[Q] AT&T Wifi issues with 4.3 MJ9 Official Firmware - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

My AT&T S4 is having wifi issues, it won't show all the access points.
Device Version: JSS15J.I337UCUEMJ9 (AT&T)
Base Band: I337UCUMJ9
Non-Rooted
Stock
Steps Done:
-Wiped Cache and Factory Reset from Recovery Menu
-went into advance settings within WiFi and turned off (unchecked) "Auto network Switch"
-Reset
-disabled AT&T Smart Wifi app within Applications Settings (going through Settings>More>Application Manager)
-Reset
-Dialed *#0011# and turned off WiFi Power Saving
-Reset
I'm not adverse to flashing or rooting, have done it in the past and know my way around "Odin" and "ADB" so very open to any suggestions no matter how invasive they are.
***It's not a DLink router issue, since I'm using NetGear and I keep only my B/G/N radios on***
***Every other Android device connects to internet just fine***
***Bluetooth is working without any issue***
***Data is also working without any issue***

Click to collapse
when wifi ON, turn cellular data off or try this :
//fix data wifi 3g issue
Anyone with data issues try:
Diagnosis > *#32489# > Back > Back (to Phone Control) > [7] Network Control > [1] GFC > [3] Setting Cancellation
Wait for it to say success, then reboot. This fixed all my data connection issues after applying this patch.
Thanks for the info.
I did what you said. but now i can't connect to a AP which i used to.
What's the step to reverse the change?
Thanks
i had that prob too..but i flashed vt2912 tango rom and everything is working as it should again..no problems so far...wifi works and stays connected and my data connection works when wifi is not available
thank you for your info
Great...I will try it out...

No data connection

Hi.
I'm having trouble with my data connection. I was running franco r86 and flashed harsh kernels boot.img and since I've not been able to get data connected. I've tried to wipe cache/dalvik, change kernel/rom, flash the stock images (both android 4.2.1 and 4.2.2), reset APN, manually add APN, turning radio off/on in the *#*#4636#*#* menu, tried another sim card (same carrier tho). GSM works so I can make calls, but GPRS serivce says Connecting or Disconnected :/.
As I can see it, it can be software/settings or hardware fail when I plugged it into the computer to flash the boot.img (, that seems unlikely).
Any ideas? Thanks.
Edit: Got it working after selecting my APN like 15 times. Odd, but true.

[Q] Cannot connect to 2.4GHz WiFi

Hi,
I purchased a used S4 recently, when I first unboxed the phone it connected to my home network just fine and WiFi was working great. After running the OTA update (I know it was dumb, but I my mind was numbed by the shiny new phone), I could no longer connect to my home network, and could only see a few of the nearly 20 networks I could see before the update.
After a lot of experimenting, I finally figured out that I simply could not see any 2.4 GHz networks on my phone! I can connect fine to 5 GHz networks and they work well, but I can't even see the 2.4 GHz networks. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I've tried searching the XDA forums and Googling the issue without much luck. Here's the closest thing I've found.
I'm a software engineer with some background in hardware, so I don't have any problems doing any kind of software or possibly even hardware mods to get it working. For completeness, I've detailed all the steps I've taken so far:
0. (First unboxed the phone, WiFi worked normally I was happily connected to my network)
1. Ran OTA update
2. WiFi quit working (displayed above symptoms)
3. Rooted phone (towelroot) and installed safestrap (3.7.2) following the last section of this post. - Issue persisted
4. Installed SHOstock ROM - Issue persisted
5. Followed entire Odin/stock re-flash using the same link above - When the phone first turned on after the NB1 install, it picked up my network. I thought this was an indication that it was going to work so I continued following the guide
6. Updated to NC1 - issue returned
7. Used Odin to restore phone to NB1 again - same issue
8. Realized only 5 GHz networks show up
9. Ran through complete re-install and am currently rooted with safestrap running LightRom v13 with the NC1 modules installed
10. Installed this WiFi band switcher. Whenever I switch to 5 GHz or auto I can see and connect to 5 GHz networks. When I switch to 2.4 GHz nothing shows up and when I hit scan it acts like it's not doing anything.

[Q] Cellular Network problems after Android 5.0

After updating to Android 5.0 (official release), my nexus 4 is having some problems with cellular networks. Phone works fine until suddenly it loses the cellular network, network signals disappear and only gets it back after rebooting.
So far I have tried
1. Tried to turn off the radio and then turn it on
2. Changing the Sim Card
3. Factory reset
4. re-flashing factory images
5. Turning the airplane mode on & off
6. tried different network setting (GSM only, WCDMA preferred, GSM/WCDMA auto etc)
Nothing seems to solve the problem. The only way to get the signals back is to reboot. Phone was working fine before updating to Android 5.0. Is there anything else I could try to fix this issue? Any help regarding this problem will be highly appreciated.

Disconnecting 5GHz Wifi

Hi,
As far as I can remember my Note 3 N9005 had problems with keeping a stable connection to 5GHz Wifi. I have been solving it by making 5GHz a different SSID and not using it but nowadays in hotels and airports I cannot do anything.
I am running the latest official LineageOS 14.1 2018-08-23 and the bootloader N9005XXSGBQD5, baseband N9005XXUGPQB1, firmware N9005XXUGBPB1. My original CSC is BTU (UK).
In Wi-Fi settings it frequently goes from Connected -> Disabled -> Saved or Connected -> Obtaining IP address -> Connected. It gets stuck on Disabled or Saved.
So far I have tried:
* changing ccode=ALL in /etc/wifi files
* setting region code in Wi-Fi settings -> It does not persist
Do you have any suggestions? Maybe changing firmware/baseband would help? Has anyone else experienced this issue?
No 5g problem on stock or TW roms .
Was a wifi switcher app on XDA at one time.
But doubt it works on non Samsung .
