Hello
I have KitKat 4.4.2 factory rom installed on my phone, it's rooted etc. I also have Xposed and Gravity installed.
Does anyone know an easy way to change the network provider name that displays on the lock screen, pull down notification etc? Gravity does not have this feature I do not believe.
I also am considering using the Purity rom, and would prefer not to use Xposed/Gravity on this just in case it cause instability. I don't think Purity has this option either.
Thank you.
Yes. Xposed causes system to slow down a bit. But you can change provider's name using "Xblast" module. Purity lacks this feature!
Check out the theme sections. I am sure I stumbled across something there that does what you asked.

Thanks but that just adds the existing carrier label to the status bar? I was looking for something to change the carrier label text itself.

Hi,
I test various rom : TW, cyanogen, aosp, Google edition... on my i9505 galaxy s4.
I don't like the CRT effect, when the sceren go off.
I found, for example, a patch allowing me to change the battery icon in percentage, to be flashed in recovery.
is there a patch, allowing me to remove the CRT effect
thanks
Olivier

thanks for feedback.
I tried to set anlmation duration to 0, it had no effect.
when you are talking about Omega file : are you talking about a ROM ?
I don't want to go back to a TW ROM, so Omega ROM is not an option for me.
GE, ASOP, or Cyanogen, or Miui. only that )
thanks for you help.

edit build prop. line "persist.sys.screen_off=crt". Change "crt" to "none"

it does not work .
I tried also to replace off by fade. without any success (I have rebooted each time)
I am under cyanogenmode, may be it comes from that. (Cyanogem mod 10.2, i9505 galaxy s4)
thanks

Hi everyone
Has anyone already solved Google Now to work on 4.4.2 stock ?
Please some who know how to do this...
I can't turn on, and I can't, I tried everithing and nothing.
Thanks
Its been quoted lots of times. You have to set the default language to us for the o.k Google voice activation to work and sign in for the rest. I think most people on 4.4.2 have it working.

Well, there were sgt7 builds at http://code.google.com/p/tab89-sgt7/downloads/list . Though SGT7 (Android 4.3) is not developed anymore, so there was no reason to make new build.
But it is always nice to have a thread with firmware discussions

Well yeah maybe, but last version in this list you mentioned dated in 2013-11-20,
this build I ported was in 2014-2-23, so it is newer, and I think that is better than a hidden list right!
great!!

if you can edit your post and remove the entire quote from it, that would be great
Can u give another gapps that compatible with this ROM? After flash the gapps that u give on OP, it won't sync my contact

Really, you should try them all and decide what works for you. In my experience, CM10.2 is quite solid, though, and is my daily driver. The kit kat ROMs are really cool. They are roughly as smooth and fast, though the battery life is not quite as good.
It's really fast rom but 3G is not working, i have four bars but does not connect, when i scan for mobile networks it gives me error

Hi guys i have brought moto g 2014 3days back. and i wonder is there is any option to add more options like rotation toggle.
Its upto you, if you only want extra toggles then go for without root method and if you want to still customize your phone to a greater level go for root method.
With Root : This will add extra toggles in the quick settings.
Unlock bootloader, root your device. Link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/guide-root-moto-g-2nd-gen-2014-t2874245
Install Xposed Framework and GravityBox KK module. Link : http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Without root : This will add a bunch of extra toggles in the notification screen.
Install Notification Toggles Link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle.
Or Power Toggles.
Exposed framework + Gravity box = lots of happiness
Thank u guys for ur response

Remember that unlocking your bootloadercomes with factory reset -> backup.

Very hard to do with one hand only.
The left/right way is much more effective.

Just saying that the left/right implementation is better than Google's one/two finger method.
GravityBox essentially turns the stock rom into CM or similar. You have all the features, there's no need to actually have CM anymore if you ask me. The only downside is that you do need root (or more specifically, you need root to install XPosed framework, which gravity box needs).

No, but if you have a stock-rom that's basically AOSP and the latest version of Android, you don't really gain anything by going for a custom rom versus just using GravityBox. The latter version also still allows you to update the stock rom in the normal fashion.

I agree Gravity Box is the way to go. My only mistake was integrating updates into system and now can't get OTA updates. Complains about chrome.apk, etc during verification OTA.
Do you have a twrp backup of the stock XT1068 system for UK version that you could share? (21.11.14.titan_retgb.retgball.en.GB.retgb)
Disable Quick Settings
Is there an option to disable Quick Settings from the top right?
Thanks for the useful info

Morning test :
I gotta try this one. Thanks man!
I see a very slight difference in speed. I know it doesn’t have a interface, so my question is, what algorithm are you using for this, if any, cubic, Westwood? I’m looking for a kernel that can increase my selection of TCP algorithms, as the rom I’m using only has two choices. Has this been tested with any algorithms?
has anyone tried on miui or miui.eu?
Any updates guys?
You made this very confusing dude. If you need BusyBox, shouldn't that be in the requirements? Do I need to have BusyBox installed to use this? And what do you mean by profit? Sorry but I don't want to break my device because the instructions are confusing
Just downloaded v1 and v2.
Gonna open them up and see what the deal is.
One question I have is how v1 is a full megabyte while the second is only 7kb.
Wifi
Top for lte,
Wifi ? Can you do something?
Any updates? OxygenOS android 10 latest magisk 20.4 it doesn't appear on "modules" so I think can't be installed or idk
