Hey. So I just recently got bored with the stock s4 ROM and decided to go back into the rooting business. I flashed TWRP recovery and LiquidSmooth ROM. Everything is great but I realized I lost the Samsung keyboard. Now, I know it's not the greatest keyboard out there, but it did allow me to view and send the little built in emojis. I am using SwiftKey beta keyboard that supports emojis but they are the Android looking emojis, not the real ones. I've looked high and low for an original apk or zip I can flash that will install the stock keyboard but can't find anything. Can someone help me out? . Thanks!
Can't run stock touchwiz keyboard on AOSP.

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry for opening another thread of this issue but search is out of service now on XDA. My Nexus 7 have bounce back issue. It's rooted and has custom recovery.
What is the easiest way to resolve this issue ? I love stock 4.1.2 Google rom very much but bounce back issue is killing me. I can flash new kernels and edit files if i have to.
Thanks
I'm on stock rom, rooted, 4.2.1 and I don't have a 'bounce back' issue. What does that mean? Have you tried 4.2.1? It is working perfectly for me.
I think Nova or Apex launchers both have fixes for that problem.
I'm on Nova and the latest version doesn't do that anymore.
I'm on nova running cm10.1 and it seems to have cleared it up for me. I did have it though. Sooooo annoying. With custom ROMs android would be dead IMO

Im on stock rooted 4.2.2 and the notification pull down is fixed now but still have home screen bounce back (even on nova launcher) anyone got any ideas? Its very annoying, this would likely be something to do with kernel not rom?
I am rooted and on slimbean rom and I love it but I am one that likes to change back and forth between roms. I was wondering if there is a stock rom that I can flash without having to unroot? I do like the multi Window and the camera from the stock firmware but I won't want to stay on that for long. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since rooting is so easy, I haven't seen anyone create a Stock+root ROM yet...
But then again I haven't been looking for one.
I am going to be giving my S4 with MDL firmware to my wife. I want her to be able to have a most stable build and no issues. I am considering just flashing back to stock, but I just wanted to make sure I can keep MDL and not flash an upgraded version...or maybe she'd be happier with an updated stock rom, as she really will have no need for custom roms unless it was going to be a perfectly clean, stable interface.
Wondering what opinions anyone might have?
Thank you!

I would flash the stock firmware root it and then freeze the updater.apk, don't remember the specific name, so you can retain mdl.

@jd1639 @Dillsnik ATTSoftwareUpdate.Apk and FWUpgrade.Apk .... Freeze or Uninstall from Titanium BackUp
Swyped From MK2 Dark Venom Hybrid SS Edition
I would definitely suggest hyperdrive ROM. 100 percent stable no bugs. Loads of features snatched from the note 3

Thank you for the advice!
I have flashed stock OS firmware file from here:
http://storagecow.eu/Xda/AT&T S4/St...s.com-SGH-I337-ATT-I337UCUAMDL-1367050591.zip
I am running it now and it is very smooth, but it feels a bit antiquated compared to what I used to run on here, and wonder if either there is a more recent firmware version I should be running, or there is a debloated style stock rom that would make more sense to flmeash to update a bunch of things.
For example, messages received just show "message received" in the notification bar. Many roms I've run recently actually show the message coming in and this is just one example of a feature I think she would appreciate.
I am sure there are a bunch of other advancements, but that's just one example.

Stock is always best for most stable. There are no best ROMs or most stable otherwise.
Glad you got what you needed. Closing this before all the "best ROM opinions" start rolling in.
Hi! I'm new to these forums and customizing my S4 in general, but i think im getting the hang of it.
So basically right now im running cyanogenmod 10.2 (with clockworkmod 6.0.4.7) and i was wondering
if there is a way to keep the camera from the stock firmware? I was thinking going back to stock jelly bean,
backing up the camera app (with titanium backup) and then restoring it once i installed cm10.2 again.
If this way doesnt work, can you tell me one that does? If one exists, of course.
Thanks
No you can not do that. The TouchWiz camera is specifically for TouchWiz, it's deeply embedded and no way of making it work on any other rom.

I will rather have a third party camera app like focal,or Motorola cam.
And porting samsungs camera won't work on non touchwiz rom

I like the stock Samsung keyboard but after the NJ4 update the ability to save custom words is gone and the whole keyboard is crappy now. I was wondering if anybody has the NI1 stock keyboard apk? or where to get it?
Thanks in advance

Hello. This may help you. I got back to the NI1 keyboard by simply installing that rom into slot-1 and then used Titanium Backup to save the keyboard out into my SDcard ... then rebooted ... switched back to my Base rom ... and "restored" the keyboard into it. It worked flawlessly and it's a no brainer, very easy to do with a play store app, and takes 2 minutes with no fiddling around. I hope this helps. Cheers!
