Guys we r developing a phone lock....& one of the feature of the lock system is that if a wrong password is typed then the photo of the user will be captured without he/her knowing that his/her photo is captured.
Now our problem is that we aren't able to connect our app with the power button, ie, when we press the power button..the page which asks the user to enter the password. Also please tell me about the broadcast receiver & service as we have just began learning about android.
Thank you:good:

I can not find a way to unlock keyboard without tapping "Unlock" button on the screen. Does anybody know a solution?
Unlock then *
That is the only other way, so you have to open the keyboard.
can't unlock with '*' key
First: thank you for your replay!
In my keyboard '*' is in blue collor and to access this simbol it should first press blue dot key. That's why I can not unlock with keyboard.
Hi,
you can press the dot and the * at the same time, and it unlocks
Sorry for my english.

I'm always confused/intrigued about this, and why people would want to use the Unlock thing (unless its PIN protected or something??)
My Wizard times out after a minute to a blank screen, at which point pressing the touch screen or any button (except 'power') does nothing. I just tap the 'power' button and it 'unlocks'.
Likewise, I just tap the power button after usage to 'lock' the device immediately before throwing it in my pocket.
This was the functionality out of the box, one of the first things I did was remove the Unlock plug-in from my Today.
I use it, because if somebody calls you, or the alarm start, the wizard switch on automaticaly abd if you have it in the bag, you can call somebody.
Sorry for my english

Ah right, that probably explains that then.
And don't apologize, its 100% better than my Spanish!
I want my phone to lock everytime I switch it off, so far the only way I can do it is by setting up a password. Anyway I can do it skipping that step?
Thanks

us this. wat im using locks when screen goes off.
Get keyboard config remapping tool, then do the following
1. Add key (press the power button on top of the device)
2. Click the + icon next to Actions, and pick Run Program from the drop down menu (browse to Devicelock.exe located in windows folder, or so it seems)
3. then add an additional Action, this time pick Action Type > Power Management > Power Toggle or Suspend Device from the drop down menu
okay everything is done and voila, your device now locks and turns it's screen off every time you press the power button on the top, and when you press the power button again it welcomes you with the slide to unlock screen.
I have attached all the necessary cab files below, the shortcutsandicons cab simply makes shortcut for you to the devicelock.exe in the start menu.
search for smartlock
The first link worked perfect! THANKS!
every suggestion so far locks the screen, but then I have to enter my password to unlock, it is only supposed to ask every 30 minutes, on my old 8525 i could lock the screen and then press a softkey and then a location on the touchscreen to unlock, is there anything similiar for the tilt2, or someway to configure any of the suggestions in this thread for that functionallity?
thanks
i use s2u2 works awesome no password needed ( but optional 4 the nosies lol)
There has to be a way to set it where i can press enter on the physical keyboard rather than pressing enter on the touch screen.
It would be must more convenient to press enter to send.
Thanks in advance,
Adam
Pressing enter has the exact same function as on a computer.
In a login form there is only one line, as such when you .hit enter it will log you in after pressing it.
Yet on this forum or a txt message you can enter in more lines so the enter button moves on to a new line as it should.
So no, I don't think you can do that.
Sent from my DROID Pro using XDA App
...but I see AdamFerg's point..
I see AdamFerg's point..
On sms on other androids and in some apps anyway you can choose that enter is like send (think of chat applications, like google talk) so the option is there somewhere.
Yeah facebook does that too, hit enter to send.
Truth be told, it annoys me.
But hey, look into button remapper or whatever it is called.
I saw someone talk about it in a thread about using the side button for the camera.
Maybe it can work for this purpose as well? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109235
Hi, as everybody knows, when we do a screenshot with Yotasnap, it appears at EPD, anyboy knows how to avoid it? It's quite heavy always I do a screenshot, need to unlock EPD to press "back"
Thanks
power + volume down
Thanks, with classic capture works fine, just I asked if exists an option on Yotasnap because it's very confortable make captures with an icon
I keep trying to do a print screen by pressing the rear power button and volume down but its very difficult as most times the volume just goes down. never had such an issue with the g4 I had
another thing is double tapping and going in through the draw password.
when double tap the screen it doesnt give you the option to draw the password. I have to swipe first then I can draw the password which is a pita. any way to enable a double tap to go straight to draw password option? why dont this people test these things?
how the hell do I disable google assistant crap "ok google" ?
1. easiest to do the screenshot with the VOL- button just before power.
2. No.
3. not sure as i like assisstant.

This one can be easier, you can use the quick memo ( Aka Capture + Plus )options and it will take screenshots for you, as i believe holding Vol down will do the quick memo screen shot if its on in the settings under ( Shortcut Keys)

This is to keep your code from accidentally being put in during pocked use if it turns on. I dont believe it can be shut off without some bigger edits to systemui

disable the google app from your app settings.

disable the google app from your app settings.
Click to collapse
Or just disable the Google Assistant, if you prefer:
Here's how to disable Google Assistant:
1. Open Google app
2. Tap on Menu (three lines) on top left
3. Tap Settings
4. Under Google Assistant, tap Settings
5. Scroll halfway down the menu, and voila! A toggle to turn the Assistant off.
2. Funny, coming from the G3 I had similar questions. Not sure I need to swipe before entering knock code. Worked fine without on the G3. At least you can knock directly with the screen off, bypassing this, but sometimes I turn on my screen to see the notifications and the extra swipe is an annoyance.
3. Unfortunately if you disable it in the settings, then you lose the "Ok Google" from Google Now. Instead it just prompts you to turn Google Assistant back on. Similarly, if you turn on Google Assistant but don't give it Web & App Activity + Device Information data (which is every app switch you do, every movement of your phone or touch of the screen), then it takes your question but then just *****es at you.
Only workaround I've found for now (probably won't last forever) is to set your keyboard language to English US Virgin Islands, a region where Google Assistant is not yet supported. You might need the root app Language Enabler or some other method to enable that language. Hopefully someone finds a better resolution.
