Your welcome
u must have root privileges and must enable R/W mode
if u don't know how to install using root explorer
paste the app to system/app
Did you try just to push the .apk with rootexplorer to system/app/ ?
Cause system apps don't need to install in the normal way I think.
[EDIT] to slow...

Y you can set RW to system with SGS tools:
Apply script--> mount_system_rw.q.txt
tada you can move anything to system/app
when you move apps to system/app folder, you need to set permissions to rw-r--r--
This can be done by setting permissions as:
Read Write Execute
User Check Check Blank
Group Check Blank Blank
Others Check Blank Blank
Apps should then work
Thank you all guys, now i know how to move them or change them, thanks a lot!! Thanks thanks thanks ^^

If you put .apk's in /system/app you need to change the permissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot

i already put them there by changing the r/o to r/w and rebooted afterwards
still no theme chooser app
and also realised that theme chooser was never installing instead it was giving an error ( actually not an error, just saying its not installed and aborting the process )
Yes but you still need to change the permissions for each file. After moving them, long click on the file and select permissions, change it to rw-r--r-- then reboot and it should work.

How do I fix permissions or is there an option to do that in clockwork mod?
Also, would it be possible to use mobileodin to do that instead

Putting it into data/app installs is, fixing permissions is just so it will show in the app drawer
Make sure you have Security => Unknown Apps checked and Verify Apps unchecked
Apps install fine for me by clicking an .apk
Use Root Explorer or ES File Manager, it's probably the MY Files preventing it.

smart remote for galaxy s4 and candy crush saga v1.0.7
After removing some bloatwares in 4.4.2,some users face auto rotation problem. It is because you remove Samsung Hub. Titanium backup removes lib files for unintalling apk.
Solution :
1. extract libgnustl_shared.so from the attachment zip.
2. Copy and paste to System>>lib and change permission to rw-r--r--
3. Reboot and enjoy!
Sorry for bad english.
Strange because I had the issue since moving to official Kitkat. After some research, I found and did what that post says :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50099965&postcount=9
It fixed the issue, but every few days, screen rotation is not functionning. A simple reboot seem to do the trick, but I don't feel like it's normal.
Any further idea ?
Thanks for the information, my rotation is working again. It happened after I removed some system apps, but all is well after restoring the library file.
Can someone please upload the file to this thread please and tell me where I can find the system file?
Removed Samsung hub via Titanium backup and now my Auto Rotate doesn't work.
PLEASE!!!
Thanks
Download the ScreenRotation.zip from the link in the 2nd comment, extract the library file and copy it to /system/lib with permission 644 (EDIT: rw-r--r--).

I would think it should be fine to remove the app using something like Root Explorer.
Worked
Worked fine on S4 I9505 4.2.2.
this never happened on 4.3 neither 4.2
this seems to be some update in Hubs then i assume
But it fixed the issue.
The flashable zip didn't work.
So I put it there manually.
Strange though because I've always deleted samsung hub and auto rotation has been working.

Hello all,
My device is an ls980 running rooted, stock kitkat. About a week after the ZVC update (kitkat), my Lg Gallery application stopped working. It would not open, giving me an error message saying that "gallery has stopped." So I tried an "uninstall" application from the market to uninstall the stock app, and then I attempted to restore/reinstall it again. Every attempt I have made has been unsuccessful and the app cannot be installed.
So my question is: how can I get the Lg Gallery application reinstalled and working properly?
Thank you, I appreciate anyone's help greatly.
How did you uninstall the stock gallery from the play store when it's not available on the play store and I'm sure the reason it's not installing is because the app needs to be placed in the system/priv-app folder and needs to be given the correct permissions
Sent from my LG-D800 running stock kk, rooted with philz using XDA app
I uninstalled the app using a "system app uninstaller" application. The APK file is still located in my system/priv-app folder, and I have even tried installing it from there using root explorer. What permissions need to be applied?

you apply the rw-r--r-- (0644) and then reboot, the phone should say android is upgrading and it should be working again

Those permissions are already applied to the file, but the APK still refuses to install even after a full reboot.

I copied the odex file over to the priv-app folder and added the permissions, but after a reboot, the gallery still will not install.
Perhaps the file is somehow damaged?

I was able to get the app installed again (although it did it on its own after a reboot and some tinkering...); however, the gallery still cannot open as before.
