Hi, I'm about to use this on my V500, and I'm just a little hesitant because there is virtually no info/documentation. You said it worked, are there any tricks? USB Debugging need to be on, etc.? I'm using a macbook pro, and the rooting process isn't very clearly stated being that there are a flood of 1 click windows apps. I'm familiar with adb on a nexus, but it doesn't seem to function the same way, and finding just a root file is nearly impossible. So, this feels like my only hope as a mac user. Anyways, sorry to bother you, but I just want some more info. Thank you.

No tricks, install the LG driver PKG if you dont already have drivers installed then run the toolkit, gives step by step instructions as you go.
Hi I recently purchased this device and absolutely love it
I was just wondering if this gets rid of all the data on the phone
as many other root processes do
Many thanks Bobbie
Works great for root. Hardly took a minute. But it didn't seem to install cwm when I followed the instructions. Did anyone manage to install cwm with this software?

No,unable to install cwm through this but very easy to use otherwise via mac.

Hi everyone.
Since we got root on our dear Tattoo, I wanted to control it from my PC, 'cause I send so many SMS and as you know the Tattoo keyboard is very uncomfortable if you text a lot.
Well, I realized that this can be achieved through one really nice app named "androidscreencast" hosted in Google Code.
These are the steps to follow:
1. Get the ADB working on your computer (if you use Windows, you can find it here).
2. Connect your phone through USB and enable "USB Debugging".
2. Make sure that your device is detected with "adb devices".
3. Now launch this (I downloaded it and launch it with "javaws androidscreencast.jnlp").
That's all, control your device from your computer

Cool! And for linux?
Good find. This should work using Java in Linux if you have adb installed, but I got a couple errors.

This only works when the screen is unlocked.
While using the tool your phone's screen will stay unlocked until you 'idle'.
On Linux you just need to start the adb daemon and then start the tool. Works like a charm!

thank you very much, this pro very good..
Hey I just found a GUI for some of the simpler ADB commands. Its great for those with little programming experience who flash roms such as myself and currently do adb commands through command prompt.
Thanks to 7ymekk for his hard work on QtADB.
Here for his website
Unfortunately the screenshots I made arent uploading properly, so please refer to the website or linked thread for screenshots.
DONT FORGET!!!! This will not work without the Android Sdk setup, drivers installed and the platform-tools addition being downloaded in the sdk manager.
Drivers are here under 2-3 rooting
4-1 gives instructions on how to install SDK, it is now on r16 sdk and the link there will take you to the correct sdk. You must open the sdk manager once installed and install platform tools. Additionally if you choose to set a system variable the path is wrong in the file. the correct path should be C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools, though yours may be different depending on how you install and your specific computer.
Here are some shell commands to use with the GUI
Please dont forget to thank 7ymekk

Added CF-ROOT Method !
Please help...
Hello, first of all, i would like to say thank you so much for your noob proof guide on rooting SGS3. I successfully rooted my SGS3 by following your method (and i am a noob haha).
But, i have a problem now, my phone keep reminding me to update my firmware, and i couldn't do it. From what i read, its because my phone is rooted.
So, now i want to un-root my phone, but i am so confuse because so much info out there. I try to read it over and over but i still not understand (i am a noob).
So, i need your help to guide me to unroot my phone. I am not using the CF-Root, i am using the first method you posted on this thread.
Please help me... i dont know what to do. :crying:
Thank you so much for your help, i really appreciate it
Hey guys,
I've rooted a couple of devices before (G2X, Galaxy S2, Optimus S). However, this is my first Nexus device. I'm really loving this phone and want to use it to its full potential. I'm been researching alot on how to root it but I keep seeing numerous ways and different advice. I know I have to unlock the bootloader first then install drivers. However, I've NEVER unlocked a bootloader before and I keep getting errors with installing drivers.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get flamed for asking this (Which is fine, to each his own), but would somebody please give me an easy straight forward way to root this phone? I would greatly appreciate it. So far the videos on youtube dont actually show you how its done (they only show clips of the process already done). I'm currently on stock 4.2.2 version.

If you use a toolkit, you learn NOTHING. Don't fall into that trap.

FEATURES
Check from here :fingers-crossed: lol..
TIPS TO USE IT
1. Make sure while using any option move your cursor onto it, to display its information.
2. If toolkit suddenly doesn't respond, make sure you first End its process from task manager then contact me from the toolkit - that why this happen (log)
3. Do not jump onto the options quickly, wait till the first process gets over.
4. That's it, ENJOY
Please install the ToolKit to the root folder on your PC if possible.
For example C:\MTK-Tools or D:\MTK-Tools
If you install it to a folder with brackets or special characters in the filename such as C:\Program Files (x86)\ then it may cause certain processes in the ToolKit to fail.
If you already have the Toolkit installed and want to update it, just open MTK Tools.exe and then Select Help tab to check for updates. If updates are available it will be automatically downloaded.
There have been reports of the Toolkit not working properly if the User Account name is very long or contains special characters so be aware if you have problems.
