I would buy that, if it were white and working in europe.

any idea when the rest of the world will have it?
Looks to be a Taiwan exclusive thing. We get a lot of these exclusive only in Taiwan packages here. They did something similar with the SGII, they just released a pink version here as well. The Taiwanese change new cellphones like they change clothes. Don't see why this Note wouldn't work in Europe, all phones sold in Taiwan are always unlocked and international versions with no branding from the phone companies like in North America.
My box says: Made in Vietnam by Samsung.
I have owned Samsung Galaxy S2, Note 1, Note 2, older Note 10.1 tablet and they all were made in Korea. This is first one made in Vietnam.
I bought two Note 10.1 2014 Black 32 GB and both of my boxes say Made in Vietnam by Samsung.
It was made in Vietnam. That still takes some getting used to here in the US, seeing made in Vietnam, not that I'm against it (I'd rather have it made in the US, but what can ya do), it's just weird to see it. I was 4 in 1975 when the war ended.

Haven`t got my new 2014 edition yet , but had bought 2 from the 2012 edition , 1st one made in Korea & the 2nd was made in Vitenam & build quality was horrible with the Vietnamese one, Korean Build was much more firm & solid.
Mine was made in Nam.
It's a dark day.
i thought the Vietnam Factory was dedicated to the market of middle east / africa
while S Korea Factory directed towards Europe and North America, thats why we try here in middle east to get the Version from Europe or USA with older model of 10.1
need more people to confirm that from USA, or what Retailers selling which version

Vietnam here. Chicago, USA, 32GB black from best buy

The Serial sticker on my "2014 Note 10.1" box just says: Made by Samsung. Couldn't find any other reference anywhere on the box, besides letters in the Serial number.
Vietnam here. Vietnam is the new low-cost labor source of Asia so its not that surprising. Its probably just assembly the same way components are made in china and then assembled in places like Taiwan or Hong Kong. Still wish it was made in Korea. At any rate its mostly irrelevant. Everything is done by machines.

Same here. just made by Samsung.

Nothing wrong with Made in Vietnam. They have good labor laws that protect factory workers from work abuse. Big quality brands such as Kipling, Northface, etc.. have factories in Vietnam.

Well, they also have a staunchly communist government, that doesn't allow dissent or protest,so they may have good labor laws, but the people have little to no freedom to speak out.
Made in Vietnam. Supporting the Dong.
I hope Made in South Korea isn't becoming extinct like Made in Japan/USA/etc. Previous Samsung mobile devices have been Made in South Korea and the quality has been proven. I'm open minded towards made in other places but the quality is unknown. For example, my new Made in China Note 3 has multi-touch issue which wasn't an issue with Made in South Korea Note 2.
I wonder how to check where my tablet is made?

For Samsung phones it's usually printed on the phone underneath the battery. For tablet, you have to go by what's printed on the sticker affixed to box.
IIRC Some of the things that were done so cheaply in China have moved to VietNam, as laber rates in China go up. Perhaps that has something to do with it.
My Best Buy purchased white 16GB model was also made in Vietnam. I, too, was surprised to see this. I prefer Made in Korea as well.

Hi there,
just wanna know if anyone here know when this phone will be available for New Zealand consumers. Also if i wish to buy early which online site is best for purchase this phone. Do you guyz think motorola will ship this phone to NZ, if I purchase this phone from their site after using Moto maker.
And lastly how much custom duty i expect (estimated) for purchasing online.
thanks for any help
Considering it doesnt look like yous get the option of buying directly through a New Zealand Motorola Online store I guess it will be atleast few weeks after world wide release which is set for September.
Custom duty ... first the actual price needs to be established and whatever country you actually purchase it from.
For example if you bought it from US ... Landed cost will be about NZ$820.
Thats based on US$400 phone and US$40 shipping.
All assumptions I know.

Moto maker is not available for Australia or New Zealand. It will be sold in NZ and AU in set colours. You could check to see if you can use NZ Posts address in USA and get it shipped back to NZ. You will pay 15% gst upon arrival.
nah im not gonna import phone and pay extra... lets see what options we get for moto in NZ first. I'm still waiting for its reviews...
also i'm looking into LG G4, I am getting that one for 750 to 800 NZD... coming from iPhone 5 i'm worried if i'll get used to 5.7 inch Moto display. so lets see.
Dear All,
There seems to be no news on the availability of the 6P for Hong Kong. Anyone have any news on the availability for HK.
Thanks.

Unfortunately i don't think anyone knows anything about Hong Kong availability, i have friends that work at Google in Hong Kong and they don't know
furble,
Considering Nexus 5 release in Hong Kong was one of the earlier cities to get them back them, one would think Hong Kong would be one of earlier cities to get stock since Huawei has a decent presence in HK.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, but you see all these release dates and preorders in other countries and no news for Hong Kong.
Like i said, i asked my friend that works at Google Hong Kong and they told me they asked around and noone knows anything....
Hoping it comes out soon, my current phone is 3yrs old and this is most likely my next phone
dying to know this myself as i'm based in HK too. Huawei has a really big retail market here in HK so I think there will be a set release date with no need to preorder from google. Retail shopping is so big here.
I guess it most likely will be available this year. ?HK is not a big market and it probably won't make a dent in their small inventory.

Ye, it won't make a dent in their market with Nexus phones but there is a lot of authorised Huawei retail stores in HK which will stock them locally. Judging by that, there should be stock on release date.
Nexus phones aren't big here in HK but since its Huawei, and their presence in HK, it should do pretty well.
I remember Nexus 5 wasn't even for sale on any big retail stores. It should change this year.

That was what I thought when the N5 came out. I thought the retails shops didn't have them but they did stock them. I just asked and did have them in stock. Huawei HK website doesn't even mention the 6P so don't know what they are doing now. Like it was with the N5, the retail stores sold them at a premium compared to the Google Store. This will most likely happen this time around with the 6P. Google, make them available in November 2015!!!!!
Hey guys, so I was getting impatient too. I recommend you check out price.com.hk for list of shops that take reservations. I pre-ordered with CW Professional shop in CWB; they provide official warranty and I can pickup the 6P between Nov 3-6. I can't wait!
Where do they get the 6P?

Madeo,
Nice heads up on the find but watch out where they get their stock. Is this the 6P China version? HK version? North American version? I'm thinking their getting the China version which I don't know if there is a difference on the software side.
They said "100% 原裝正行, 中港聯保"
The official Google page have a sign up for news, but that's it.
I'm also waiting for official release in HK.
The Nexus 5 was available to buy in HK, it's just that most shops would rather sell you Samsung/Apple products instead. In the end I bought my wife a Nexus 5 directly from Google about a week after release.
We have to wait for Madeo to receive his handset from CW and see if it is legit or just wait it out. I have a hunch it will be available in November 2015 from Google Store.
How much is it and which model did you preorder?
Don't buy from retail store...

The prices are always higher then Google Store. I remember they priced it at $3800 for 16GB and $4300 for 32GB for N5. Further, they are usually opened and demoed before purchase by the consumer. At least we know handsets from Google Store are sealed box.

Looking back at my purchase history, I bought a white 16GB for HK$3,198 on Nov 20 2014, it arrived about about 3-4 working days later.
Google price will always be around the same as Fortress/Broadway shops, but you don't get any extras (screen protector usually).
Luckily there wasn't any defects on the phone but I think it would have been very easy for Google to pickup and send a replacement anyway.
I bought the Aluminium 32GB for 4688$HK ; that's the expected official price from the playstore hk. I'll let you guys know as soon as I pickup my device. Google will probably release the 6P in HK late November or early Dec but I can't wait; my current phone is dying on me.

Madeo,
Yes, who knows when they will start selling in HK (Google Store). Since, CW sells it at the Google price then it is all the better for the consumer. My Desire 820 alarm is all whacked. It comes on only a few time during the work week which is killing me.
Sin Dat and other local places
Dear All,
Anyone check out Sin Dat for the price and availability. Also, any cases or tempered glass screen protectors available in HK yet.
Hi from Mexico.
After today announcements I get really excited about the new phone regardless the high price, bet then they start to list the countries where the phone will be available: U.S., Australia, Canada, Germany,UK and India.
And that's it, no mention of other countries or even a plan for release the phone anywhere else. I was thinking that now they're moved on from the Nexus philosophy, their approach for the new G flagship would be different, but is has the same pattern as before.
I hope that Google can make possible to purchase the phone in any place, as you know, their main competitor . You could buy the new iPhone almost immediately after the announcement, IMO that's a shame for Google.
So, right now I do want the phone, but I would need to start looking where can I buy it or look for another option, like the V20 or even the Nexus 6P.
Thanks for reading!
I feel the same as you. Only two Nexus devices were officially released here in Brazil were LG Nexus 4 and 5. Cheapest version of Nexus 6P that I can find here amounts to about US$ 620 at a Brazilian Ebay-like website. I'm going to wait for Google Pixel to arrive at the same website, because I've lost hopes of the phone being released here.
I'm also on the same boat... I don't understand why Google just abandoned so many countries... and also this phone is not selling on usual retailers, for ex Amazon (directly).
I don't understand why... didn't they want world domination?! pfff
