[Q] Dumb mistake caused huge problem on G2 AT&T - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I wanted to install the Paranoid Anroid rom onto my LG G2 using (TWRP) Team Win Recovery Project, and I formatted the sd card as well as the device and now I am stuck. The G2 works perfectly, but when I boot it up it takes me to the Recovery because my LG software got deleted. Is there anything I can do to get it back?

Follow the instructions to restore to stock image
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
It's a bit of a pain, but it'll work.
I had a similar issue where I brain farted and forgot to run a backup and the .zip was corrupted. So I had to do the above to restore to stock and start over.

If I'm not mistaken, you could adb sideload the rom as well rather than going back to stock first.
Sent from my LG-D800

True.
I saw the option but had all sorts of issues pushing the image so I just went to stock, but it's definitely a valid option as well.

Adb sideload first, restoring to stock isnt necessary at all unless you really messed something up.

I tried to install a new rom after updating TWRP 2.3.0.0. after all was complete it stuck on the boot screen. I then tried with the Nexus Root Toolkit to use a restore from backup. Same problem. I then tried to flash stock and unroot. Same problem. I then tried a number of things through TWRP from backups I had their. Same problem. At present I have no OS and I can only boot into TWRP, turn if off or look at the GOOGLE screen. I have run out of ideas and would appreciate any help offered.
If you have tried everything else (flashing a ROM zip etc.) Then you should flash the factory image from Google.
Don't use the script/batch file as that will wipe your internal storage.
Just flash system and boot.

Sometimes a rom takes a long time to boot for the first time, please be very patient. Also, try wiping everything from /system, and then re install a custom rom from your /sdcard partition. also make sure your roms are for the nexus 7 not galaxy nexus or other similar devices. ONE MORE THING 4.1.2 wont flash with 4.1.1 bootloader.

I know many people hate the talk about toolkits but I was in the same situation and I used Wug's toolkit and it saved me. I downloaded 4.1.2 image directly from Google, as the toolkit only has 4.1.1.
I tried to return to stock on my own and it just went from bad to worse. I would of spent more time trying to fix it on my own but I was on a very tight time constraint. It will unroot your device but it is easy to root again.

[Q] Cannot mount anything in TWRP, sdcard folder empty

Hi All
I am in the process of flashing Cyanogenmod 11 onto my TF300T however I am in a world of hurt. First I updated to the latest TWRP (2.6.3 -4.2). When i boot up into TWRP it is asking me for a password which I do not know. If I press Cancel i cannot see any contents of /sdcard. Also if I insert a microSD card, again cannot see any contents. TWRP is telling me there is no operating system installed and if i reboot it just comes straight back into TWRP.
I apologise if this question has already been asked but I just cant figure this one out.
What bootloader version do you have? What helped me was to reboot into the boot loader (using volume down+power, has three options RCK, cold-boot linux, Wipe data [dont ever ever ever wipe data]) and select cold-boot linux (the android guy in the middle) and it would boot back into my ROM. If you cant get in that way, you are going to have to use ADB on your computer and use the "adb reboot-fastboot" command. If you get in, back up your files, because you're at the event horizon of losing all your data. If your bootloader is 10.6.1.8 youre going to need to flash the latest asus stock firmware from their website.

I am using bootloader 10.6.1.3. When I cold boot linux it just continually boots up into TWRP.
Whenever I try to run an ADB command i get "error: device not found". I have installed the android SDK, tried to install the USB drivers but no luck (possible windows 8 issue?).
It doesnt matter if I lose all data on it, i dont keep anything really important on it.
I have rolled back to 2.5.0 TWRP and it still asks me for a password.
I've switched over to my Mac now and have been able to push the CM-11 ROM into the sdcard directory. However when I attempt to flash it, it fails immediately with the log saying.
E:Unable to mount '/system'
E:Unable to mount '/cache'

Ok this morning I have tried the following:
1. Flashed Scanno's TWRP from the OMNI thread using this command:
> fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery recovery.img
2. Booted up into TWRP, again /sdcard is empty.
3. Pushed the OMNI ROM onto /sdcard using:
> adb push omni-4.4.2-20131218-tf300t-HOMEMADE.zip /sdcard/
4. Went to Install and selected the zip then it immediately fails saying:
Unable to mount '/system'
Am I missing something here? From above i see that i flash 'recovery'. Do I need to flash 'system' with fastboot?
no, but maybe your PITs are corrupt. do you still have an older nandroid backup you could try to restore first?
oh just read that twrp asks for password. is that still the case?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep it's still asking me for a password.
What are PITs?
I'm not sure if I have a backup. When in TWRP if I go to restore it can't find any. It's like the whole tablet is wiped. Does this have something to do with not having the ability to mount anything?

HELP
So I just tried getting cm11 on my tf300t, i installed TWRP 2.5 and rooted my device, everything went well. I then did a factory reset and wiped cashe. I tried installing then cm11 zip file with no success. I get the message that it failed. And now im on a device with no ROM to boot into and no working ROM to flash on the device.
Since there is a SD card slot on the device, would it be possible to put another ROM on there and then flashing that?
Please help me!

in order to install CM11, you need a special TWRP modded for KK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48508679&postcount=7
You can copy a CM11 nightly and the TWRP onto a SD card and flash from there, or use fastboot.

A little info for those stuck at 49% using LG Flash Tool

I just want to share my experience after a bad flash and no way to recover.
I was still able to get to TWRP. I had flashed a Rom and it went bad. Long story short. No Loki causing boot into fastboot screen.
Tried using flash tools to restore stock with kdz. No good kept stopping at 49% because it was not the expected firmware.
The fix.
Wipe system in recovery then try again. With system wiped. The firmware matches and installs as expected.
Just wanted to share my experience. Maybe it will help someone else with the same problem.

Hi, sorry for my english , I'm french
I wanted to flash a custom rom on my LG G2 D802 .
I wanted the Paranoid Android (PA +) with 4.3 JellyBean .
So I made the
Backup
Wipe data / factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe dalvik Cache
After I
Choose zip ( custom ROM ) from sd card
Then I
Reboot System Now
And turn on my laptop, I get an error message saying
[640 ] started Fastboot Mode
[ 690] udc start ()
I realized I had to flash AOSP kernel before changing to a ROM paranoid . But my kernel is blocked and so I have to go back to the stock ROM
When I did this tutorial using lg tools , flashing stops at 49% with an error message .
I also saw that I could access the recovery mod by following this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565904(but I saw that I could not otherwise reboot my phone after it was bricking ) and therefore flash my stock Rom which I had made the backup . But I do not know if the ROM has been saved and if it remained in my files after the Wipes.
If it is not there, is that in buying a micro USB ====> HUSB adapter, I could install a stock ROM from a USB key ? Or is there a way I can put files from my computer to my laptop which has no port micro sd?
And is what I could with my kernel "blocked " ?
Thank you very much

It sounds like you have access to recovery, so you can use adb to push or pull files from your phone. Your backup should still be on your phone, as long as you didn't wipe the internal storage.
I'd suggest pulling the important photos/videos/backup/files/etc from your phone to your computer, then wiping internal storage or wipe factory reset. Then hopefully it wont get stuck at 49%, as that is what I did for my friend's D801 to allow it to go back to stock 100%.
Exactly what i keep telling people with the same issue, Just do a full wipe in cwm/twrp before restoring to stock. the problem is allot of them can't get into recovery :silly:

Destroyed my girlfriend's phone

Someone please help me! I was trying to install Philz recovery by flashing it from twrp recovery but Philz recovery didn't show up when I tried going to recovery mode. Instead the screen just went black. So I restarted the phone and tried to use the android terminal to flash it manually by typing..
Su
dd if /sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm sdcc.1/by-name/recovery. (I don't remember the message the terminal gave after that)
Now, judging from the fact that 1)the internal storage is now empty. 2) browser crashes when trying to download files and 3)superuser won't work for any app (apps that I'm trying to use to somehow flash back the twrp recovery so I can restore a backup ex. Flashify)... I'm assuming I made a mistake when typing in android terminal. Is there any hope for me or do I have an expensive paper weight?
Extra info: I can boot into the rom (aokp 4.4) just fine... No more data or cell connection... wifi still works. LG G2 803. Bell Canada.
Please if anyone has any tips help me out. Thank you in advance. I'll continue searching for forums for answers.
Edit: a potential solution i found is to flash a stock rom with the "r&d tool" but will that bring back the files in the internal storage?

[Q] My LG G2 is stuck in a boot loop after installing Cyanogenmod 11.

I rooted my D800 LG G2 and then I installed TWRP. I installed Cyanogenmod 11 without wiping but I performed a backup using ROM Manager. It didn't run well so I wiped everything but the data so that way I would keep my apps. Then it went into a boot loop so I wiped everything. It was still in a boot loop. I have no way of connecting it to my PC and the backup was deleted. How can I get it out of the boot loop?

U should flash stock rom to fix it
And for future reference, when you change roms you *MUST* wipe the data partition. If you want to backup your applications, use something like titanium backup to make an app by app backup and then restore after you've installed the new rom.
Me too, was stuck on boot loop but was lucky to have another rom in the phone and flashed it in TWRP.

He deleted all the data and caches after each step of the installation too. But last night while he was asleep it booted itself into TWRP and is now stuck in a boot loop. But download mode is not accessible because USB debugging was not enabled yet (I think that's the reason it won't enter download mode anyway). So does anyone have any idea how this can be fixed?

Ok I'll try that. The AT&T version automatically updates and doesn't give you an option to stop the update so that may have happened.
