After taking a screenshot, if I go to the notification panel, there's a preview of the screenshot. If I tap on edit, I get the pop up saying: unfortunately system UI has stopped. Anybody else with this issue? Any fixes? I'm on stock 4.3

You sure you're on stock 4.3? The toggle switches look white, so it is a ROM or are you using xPosed? Either way, as the pprevious commenter said, reflash stock 4.3 for your region.

@Hotzigetty is correct. There's no way that that is stock 4.3. Try de-activating possible modules that you have might installed and that conflict between each other.
It is stock, I moded using wanam. Haven't tried disabling the modules yet, but I did find a workaround. I went to settings>device>display and enabled edit after screen capture. It takes me straight to the photo editing app without any issues. I will disable the modules to see if that fixes the problem. I will let you guys know if it works.
Update: disabling all the modules didn't work. I probably uninstalled an app I shouldn't have. The question now is which app. Other than video editor lite, I haven't uninstalled any app related to gallery. I reinstalled video editor and it didn't work.

Is there anyway to do this? I'm rooted by the way and am stock
I flashed a google edition rom for a bit and installed "notification toggle" and it prompted me that since I was rooted I could use some sort of app move modifier program to make it stay on the notification panel permanently, basically this is what I want to do with the stock samsung 4.2.2 and have it replace the samsung notification panel, but the app doesn't give me the prompt that says I can use root access

I don't see anything super user related
And what I did I could on GE Rom, namely have "notification toggle" moved to notification/part of the system (I used /system/app mover) to be a system app. When I opened the app, it told me I could do this since I was rooted (there was no samsung notification panel to over write), but when I open it on the stock firmware, it says nothing of it and I am rooted.
Basically I'd just like to get rid of the samsung notification panel since it doesnt have everything I want and would rather use Notification toggle
You do realize you can edit the toggles on the notification panel right? I used the notification toggles app on my Evo LTE and it is crap compared to the stock notification panel. If you want to mix things up a little, try installing the xposed framework and installing Nottach or Wanam modules and you can change colors, transparency, and number of toggles displayed.

OK, I have 2 S4's
S4 1: Rooted running a stock with a few xposed tweaks.
S4 2: Stock and not rooted.
Should I do the MK2 update to both of them or just the stock one? Keep in mind I do plan on updating the stock one at some point very soon. . . maybe in a few weeks when I get some time.
If one is stock then update it to mk2 and the rooted one keep at wherever you are. I'm running stock mf9 rooted with wanam xposed mod and sort of like it. I too hope to update but I don't want to flag the Knox counter. If you already did that then update all. Mk2 I believe fix deep sleep issues with mja so you should update.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Yeah, the stock (un-rooted) one got the update but my phone (rooted on MJA) has not got it.
Guess I will just have to wait it out until some workaround comes out.
I'm having what I assume is the issue MK2 fixes, that my phone will occasionally be on when I unplug it from the overnight charge. Screen on, warm to the touch. This has only happened since I went to MJA.
If you're not having that issue, I would not bother as that is the only thing this release says it addresses, at least officially. I have not even done the update myself yet, as the problem only shows up once a week or so. I'm waiting to make sure all is well with it and some of the other mods get updated for it first.
Agreed. The update seems to only be a quick bug fix update, not a major release. It has been out for a minute now and I am not even seeing many ROMs pop up using it as a base, nor am I seeing many of the bigger Mods release versions yet. Not a huge update, only worth it if you are completely stock unrooted (because why not?).
I have 2 s4 as well. Both MJA stock rooted with hotspot and boot menu hacks and Phil s recovery. Knox 0x1.
Only one of them has gotten the MK2 notification. My girlfriend hates having the notification. I don't care to have the update. Haven't noticed any problems with MJA. How can I permanently get rid of the notification?
Has anyone come up with a way to upgrade safely just out of curiosity? With Knox and all?
I assume it's as easy as using Odin to get back to base unrooted MJA then pushing the update and rerooting. Just unsure what having Knox tripped may effect.

Just long press on the notification in the notification pane, click App Info and then un-check "show notifications". You can get there through settings too. Settings > More > App manager > All. It's the Google Services Framework app.

Thats what I did, does that mess with any other notifications I should be getting?
I have seen a few people say the update helped with a few things, but have not see any rooted ROMS around here with it added in.

Only from that application. All other apps will still notify you of updates, assuming you have not turned off the notification for it. It's an app by app thing.
I've never rooted a phone before and I'm a little nervous about doing so. I don't fully understand the difference between all the various ROM's. For instance are there advantages and disadvantages between the different ROMs that are floating around? Also what happens when 4.4 comes out? I'm assuming I'd be blocked from Updating. Would I have to wait until someone releases a 4.4 ROM? The main reason I want to Root is to remove all the useless apps Samsung/Tmobile stuck on my phone, but when I check out the processes, I don't even see that they are running. Would it even be worth it to root if this is the only reason I am doing it for?
I also see people talking about removing TouchWiz once they are rooted. I already am using Nova, but if I remove TouchWiz, will I just have the basic Android UI like I had on my Nexus? Or will I have to stick with a 3rd party launcher? Does removing TouchWiz result in a noticeable speed difference?
Hey rooting isn't for everyone. You could root and get rid of certain apps and bloatware. What I did before rooting was just disable and hide those apps.
It was fine but then as root user for a long time, I rooted and now use it more to tweak the look and feel.
The best way to know a rom is to try it.
I have used alot on this forum but currently feel comfortable with Omega Rom v6 with Wanam Xposed.
The possibilities are endless and as long as you understand the Knox flag then you should be free to try and do what you will.
Last if you ever want to just go back to stock and leave it there with updates it's pretty easy.
Sam mobile has always the latest updates available to download and you install those with Odin.
Good luck

Thanks for the response! May I ask how you disabled and hid the apps without rooting?
Nevermind actually, I figured out how to turn them off from the App info screen. But is there a way to hide them so they don't show up at all?
Edit: lol nevermind again. They disappear when you turn them off. Thank you so much for letting me know about this! I had no idea this was possible

I don't seem to know why, but I am unable to perform any type of Profile or PRL update, and am unable to get online. I am not sure why, as not less than 12 hours ago, my phone wasn't having any problem.
Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue? Because it is quite annoying not be able to access 3G/LTE when I have no wifi around.

Well I found out how it is resetting. I noticed something odd started happening with the Samsung watch on app also. My roaming settings keep getting switched to home only from automatic.
This happens every time I reboot my phone. I have no idea what the root cause for this is though.
My phone is rooted. Are those options CSC configurable? If so, could someone post a stock CSC? If not, is there a configurable config file that I can double check? Or something else?

Have you modified the build.prop file? Something in system got modified that shouldn't have. I had this problem back on MF9 and I could never get it straightened out until a flashed the stock tar file and then it cleared up.

I don't believe my build.prop has been modified, at least I haven't intentionally modified it.
The only root apps I am running that might have the ability to modify it is:
Wanam Xposed
Samsung Multiple Widgets - Also an Xposed app
And a few others (I don't have my phone on me right now to check it out). Are there any known xposed modules or other root apps that automatically modify the build.prop file?

Works well with me on 4.4.2.
I think there is some compatibility issues.
Try to reinstall it again it may fix the problem.

Reinstall didn't help:/
It'll work first enable, but after the reboot it goes back to custom. Happened to me also regardless of ROM. Just some incompatible issues is all.
This also happened to me.
After using Wanam's feature to make the phone appear official instead of custom, my reboot screen still said it was custom.
I posted my problem on the xda thread for Wanam but then i gave up after a few days. A few weeks and a few Play store updates later, I noticed the Custom label has disappeared during reboots and the phone appears official.
Summary: I had the issue for over a month after rooting. Using stock ROM. Then suddenly it was fixed - sorry I can't pinpoint the solution! But it may have to do with compatibility updates
