trying rooting damaged nexus? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have flasthed CWM but in CWM:
e: cant mount...
so i didnt see anything on sd card..
e> cant mount sdcard...
wtf?
i tryed to make root...
im in <>
im in bootloop
dont know why cuy i onlz flashed recovery.. nothing more
plz help
i can run CWM but there is no sdcard seenening... and in bootloop
so all steps i worked by manual here

So you're unlocked and have a custom recovery but SD won't mount?
Do this, boot to fastboot
fastboot erase system -w
That will format system, data and cache and being SD is emulated on data you should be good
Now boot back to recovery and you will need to use adb sideload to flash your ROM
adb sideload nameofrom.zip
And if gapps are required do the same
adb sideload gapps.zip
If this isn't clear just search a bit or ask again what your not sure of and I'll help ya

No in fastboot mode recovery i cant see device under adb device. Only fastboot device i can see. But meanwhile i flashed original stock rom and from my 32gb Nexus is now 16gb!!! So Wtf? I am totally disgusting 7 hours of my life is in (___.___)

Yes, fastboot only works in bootloader and adb only works in recovery and os
There are many threads across xda that explain why you may loose a huge chunk of your memory when flashing factory images along with answering how to fix this issue
Again if you need further help feel free to ask

So after factory restart is all Ok - again 32gb. But i am on stock rom without root with locked bootloader..
In recovery mode i cant see SD card space

I cant push any file in recovery..
And SD card in recovery is undiscoverable as i make picture..
So root is for me imposible

Data partition is corrupt, try running fsck

[Q] [HTC][HERO][GSM][ISSUE]How to flash?

Hi Guys,
i have a very specific issue.
Its HTC hero which been upluged before finishing official upgrade to froyo.
So, where is the problem?
Hero cant boot, all the time just stay stucked on "HERO" boot animation. The problem is, that it was upgrade from stock Eclair to stock Froyo. They didn't have any root, or recovery (CWM, RA, nandroid)...
The phone can be started in hbot, fastboot, stock recovery.
HBOT->
I've found this > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575448 < but i think its need a function hero to set up setup.
So there is no way i think
Fastboot->
I've try to flash recovery with AR, CWM via
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
but only get this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Stock recovery->
I've also try to flash via "apply update.zip from SD card" from this
http://www.modaco.com/topic/291942-22jan-stock-roms-radios-in-updatezip-format-for-gsm-hero/
every single file crashed "E:Verification failed!"
I'm such a big noob, but is there any way which i didn't try? Something like flash CWK recovery mode via update.zip? Every idea can help.
Thanks
Do you have your hero drivers set up on your PC?
Also, when flashing recovery.img using fastboot, please rename your clockworkmod.recovery.blablabla.img in recovery.img and then try to flash again.
as i thought so
prntscr.com/aun85 <its a link, but i'm newbie here, so i have a constraints
but its exactly the same as the file was named clockwokrmod.....img
Driver should be ok (get from android-cellphones com)
Q: how can i access the adb? In device manager a use this driver. But in cmd "adb devices" cannot find my hero. But idk if it helpfull.
Sorry for my english
When your phone is plugged in your windows PC (in hboot mode), check that the driver installed is called My HTC (in device manager), then download the latest RUU under HTC Hero support site (not the 2.1 one) and run the program, it will erase everything, but if it is successful it will install the 1.5 system to your phone, and you can start over

Problem was solved via hboot mode. Thx guys

[Q] Soft bricked, cant adb to device.

Hey guys, I'm running CM 12.1 (lollipop) on my G900I and hit fix permissions in TWRP and softbricked my device. I can't seem to adb into it (says device offline) which means I cant put my rom back onto my SD card.
What can I do? Using a toolkit it says waiting for usb debugging to be enabled, but idk how to turn that on because my device wont boot.
sammobile dot com, grab a stock ROM, grab ODIN, follow instructions under the download
I couldn't find one for G900I so i got the one for G900F instead, ill try once its downloaded
Don't flash a ROM for the wrong model phone....unless you really want a brick
G900I is on sammobile, I've just checked

There are few options here.
1. If you can get into twrp grab a USB SD card adapter and load the rom on the SD card. Then flash it.
2. If you can get into twrp then plug your phone into your pc. Make sure you allow your PC to mount the storage on twrp.
3. The one with sammobile has been already mentioned
yeah i found G900I 20 seconds after i made the post.
My PC won't detect the phone in recovery mode (in like, my computer) nor do i have a USB -> SD CARD adapter
Of course not, only ODIN will be able to use the phone in download mode
You don't flash with ODIN in recovery mode
If you followed the instructions on sammobile, as posted...

Bricked boot.img, but got Stock Recovery

Hello everyone!
So, after I replaced my SM-G935v with SM-G935FD I decided to root it, but accidentally installed a wrong boot.img using ODIN.
I can not access the comforting Download Mode with three-buttons to re-flash to the correct boot.img file, but I can access the Stock Recovery, and it can flash ZIP from ADB and SD.
I'm currently downloading ROM files for my S7 Edge to flash them using ODIN, but since I've only got access to Recovery, could some of expertise help me on what the hell I should do?
I'm looking for a way to make a flashable ZIP out of the boot.img I'm downloading, but I can't find anything. Is this a good plan, and if it is, how can I achieve it?
Should I proceed to make a USB Jig?
Can I do something like this?
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
I've just bought this phone for eight hours, and I unfortunately can't return it to the seller!
This is what I get when I try the three-button combo:

Can u guys help me?
What I would do:
step 1
make a FULL partition dump, backup all files including modem modemst1 modemst2, which contain the important imei specific to your phone
step 2
charge phone battery to full, download all available versions of updates from asus, copy all to sdcard, install/update one by one, until the latest. This ensures you get the latest modem firmwares.
step 3
root, unlock the phone
step 4
complete step 1 again, yes!!!! it must be done.
step 5
install custom recovery (twrp), then install cm13
VERY IMPORTANT: backup always and frequently, flashing Asus updates or custom rom can easily corrupt the EFS partitions (modem, fsg, modemst1, modemst2)
if u have computer, then adb sideload the firmware file
select update from adb
command - adb sideload filename.zip
be confirmed that the adb drivers are installed for ur mobile
So, guys, i tryed this methods but does't work :/
