Hello guys, I currently own a nexus 2nd Gen it's rooted and running the latest cm 11 nightly build. Sometimes it make a buzzing noise while I'm listening to music or watching videos or it froze and restart itself that happen at least 3-4 times a day. I was wondering if that happens anyone else and how to fix it

I've never had the buzzing but I don't use the speakers much.
The freezing and rebooting I have had both on stock and cm11. Best uptime I'd get was ~24 hours.
After flashing the latest Glitch kernel it's been up for ~106 hours. All location services turned on, syncing, google now, same apps etc.
Too soon to tell I guess but definitely an improvement.
I thought I was the only one it's getting really annoying, other roms are fine
I sometimes have buzzing sound for a short period of time. But I am using stock rooted 4.4.2.
I get this too, also happens in games
happened to me only on stock cm11
I ask this everywhere but does OTG work with latest cm11 nightly for flo? It is important for me since I cannot flash any other kernel to get it working

Can you tell all your glitch kernel settings?
Buzzing Noise fix
Flash the stock Android 4.4.2 ROM back on your Nexus 7 and the install Xposed.
Why would you need a custom version of 4.4.2 on your tablet that's already running 4.4.2 when the Xposed Framework works just as well.
EDIT - I've had no problems with buzzing noises or freezing on stock rom with unlocked bootloader and rooted.
Yup - same here. I've actually experienced this on both CM 10 and CM 11. The audio distortion out of the speakers is horrible. CM roms are the only ones that have this problem. I wonder if it has something to do with DSP Manager that's included with the CM Roms??
I agree with previous posters in this thread too - Stock rooted 4.4.2 is all you really need. Been flawless on my N7 2013.
I have the same issue
It usually happens when I watch a video from youtube or twitch. My tablet buzzes like kind of similar to someone getting an answer wrong in a game show.
I just need to go back to stock.
Can confirm that there's a buzz sound and a 1-3 second freeze using the CM11-M2 build.
After flashing the Jan 24 CM11 build, and the glitch kernel (using all stock settings except overclock to 1.7ghz cpu and 500mhz GPU), buzz sound is gone and all is well.
It happened to me with latest cm nightlies, and with all of them I had freezes and hangs. I went back to stock rom with elementalx kernel and i don't have any of these issues. I think cm overall is less stable and faster than stock rom. it's good for non nexus devices, but with nexus is better to stick to stock. I've tried other ROMs as well, nothing compares to stock in performance and stability.

Glitch kernel + cm nightlies = awesome mode
Still have more than 30% battery left
I have a problem with play store. It doesn´t load all the app images. Some of them are just blank while browsing apps.
I have tried latest nightlies, clearing app data and I have even tried a factory reset and I am still experienceing the same problem.
Anyone else having this problem?

Hi,
I got a Nexus 10 device and get random reboots, bluetooth- and Wifi-problems and wonder if those problems are solved in other ROMs.
I've looked at ParanoidAndroid, CM10.1, AOKP and so on and they seem(?) premature for now? They all seem lovely though and after some time when they had the chance to mature I'll test all of them anyway
Is Nexus 10 a too new device so no one had the time to release a stable(Released as Stable by group) version of any Original Rom Dev?

I'm running CleanROM 2.0 and no reboot issues. I strongly believe that Chrome Browser is a major culprit with the reboot issue. CR does not contain Chrome, uses AOSP browser by default.

How about the bluetooth and wifi issues?
Depends what you mean. Some people have problems connecting to some hardware, others dont. It is somewhat of a 4.2 issue, but it also has to do with hardware compatibility and what version of hardware you have for your bluetooth. You might just be SOL.
random reboots seem to happen a little bit from 4.2 issues but also from software compatibility issues from things that dont work well with the new system. So it will just take time there as well.
Thank you very much!

I don't have any WiFi issues. Don't use Bluetooth
I had some major issues with 4.2 on my nexus 7, which I was able to solve by flashing cm10.1 - this is 2 months ago. When I got the nexus 10 a month ago, I kinda immediately flashed cm10.1 and have not had 1 issue with it so far.... just my 2c
I've had reboot problems with the stock ROM and the Official AOKP ROM with the kernel it comes with. I've never had issues with bluetooth and my only problem with wifi is that it is not nearly as strong as my Galaxy S2's wifi. I've had no problems with Paranoid or CM, but I used ktoonsez's kernel with those. Right now, I am using Task650's AOKP with ktoonsez's kernel and it's running flawless. I have a lot of love for them as I use their stuff on my phone too. As far as I can tell, the problems are in the kernel.
CM10.1, and Franco kernal here with absolutely no problems...
I'm stock rooted build JOD40F without freezes .

The past several days, I have been noticing random rebooting on both Official CM 10.1, and PAC-rom, which is CM based. The way it usually goes is: while interacting with the phone, the display will totally freeze for several seconds, then reboot.
Anyone else noticed this lately?

They're both a work in progress and it's not unknown to get some rr's. They'll get better as the devs work on them. Keep trying the updates.

CM is always a work in progress, then something better comes out, and dev for CM suddenly drops waaay off. Atrix 4G with CM7 had the same problem; endless reboots when i tried to play music, random stuff would work/not work with every update, and everything kept changing. I got sick of it pretty quickly, and i wont run CM anything again.
I've found I only get rrs when using KT's kernel and the ktoonservativeq governor. Using AOKP, CM, and Slim Bean on their stock ROMs, I have zero rrs and I've TRIED to reproduce all the conditions that cause them. What I've found is it appears to be tied into the GPU rendering as I get these rrs when either scrolling through long pages on Tapatalk or Twitter or using the AOSP camera. Haven't reproduced using any other process yet and it doesn't always happen at the same time or place (ie x seconds after boot or crossing x post).

Does this happen on a brand spanking new, untouched, stock copy of the rom your running?
Which is CM10.
These kind of problems are the exact reason I jumped off the aosp bandwagon. One thing after another. Just not worth it to me.
I'm getting Random Bootloops when on calls, or that's when I see it most often. Obviously it's a pain to drop calls in this manner then tell the caller I have the new GS4 I'm currently running ForceRom 2.3 which comes with KT Kernel. The problem seemed to start about 1 week ago while I have been running ForceRom without issues since it was released. I have tried installing Stock Kernel but problem persisted. I even DataWiped and restored a backup but problem is still there. I'm going to try to run fully stock un-rooted next, but wanted to know of any other suggestion.

I guess that's good to hear. I have seen many other posts around the Web including here about reboots when using camera, but not my issue. I went ahead and restored everything back to TW MDL stock and left un-rooted for now (I doubt root is the problem though). So far no reboots when on calls, but will need more heavy usage over the next few days. Since I haven't installed any apps and still only using fully stock apps maybe issue could be with a downloaded app. 1 Cool side affect is I have tried Samsung's WatchOn while on stock and I must admit it's truly cool to control all my TVs now, it will be a keeper Are you using a custom ROM, which one?
Are you guys undetvolting your cpu or overvolting or messing with kernel settings at all?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
Im glad you asked since that was my concern. I have been using default settings on KT kernel which comes with ForceRom. It seemed problem mostly occurred when screen times-out and on Bluetooth. I thought when screen is off KT UC cpu but problem persisted when using stock kernel.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Something defiantly hung back from the kernel, if the problem doesn't persist since your on stock MDL now I wouldn't worry about it. My guess was undervolting on kernel BC I had the same problem but it went away after I loaded stock kernel settings

Hey,
I got my N10 about 1 Month ago and it ran really fast and smooth in the beginning but when time went by it got slower and laggy. So i rooted it and installed CM11. There I had lag in the launcher, so i couldnt even scroll smoothly through the app drawer. I had the same problems with ThunderKat, AOKP ... The only time it runs without lag is, when i flash an original factory image. Then it runs smooth for like 2 days and it begins to become slow again.
It really pisses me of, that my N10 only runs fast when I have stock unrooted KitKat installed.. I thought its Hardware is more than capable of making the Device run smooth.
Has anyone an advice for me, how I can make it smooth again? Or which Custom Rom runs lag free for them, because I prefer Custom Roms over Googles Stock rom.
Sorry for my bad english and thanks for all answers.
Regards
I try not to make it my business to suggest which ROM is better for reason x or reason y so I won't, but I will say that you should not be having lag issues on most ROMs, even stock as this device can handle a lot.
That being said the issue more than likely lies in some bad apps you have installed, this or some mods that have been made that are working against you.
My n10 is actually my wife's so I don't mess with it much, but I will say there rarely is lag if ever on it. Currently I have her running the latest slimbean for the past few months and I'm sure eventually I'll put KitKat on there for her but she is more than happy with the performance as of right now.
So start by looking into apps that may be causing lag as with the limited info here I assume this is your issue

I get lag using Nova Launcher these days, it seems to have happened with recent updates. I have tried lots of different ROMs and kernels it persists across them all. Even the new GE Launcher seems slow.
When using apps I don't notice any lag. It is just a launcher thing for me.
Same here but I also see some lag in scrolling in apps like xda and Facebook. But that's normal. It still works great for games and apps though my brother completely destroyed my battery. I can only get like 5 hours now and the standby used to drain 1-2 percent a day now drains that much in an hour. Sorry went a little off topic there in the ned

Hi,
When my tablet started feeling really laggy I fully formatted it, installed stock KitKat, and then installed CM11 with the KK GAPPS, so far it's quite fast and performs really well. You may want to search for then"perfect ROM" for you, I can only tell you that I'm using CM11 and having a good time with it. Also using NOVA Launcher instead of stock, the launched that came with it indeed lagged a lot.

I would sugest you to wipe everything including the system partition then install a light and smooth rom such slim Kat and then some kernel. I use kt manta with a good tweak and finally activate trim

I have had good luck with the Franco kernel and CM11. The device runs very smooth and battery life has been outstanding. Just installed the GEL and have no lag issues. It is no nexus 5 but it's acceptable.
Okay, thx for all the answers. I'll try it out!
It doesn't matter which network I try, 2.4 or 5, how far I am from router, how strong the signal is. Link speed is permanently stuck at 24mbps. I have no idea if this problem started after flashing Lollipop (I'm on CM12 nightly) or not, but I tried going back to JB and still the same. Nexus 7 on Lollipop (CleanRom 5.0) gets much faster link speed from same location.
TIA/
Same here. Wifi is fubar under 5.0.x on my N10. It rocks like hell on my Oneplus One, but if 5.1 doesn't solve all that wifi issues I am outta here and get back to 4.4.4
Haven't found any solution for the wifi issues yet. Sometimes speed is okay, ten minutes later its a mess.... can't reproduce...
/edit: should say that neither CM nor stock lollipop solve the wifi issues for me. I'm sure this is a kernel issue. But as there are no kernels other than stock and cm I am out of alternatives.
I use my n10 to watch videos in bed so I had to go back to KK. Link speed shot right up to 80-100mbps. 1080p MKV streams buttery smooth with ES File Explorer+MXPlayer (or Plex) now.
My Wi-Fi speed is crap too, and lately the YouTube app gets out of sync where it freezes for a second and then when it continues the sound is ahead of the video. I'm on Lollipopalooza's Rom. I'm going to flash something else and see if it's affecting all 5.0 Roms.
