PlayfulGod has volunteered his time to try to make a custom ROM for the ZGPAX! I am going to give mine to him for development, but first we need to gather enough funds. I'm thinking roughly around $200 for the smartwatch. If you are interested in donating, leave how much you will donate below. I think PayPal would be the best option here. If you have another idea about payments my ears are open. Thanks and have a nice day!

I don't get it, you have the ZGPAX and want to donate it to him but you want $200 for the watch? Why don't you just donate it yourself?
I don't think I said anything about donating my watch. Several members on the guides thread seemed interested in throwing in some money for one, so I decided I'd give mine up (obviously not for free, I'd be out $200).

Sooo any news on a custom backup?
The zgpax is an awesome smartwatch but stock sucks.
That sounds fantastic! Make it happen and I'll send you a donation.
I will be getting mine in a few days ... would love to see a rom for this. Is there a link where I can get a backup from someone I could flash without having to go through finding compatible apps, settings, etc.

How's the progress on this? Do we have a custom recovery? Or stock rom in a zip factor? I could try porting some roms but without this I won't have any luck.
Hi,
Please refer to this thread for recovery flashing:

I ordered the watch today. After I receive it I'll try to make a custom rom for it, but no promises. Thanks Coolty by the way.

Loving the device, but JB would make it perfect... and im willing to put $50 into the dev pool fund.

If I were to buy a ZGPax S6, and managed to extract such a TWRP backup from it, would it be possible to arrange for such a customized version for it?
(Does anyone know beforehand if the TWRP tool runs on the S6?)

## I will clean up the code, and UI this weekend: and for those with any doubts: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/1-click-eris-root-app-no-pc-required/
## To those tempted to redistribute my apps, or apps based on my work without permission. This will only result in me using a new obnoxious DRM system. Please stop it.
Preface, This is not a free app, its a try before you buy app. If this app works for you, and you are happy with it. You are required to donate a meal to a homeless youth, or any amount of money to a youth outreach type program.
This is a TeamAndIRC production. The source code is available on request, if good reason exists.
I got bored and whipped this up tonight with ECLIPS3. This will root your Droid Eris running 2.1 with 1 click.
If something doesn't work, don't freak just contact me. Tested working on latest RUU.
This does NOT erase anything off your phone. You can keep you data/apps with this root!
Step 1) download and install this apk
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8699733/erisone010.apk - VERSION 0.1.0
Step 2) Run, read disclaimer, press button
Step 3) Reboot, once rebooted your phone should have Amon's recovery. Yay.
Step 4) Use the recovery to flash rootme.zip that is now on your SDCard, or the custom rom of your choice.
Step 5) Go into settings, and turn usb debugging on. After you have root, please uninstall this app.
Just that easy.
Please come chat with use at http://chat.andirc.net or irc.andirc.net #droideris if you have a separate IRC client.
Credit to:
Eclips3 for spending hours and hours and hours testing my crap. Without him this app wouldn't exist.
TopazAaron for the icon
wag3slav3 for the root method
Amon_RA for the recovery image
erisuser1 for the post that gave me the idea.
and to the authors of flash_image and superuser.apk.
This is 100% legit! Very easy to do. One click. If you cant click one button. You dont deserve root lol!

Jcase and others; you are amazing
I'm confused about one thing. If it is a try before you buy app, and it is a one-click root app, then why would anyone pay for it? The majority of users only need to root once for the most part, so what's to say that people will download it, use it one time to root, and because they only need it for that one time operation, not donate at all? I can see a try before you buy for an application that can recieve daily use. Bravo nonetheless! You guys think of everything for the Eris!
Guess I will be trying this soon as VZW is sending me another refurb

No, because then who are the dumb a$$es going to blame and bug if it does not work, or breaks something.
Not a smart idea for a dev to post something that they are not sure of, and possibly have people lose faith in that developer. I know as a dev I would not post ANYTHING, that I was not sure if it worked or not. Even if I did it on a test unit, and not a retail phone.

Mark.
Unless you're going to install a custom ROM, it's not as important anymore to root these phones.
The SIII lets you uninstall [disable] almost any stock app you want.
After disabling a ****-load of stock apps, I am getting awesome battery & performance from my S III.
I'd like to see some theming and custom ROM's and overclocking though of course.

Eh, that's debateable. In the end it boils down to what you want to do with the device. For me? I want root so I can reinstall Cerberus to the System folder so even if someone wipes my phone, I can still track it. Can't do that without root.

Actually most of the AT&T stuff can be disabled. The only thing I really can't disable is AT&T Address Book. Other than that? Every AT&T App (all 5 of them) was able to be disabled.....so I'm not sure what you speak of.

Yea, this is actually the first AT&T Smartphone where I haven't cursed them out for the amount of bloatware installed. Granted I did immediately load Apex Launcher to tide me over until I can install CM9. I hate how touchwiz looks, but that's not AT&T, that's Samsung. This thing honestly speeds along, especially with websites. I'm also apparently in an LTE test area.....with a piss poor signal I was pulling about a 20mbit download and 13 mbit upload. I have to say, it's faster and more responsive than my GSII with CM9. That's impressive considering it is running TW.
Also from looking at his posts he did order it....so he could be using the GNex until he can. Though this pretty much is the GNex....just not running stock Android.

A fully debloated kk-Rom was great with a good tweaked Kernel with OC/UV-features. Than the ability to chance the screen-resolution to fullHD for better gaming-performance like in SDBAGS Cromi-X Rom for Asus tf701t. ES File-Explorer, Xposed Framework as system apps. Than the old webkit-android-browser(aosp) with bookmark-sync, like in Scroslers Clean-Rom.
And I think there is a lot more to make KK better.

I've never heard of that, and honestly I don't see any problem with it? it's not like we MUST donate but as he don't have the device and it's not a cheap one I don't see the problem with donating one as it's a killer feature we want.

Why does the "who did it first" matters?
Both methods works in a way that's fundamentally different, and as far as I can see, my method is the only way to go to maximize flexibility and compatibility between various devices and ROMs.

It matters because, if people donate to buy you the device and you're not able to get it working for arm64, they're wasting their money. I'm not saying that would be the case, but, I'm always suspicious of people who post something thousands of people have been waiting for only hours after someone else posts the actual steps taken to fix said issue.
*EDIT. By wasting their money, I mean you didn't do the previous work, and can't fix for arm64 (yes, I know, I have trust issues)...

I don't say that what you say is wrong, I agree 100% but @rovo89 seems to be very busy atm I guess, and @arter97 won't probably go buy this phone anyway so the only solution I see now is if we donate a device to get it working ASAP, because I can't stand the ads in the youtube app for example and some other stuff I need thanks to Xposed.

Hey, I'm new to this, but I want to give it a shot to try a port for the T715.
I think it should be no problem to make a build without modem support.
So my plan would be to use the source of the T710, if @CTXz allows me to use his sources.
Next I want to try to integrate the modem/ RIL sources, but don't expect too much! I'm completely new to android development and this will be my first project doing myself.
Just did some compilings and ports, but never to new unsupported devices. Maybe with some help it will be possible for me.

It seems the main issue is battery and camera (quality).
i think i messed my t817v. i rooted using odin, and cannot figure out what to do next. it tries to install but gives error message, also my tab wont charge, and when hooked into odin it keeps "adding then removed" over and over again... now i have a tablet that does not work.

Greets, Phil!

I would love that!
I also posted a device request at the CyanogenMod Forum.
What you always lose with CM is Bluetooth aptX support for higher quality Bluetooth audio, since they have no licence. And since now there is official MM for the S2 and it - with enough free storage and 3 GM of RAM and root available - really doesn't profit any more from a "slim" ROM than earlier devices did, can anybody point me to a real advantage of CM?
For me CM was never about storage, but about control. As far as possible (for I am no programmer) I want to decide about the rights apps have and don't. It starts with being able to delete them and goes on with being able to restrict their access rights. As far as I remember such privacy guard things are much more easier to accomplish with CM.

But stock MM offers these permission settings now, so what else?

My TAB s2 is my first Samsung device.... ( other android devices being nexus 7, xperia z2 / z3, moto g 4G ) ...... I love the tablet but I must say the draw of a supported CM ROM would be the look / feel of stock android and the way the system behaves. Whilst with a rooted device you can remove bloatware, the system itself does not change. All of my other devices have been stock or only lightly skinned....and basically stock once you swap out the launcher.... so I have come to like that. I do find touchwiz to be a little in my face and I do notice the system intrusions a little...... a personal thing of course and I am not complaining as I made the decision to buy it knowing full well what Touchwiz was... but the hardware in the tablet and the price was the draw-card (got the WiFi version here in Aus the first month on sale for $540 ... in comparison, the Nexus 9 was circa $700 and the Ipad Air 2 64gb was $730). My nexus 7 2013 runs MM with less and smoother than the TAB s2 runs LP. I could only imagine what it could do with an ASOP ROM once the bugs were fixed.
Could it be due to a defect usb-port?

A question:
What does one gain and lose by going from stock Samsung to CM12/13?
Thanks!

Do u know the difference between WIndows Phone/iPhone and Android, that's the kind of comparison u can use between Stock and CM.
Stock is the cute "little" thing with mostly everything that u may need ready to go.
CM is the smaller in size, much faster and with options to do almost anything u could think in a device.

Was this ever fixed?
Why does the SM-T815 run in 32bit mode, even under CM13?
