The app below has plenty of options for using the phones motion sensors.

If your rooted and depending what version of the phone you have custom kernels allow this if it has feature. For example KT Kernel has swipe to wake.

Make home button into a camera button?

Hi! Im getting my galaxy s4 this week. Im a fan of on screen buttons. I know there are ways to disable the buttons and enable on screen controls. But I also love having a camera button and I think that the home button would be perfect for that. Is this possible? Thank you very much in advance for any answers/help.

How would you then leave the app?
Far better solution would be to have volume key or power key the camera button.

Disabling the power button

Is there a way or an app that can disable the power button so it doesn't wake up the phone?

Yes I was thinking of just using the home button. And as for just not pressing it, that also works but I'm always pressing the button by accident since its so sensitive. But thanks for the advice
I have read you are able to disable the home button. I was just wondering if you could do the same with the power button.

With the power button I don't think so. I wouldn't even want to disable my power button never know what could happen

I agree. The volume and power buttons are very sensitive. I've had an Otterbox Defender case on since I bought the phone and never had a problem since the case makes those two buttons difficult to press. But I used the phone naked last weekend and I kept hitting those two buttons, especially when I was in landscape mode. Real PITA. Plus holding the phone was akin to holding a wet bar of soap. Needless to say, I put it back in the case.
In any event, if you disable the power button, what if the phone locks up or shuts down by mistake...how will you power it back on? Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
You may want to consider looking for a slim case that covers the buttons, thus making them less sensitive to inadvertent activation.

Knock on kernel galaxy s3

Hey guys, I need your help. I'm going berserk, because I've been searching a good kernel for my galaxy s3 (WITH CYANOGENMOD 10.2) that have the knock on function (double tap to wake the display) like the LG G2. Can you help with a list of kernel that have this function also COMPATIBLES with my CYANOGENMOD 10.2??
Thx

This double tap feature does not exist for our phone. Touch2wake is also only available for a few seconds after the screen goes off. Everything else would just drain the battery. According to boeffla our hardware wouldnt support the double tap to wake feature without sucking battery

Ok... I will put boeffla for the battery and others personalitations cause now I've already cyano kernel. Thanks

boeffla just has a single tap wake not a double tap
it can be only used to wake for a few seconds after the screen is turned off
does anyone know how to "control" this function ?? i mean , without tweaking it manually. An app for example... Nexus has touch control but this kernel is not suported in touchcontrol..
cheers !

Use Boeffla Config from the Playstore. You can change the delay of the Touchwake with that.
Check boeffla-kernel.de for the documentation.
ok installed Boeffla... Allllll right

But there is a function to wake up with proximity sensor. It doesn't suck battery much. So, it would be good if someone could write a code to combine proximity wake up to implement knock2wake. 1) after pick up phone from pocket, proximity sensor could power on the touch layer,
and stay active for a defined period - 10-20 seconds. Then double tap should unlock the device.
What do you think about it?

Quick flashlight?

Any good options for a quick flashlight, like holding down power when the phone is off? I'm used to this from the ROM of my last HTC phone.

I'm using the ElementalX custom kernel with flair's Wake Gestures app. I have it set so a swipe up on the lockscreen toggles the torch. Works pretty well.
