[Q] Lost use of touchscreen (GT-I9300) - Galaxy S III General

Hi all, I am a first time poster
I own a galaxy S3 (GT I9300)
first problem...
i flashed a rom called CrDroid and it wiped my EFS and IMEI so i couldnt make or receive sms or calls and got a generic 0049 IMEI
2..
Upon trying to fix the issue, i tried to flash CWM recovery touch and my touchscreen stopped working. so, its a software issue, not hardware
i have tried flashing many different roms, kernels etc but nothing will fix my problems.
is there someone who can assist me in fixing my problems? (flash touchscreen drivers and restore EFS data [in that order])
or
Can someone give me information on how to reflash EVERYTHING on my phone including system and root (and any other) partitions?
i am NOT interested in sending my phone back to samsung or to a repair centre
PLEASE HELP!

Here >>>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344125
..everything you want to know steps by steps tutorial from flashing to rooting.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

thank you so much sir but i can't find the solution to my problem
my touchscreen was not working after i flash by wrong recovery n7100
and now i want to fixe it but how?

You'll need a new touchscreen, nothing you can do with software as you've blown the controller.

Please Help !! Not Registered on Network. IMEI problem ??

Hello,
I have an S4 GT-I9500 and suddenly am having the "Not registered on network" issue. That is: I cannot receive or make phone calls and SMSs, all the rest of the phone is working OK (including Data Connection 2G/3G, which is confusing for me).
I am on stock rom Android 4.3, Baseband I9500UBUEMK1.
I think that the problem is related to the fact that a few days ago I have rooted the phone, and installed Titanium Backup to delete samsungs bloatware. However, after all deletions (I think that I have deleted only safe things), everything was working perfectly, but suddenly today I noted that I cannot receive or make phone calls.
I have read many many threads in this site, but I am still confused on what is the cause and the solution. I have checked the IMEI, and have found that the IMEI in the back of the phone is 3571****, and the IMEI reported by the phone´status is 35299****. I can´t understand what might have changed my IMEI.
I went with ES File Explorer in root mode to the beginning of the filesystem, and have found the EFS folder ... there are many folders and files in it.
I don´t have a previous backup of this EFS folder, but I have read that there are some cases that the IMEI is recovered doing some procedures...
Please help me !! I don´t have experience flashing ROMS or modems but if there is hope ...
Thank you very much.

Something similar happened to me some weeks ago, but my case was different because I lost my imei but it was a generic one, (started with0049..) Everything was fixed when I installed a stock firmware through odin. Go to sammobile, download any firmware suitable for your model and flash it following these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477

Thank you for your answer. Do you think that is better to go flashing directly, or a factory reset should work also ?
Am I going to have any problems with the fact that the phone is now rooted, and (I think) with Knox in "non-stock" ?
Thank you.

I don't think factory reset will work, I'd flash the firmware. Flash a stock one, through Odin.
As regards knox... If you rooted the phone you might have knox warranty void 0x1, it depends on the bootloader. When you enter in download mode you will find out. If you still have knox0x0 or nothing displayed it means that warranty void was not triggered. Anyway flash the same firmware that you have now. You can find it in sammobile web page. Hope it works!!!!!
Well, finally I went with the phone to a repair technician who fixed the IMEI problem using a Octopus Box.
The reason the IMEI was altered is still unknown.

Quick FYI and correction -
Hard Brick = Won't power on or do anything.
Soft Brick = Can still access the device - bootloop/power up/bootloader/recovery.

Did You ever tried a full wipe several times before and after flashing?
Post some more information.
1. Where did you buy the phone
2. PDA/CSC/Baseband
3. IMEI still displayed as a number or is it null/null
4. Do you have EFS, FSC, and FSG backups
5. Which stock rom(s) did you flash
It sounds to me as though you have been flashing the wrong stock rom for your device. The behaviour you describe sits in line with that.
i bought it From official Samsung Shop, and it was running like normal before this problem.
IMEI is ok, not showing null or anything like that.
didnt help

Okey you need to get EFSBackupPro and use it to backup efs and fsc and fsg partitions. Just Google it and you will find a link to the thread here on xda.
After that you need to tell us what is the phone model. Look at my signature to see what a model looks like.
I think you flashed the wrong stock ROM. We need to find out which model phone you have so we can link you to the correct n9005 stock ROM.
You must make efs backup first. You can lose your imei and I have not seen a working method to fix the phone if that happens.
Efsbackuppro has bricked Note 3's previously. I wouldn't advise it.

I have the exact same problem and I think it's a hardware problem. This was happening to me yesterday and is not related to software. I think it's the sound IC or dac.

After flashing stock rom, do FULL WIPE using recovery.
You did not mention doing it.
I did this and no change. As I mentioned I don't think this is a software problem. I did remove cameras and usb charging port even the upper hedfone port and is the same behaviour. One of the iC is malfunction . I did stop everything that is related to sound and I use now my phone as a tablet with no sound and recording capabilities.

L.E.
After I was looking over schematic of motherboard and online for similar hardware defect I think is the audio codec IC WCD9320 that need to be re-balled or replaced. On the MB it has the the code U707. I will try this tommorow.
CHECK
I did not seen any Note 3 with full sound hardware bullit , but I faced to not have sound when I flashed a different firmware and I tryed t update trough ODIN to the last firmware nf3 nf4 TRY THAT AND put your news here , DON'T TRY TO OPEN YOUR PHABLET DOES NOT HAVE PRB AND ALSO SAMSUNG INFO app from play... you will se your hardware is ok and also your sound codecs )::)) ODIN 3.07 is the most stable >LAST FIRMWARE (UPGRADE) PROBABLY TO TRY INSERT YOUR CSC AND PIT Country files ( AREA CODE for example XEO mine )
I did reheat al the components on the main board. Nothing happened. But... i did reflash (as a last try)with mobile odin the last build from south est of Europe and miracle happened is up and working well.

Problems after doing unlocksim. Urgent help please.

Hi all, I apologize for my low level of English. I want to tell that to write this report use the google translator.
I also thank in advance the help that you can give me.
Acontinuacion expose my problem:
I followed the steps in a tutorial, to release my samsung i9505 galaxy s4, exposed one of the most important forums, Htcmania.com my country, Spain.
By exposing my problem in the same forum that supra and receiving no response clarification about my problem, I turn to the more important to try to find a solution forum. I go to XDA-Developers.
I do a copy and paste of the report I wrote on the forum that I quoted earlier as I explained my problem well:
My s4 with Android 4.4.2 was completely "virgin" had installed the rom Stock samsung, was not released, was "Yoigo" any advanced recovery had not installed, and had no permits super user "root".
I wanted to release it (Unlocksim) seeking information HTCMania, and I found the following topic "Free S4 I9505 (Unlocksim) in 4.4.2" I followed all the steps in the tutorial. One of the "requirements" was to be root to do a backup of the EFS before touching anything, and to use the application "Region lock away"
So no, I did root, flashing by odin CF-Auto-Root 4.4.2 package.
Being root installed the advanced recovery "CWM" philz touch. And I found myself at this point I made a backup of the EFS system being completely "virgin" that is, with stock rom samsung and android 4.4.2. I followed the steps in the tutorial that I have made previously to unlocksim. One of the requirements to release the phone was change the modem to modem I9505_DXUAME2_MODEM, so I changed the phone modem and followed the guidelines set by the tutorial,
Region to use the application could lock away briefly display an error is possibly to blame for me as I'm seeing. This error could display for two seconds, but from that moment everything seemed to work well, the phone was released. So I changed the modem again for mine.
At this point I decided to choose to install a cooked rom based on stock, namely Omega rom v38.1 for s4 I9505.
And at this point is when my headaches begin to appear. I have experienced problems with the release ... see, the issue is that when the network coverage data is in H + the phone works perfectly, but only if H is not able to load websites etc. This has led me to the edge as I can not be aware every moment of the type of data coverage.
My questions are:
1. Is there a way to stop the phone as he was before unlocksim, ie leave it as it was originally being from Yoigo? (Remember to keep a copy of SAI realized when the system was completely untouched.)
2. How I can solve this problem with the network coverage data?
3. What do you advise me to do?
Please help. Greetings.
you might want to try searching sammobile to see there is a ROM you can download and flash that's for your country and ideally for your phone provider as well. I've run into issues like this on a couple of occasions. One was indeed that the country's ROM I flashed uses differant frequencies and I had the same mobile data connectivity issues you're talking about. This is rare for the international Samsung phones but it does happen. The other scenario I ran into was after flashing a port of the Google Play Edition onto tit, which gave it extended network options, and everything worked quite well but when I restored to stock from a backup on my sdcard I had connectivity issues, once again just like you're describing. In this scenario flashing a fresh stock ROM entirely solved the problem.
Note that in the second scenario I didn't redo the data partition. Presumably flashing the system fixed it or reflashing the firmware partition reinitialized things the way they are meant to work for me.
search for I9505 (or whatever the model of your phone is) where it says search for your device http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Google around the codes if the results aren't revailing enough for what's stock for you and try reflashing in odin. If it persists then backup your apps, wipe the data partition, possibly backup your internal storage as well if you have a stock recover, and try again. Beyond that I haven't had to deal with further problems than that yet but I saw that no one else had responded...

S5 IMEI null and Service mode blank

Hello,
I have this problem with my phone and i don't know how to fix it, the IMEI is Null and when i enter "*#0011#" the ServiceMode is Blank !!
I tried to use GS5_EFS_Backup but it doesn't work ! Also the phoe get hot a lot, and when i put it in charge the battery level of charge is stuck in 10% always.
My phone is rooted.
Help me Please.
Thank you
Sounds like you wiped your EFS partition without backing it up first
Phone is dead if that is the case
Some people have had success backing up another S5 EFS, then restoring it to the dead phone
Otherwise, take it to a repair shop, next time backup before messing about

Thank you Detection for your answer. So where can i find another S5 EFS, and how can i restore it.
Help me Please because i tried already to take it to a repair shop but they don't know how to fix it, that's why I wanna try to repair it myself, and i think its one of the repair shops who wiped the EFS partition without making a backup (because i give to 3 repair shops and they don't know how to fix it).
You'll need another S5, no-one here will give you their EFS backup as it is specific to their S5
A trusting friend / family member or an old 2nd hand S5 if you can find one, is your only choice

There is no other solution like flashing the PIT file using Odin and reinstate the stock rom or any other solution !
Nope, not if you've deleted the EFS partition - that contains the IMEI and Radios
Ok thank you, ill try to contact samsung after sales service.
Hi everybody,
I have same issue:
I needed to update SU-binaries and tapped accidentally on CWM/TWRP-Mode instead of normal. After this IMEI is null, Service Mode blank, sudden reboots and unable to install any Apps (always saying no free memory). uninstalling App causes reboot.
I have efs backup made with (PhilZ Touch) CWM, but I'm not able to fix the problem with it.
What I tried:
flashing Stock ROM + updating Bootloader in Odin
this Guide (except Samsung Tool and Terminal Emulator steps, as I can't install any App)
CWM script
I really don't know what else I can do. Does anybody have some other ideas?
Also backing up is not possible, now. EFS Professional says specified PIT file does not exist, even when I choose all partitions.
FIXED. Possible solution.
Fixed. Went to a shop to repair IMEI/EFS.
It seems there is something called "IMEI NV Generator", this should also do the magic and would have saved me some money.

Will Rooting & New CyanogenMod Rom Fix EFS error?

I've had this whole dm verity failure issue from stock rom after OTA update to my Note 4, Samsung won't do squat because it's a India Variant N910G and from what they tell me out of warrenty so I said screw it and decided to Root it and ad a the TWRP bootloader to it and use stock all is fine, except the issues I was having with Lag, and WIFI not saving passwords and Private Mode not working still remain.
So am considering using the CyanogenMod Rom but will this make a difference in you opinion if the EFS is what the issue is, my IMEI is fine by the way so can't figure out what's up with this whole thing and I don't have a EFS backup from before this issue occurred only now I have one since I rooted.
Any help and advice appreciated from you awesome peeps here.
Thanks
