and sorry for bad eng
Do you think the AOSP ROM works without any modifications on your X10?
Of course not, otherwise we'd already have CyanogenMod and Modaco ROMs.
I think we should leave this to jerpelea, building a ROM from scratch is really complicated.

No offence but , we still are dreaming of 2.2 and this !!!
guess this would be ready when honeycomb comes out ...
old news is old..
these stupid threads need to stop... i was thinking this was about a new rom release for my x10... instead this thread informs us about irrelevant news about a AOSP rom for another phone..
Devs are allready working on a AOSP rom for x10 for weeks (yes therye allready is a pre-alpha rom with gingerbread for x10, only no good HW support)
please read/search before you make new threads..
all rights of GingerBread custom rom for x10 is reserved for J and Z and other devs.
Of course, the devs know.
Here
You can delete this thread.
thanks

Why?, all the guy is doing is mirroring files and letting us know where they are
It doesnt matter if other devs are currently doing an aosp build of google. im going to close this thread cause other people are doing other things
However since it is mainly a developer based thread then il move and rename it

As we all seen, Multi touch kernel, finaly hit Xperia X10...And now i wonder, can you port the Multi-touch to X8 ?? Any working dual-touch Kernel for it?? Please post links....If you got a Kernel for Bin4ry's flasher(X8) It would be GREAT...
plz , stop posting questions about multi-touch on X8 , if you search the whole internet you will see that there is no kernel , update or anything in order to enable multi-touch on x8
if you look at xda-developers forum , you will see several topic about it!

I know, but i really want somebody to port the kernel from the Xperia X10. Can't it be done??
You can't. And looks like you didnt read any of the posts there because, if I remember correctly, all of the threads tell you it's impossible to play with the kernel until the bootloader gets cracked.

Correct me if i am wrong: Why don't you play with an firmware for bin4ry's flasher, it's got kernel.sin file, modd it, then flash it with custom firmware, should do the trick , don't you agree?
No cause phone don't accept unsigned firmware files.

Then how is it that i was able to flash an X10 M.T kernel on it? (it wouldn't start.cuz it's x10 kernel....but it did flashed...)

so, can't we make a driver with fake signature that looks like SE. ?or Mod the Kernel signed by sony?
NO, if that was possible we would already have multitouch, custom kernels, fully working custom ROMs and we wouldn't have to crack bootloader...

No need for that.
Hi, I have question > On which phones is bootloader cracked? is very hard to crack it on x8 too? (i don't know about this very much but DT/MT would be awesome )
There are no SE phone that has cracked bootloader... SE put a lot of effort into locking it :/

Some people are trying to change to multi touch from drivers (we do not need to crack bootloader). Check this topic... (scroll down a little...)
so is there any hope to crack bootloader and change kernels? or we can forget it?
We all have to wait for bootloadercracking or SE release official update

You should go to the "Ideos X5 U8800 Android Development" section here on xda..
yes this phone can be rooted easy with z4root and there are some custom ROMs out already, like the b160. CM6.1 and CM7 has been booted but not everything is working yet, soon i hope

Overclocking can be done with setCPU, but first you need a rooted phone and an overclock kernel, there are some in the Android development section here:

As the multiple forum sticky topics suggest, it's always a good idea to use the search facility to find what you're looking for.
Rooting is easily accomplised using Super One-Click Root.
You'll need to install the Clockwork Recovery Mod in order to install any custom ROMs.
I, and many others, use Stockwell's B160-based Custom ROM, with great results.
Very straightforward, but you do need to make sure you follow absolutely every step of the process precisely, and always triple-read everything before you do it.

theres no official statement concerning android 2.3 support, and thats why the word "theoretically' comes into play..
concerning the "best" support site, i would say HERE..
if not now, it will be sooner or later..
(other than here several sites in china r also playing important parts currently, but given that u do not understand chinese, they will not be very useful to u anyway..)

As a Senior member, you should know by now that there's no such thing as the "best ROM". This is entirely dependent on personal usage. What works for me, may not work for you. Feel free to try them all and formulate your own opinion.
Thanks!
