox (probly with titanium) lock and box bs from base firmware and probly remove root right
then im guessing ill have my internet back now will i go full rom again or basic function thats a good question
so many freaking remote exploit lately
ill let you know if that fix it

seems that clicking auto reboot might be the cause

so would i install the I337_NJ4_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 file following that method or would i have to find another firmware/rom/(i don't know what to call this) unrooted

official did not work for me
i the flashed / reset to factory for Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M VLUAMDJ
rebooted and prayed but no luck
finally found a solution but that did changed my PDA version to 9505 but got everything working again
so if you dont mind the 9505 change (more rom and solution for 9505) id go with echoes for all in 1 fresh install solution and its a nice rom

knowing the problem was modem i did also found this solution to re-flash and fix wifi on i337 without changing to 9505

in the end i got this setup
