[Q] Which Custom ROM is better ?

Hi Guys,
I am new to Android world and recently jump into Custom ROM things.
In one of the post, I've found there are lots of Custom ROMs available.
Now from them, how can i decide which on is good for my device(Samsung Galaxy 3-I5801).
Please help.

U can try your choice of ROM if u want...just download 2-3 ROMs and then select which u feel is the best

Just look for number of views of the rom thread and you will know what u are looking for.

That was a joke, right? Are you saying that some ROMs that just came out (but still most of them are better than, lets say indroid OR any other ROM) are not as good because they dont have that many views? Views are same as nothing... You can get +10000 views easily with cheating (like stealing someones work)
@OP go check the FAQ thread, its the first thread in general section and there is a best custom ROM thread!
My idea was not to insult anyone, but if i did then please feel free to PM me and we can sort it out

Yes. That s what everone is saying. I first heard this news from Dharam on Facebook.

yeah my custom rom is the best ofc but i don't have many views
just flash a g3mod kernel and try all system.imges test them yourself and you know wich one fits you

you have read a lot before choice the ROM and installing them...
And i strongly recommend you to read many threads about customs roms and how to installing the ROM if you dont want to do every thing smoothly..

being new i would suggest you too to read the posts for new users then you would understand what you want....every ROM will have a few things different than others, and you will seldom have one ROM for all <atleast as of now>....i myself have 7 ROMs now, but cant pick one to be best. I would strongly suggest you to install G3Mod kernel which gives u functionality of multiboot, then you can have system.img of various ROMs and u can switch between them and decide which one suits u most. everyone is here to help you in future incase u need

each rom is filled with a lot of props,customizations....
and all this will result in force closes,battery drain etc....custom kernel is also a major culprit....you will eventually get irritated
get JPM and customize it yourself

The ROM that works the best for me (again, for me), is GreenMods POX 1.5, removing the default MIUI like launcher and TW launcher and installing LauncherPro. Is light, fast, stable and it doesn't come filled with much stuff.
If I was you I'd give it a try

Samsung Apps in CM9(AOPK) roms

i have read that many people ask if you can use Samsung apps in CMA(AOPK) based roms. Yes it can, i try it my self and it works.

No problem was searching it my self, now i found it i wanted to share it.
Perhaps someone that allowed to put links in a post can put the link... cos the side self is german.

I need it too.where can find it for cm9?

How do I install the SamsungApps-for-CyanogenMod9.zip file? It's not an apk?

[Q] Nightlies doc itemising changes / updates somewhere?

I have looked for a doc / page somewhere which itemises the changes / updates for each file but haven't found anything - does it exist? If not, could we start one?

OK, thanks for that. I see there are a couple of things there from today that are of interest to issues that I had (camcorder, twrp) - is it OK to ask for more detail about particular patches?

Yes, I did see that I could do that but that will not always answer some questions eg does this:

fix a bug with not being able to save TWRP backups to the external sdcard?
What I asked is - is it acceptable to ask additional questions in this forum when the information about patches at gerrit is still not clear?

Well I looked at that commit - One of the comments says it works, but I'm surprised it does considering that the partition in question is ext4 formatted and not vfat.
It might be that TWRP automatically detects and handles this discrepancy with the new fstab, but it might cause serious problems if you ever format the internal sdcard in TWRP. It may only require that the entry be changed to ext4 for full functionality though.
(Other than the issue of what the default permissions might be if a TWRP backup is created there - it may be created with permissions that don't allow Android to access it.)

Save and Restore all Apps and Data?

Hey XDA,
i know there are some threads out there about this topic. But none of them really helps me.
I want to install a Custom Rom on my Note 3. Its not the first Time i do sth. like this, but before i never thought about saving my Apps/Data.
Is there any way to save all my Apps + the App Data (for example Chat History etc. in WhatsApp+ ) ?
I already have TitaniumBackup Pro installed, but i cant really figure out how this will work.
is there anyone out there who can explain this to me?

Tested for few days, everything very well. Perfect rom.

Sir I have been using this rom for quite some time
It's wonderful...
Full substratum support, no issues whatsoever
I have one bug
MTP is working but is buggy...
After flashing my rom I copied my entire 30gb SD card to my PC using the phone...it worked...
No issues .but now it doesn't detect my phone...
After copying the entire thing...I removed it...
When I put it back it stopped working ..
I reinstalled drivers
Restarted both my phone and PC numerous times...
Changed settings in developer settings...
However file transfer via the recovery works...

Update 1
On my computer I went to device manager and noticed that note 2 was unable to start..seems it was a problem with my computer and not with the rom
I uninstalled the driver and let it reinstall automatically with a restart and it seems to work now..
So even mtp works...

The Dev of the rom nucleaROM didn't have a note 2 and was kind enough to build one of the best note 2 roms....
And asked if anyone could test it....
