Quick question is there going to be a new thread for this device, the Tmobile Z1s? Also do any of the rooting, unlocking, and or any custom recoveries and roms work with the Z1s?

No sub forum for Z1s, no unlock bootloader, no root, no cutom recovery as of yet. And no you can't use international Z1 stuff, itll brick your device.
Thanks

Thanks, good to know as I was planning on flashing the generic Canada firmware hoping to get rid of some restrictions (tethering) and bloatware.

Ah that's a bummer. Just swapped out my Z for the Z1s today and of course I'm came here first to see how to go about getting other FW on it for those exact reasons. Hopefully patience will pay off.
I have a question for Xperia z1S owners. Does this phone have hardware support for FM Transmitting? I don't have a car with an aux cable or Bluetooth so.. All of the music on my phone is inaccessible when I'm driving. But I'm hoping that the FM receiver can be made to transmit either natively or via 3rd party app?
I personally have the Z1s, and it has a built-in FM chip. You have to have a aux cable plugged into the 3.5mm jack for it to work though.

Why can't we get a sub-forum? There is like 4 different forums for the Galaxy S4 and the different carriers, same for Note III? There is enough difference between Z1 international and Z1s to warrant difference.

Ah but can you transmit to your cars radio onto an unused radio station? I know it can receive radio, but can it transmit your music through unused FM stations?

I get the little blue phone up in the status bar if I switch my setting to wifi preffered but I haven't tried actually making a call on it yet to see if it's truly working.

Just gave mine a shot. Turned it on, called my friend once the blue phone icon was up, icon turned green, call connected and worked fine. Afterwards I got a pop up saying congratulations you just completed your first wifi call.

I read something about it not working if you don't have a 911 address on file. Mine works wonderfully btw. No more buzz from my n4
My only issue is the led is weird. Hads different colors depending on the angle

Do you have an old sim or your 911 address not updated on your account? One of them could be the reason. Go to a tmobile store they will fix it up for you.

I use "What's App." Works great across different platforms (and especially for international texts - no fees!). It's like an instant messaging service, but it piggybacks your cell network if you're tethering.
EDIT: sorry, I forgot to mention that it only works if the other person has What's App, too.
I use Google voice, only thing that you don't get are the picture msgs.

Try HeyWire Link ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5tZWRpYWZyaWVuZHMuY2hpbWUiXQ.. ) in google play it is free and it works. Takes a few min's to setup and a little thinking because of the way the help files are, well there english is not to good lets put it that way. But it works very well. Hope that helps
Yes, I also use the fantastic product: 'Tablet Talk'

I just use Google Voice which is linked to my Sprint account. Only downside is that you can't receive MMS.

Yes. Tablet talk syncs to your phone via WiFi or Bluetooth..so technically its using your cell service as an "extension" to your cell phone. I love it.

Google Voice, however like someone mentioned they haven't incorporated MMS into it yet.
Will try Tablet Talk tho.
I've used Tablet Talk for a couple weeks now and it hasn't really worked for me. I'm thinking that it's probably because of my phone. Does anyone else have a Galaxy S II/N7 pairing that works?

Be a bit more specific For example..are you using a 3rd party SMS program such as GoSms or Handicent? If so..read the FAQ for tablet talk.
Whats the issue that you're having?
Seriously amazed by tablet talk, my galaxy s3,suffered the sudden death syndrome, so was in a fickle, bought a cheap Huawei blaze and it's tethered to my phone and having to use tablet talk for texts and calls is amazing. Those using tablet talk for Blue tooth calling how clear is it.

If I'm not mistaken, In tablet talk you have to be connected by blue tooth or on the SAME wifi. An app called CLOUD SMS doesn't require that you be on the same wifi, I can receive text on my n7 even if I'm connected to wifi and my phone is not.

Yup, exactly the same. Not so much with WiFi tho. I did read that if you didn't sign in with your gmail account on first boot then u need to reset your entire handset and sign in again from the very start using the gmail account. Some say it works others say it doesn't.

Similar problem here - Am on T-mobile UK but the carrier hasn't changed to EE like it had on my previous phone (anybody else like this?)
But yeah, have no issues over wifi but occasionally mobile data stops working and the bars go grey; when activating data connection it sometimes takes quite a while for them to turn blue.
Anybody managed to rectify the issue with APN settings?

Anyone ever figure this out? Switching to airplane mode helps me but this sucks.
Out of the blue I've lost my Wi-Fi capability on my S4.
I've restarted & turned off the phone to no avail. My phone shows up on my router's control panel as active as well as a couple of apps I have.
I've also forgot the connection & reentered all necessary info. Mobile connectivity is fine but as soon as I switch Wi-Fi back on, no tweets, FB notifications, etc.

I don't want you to root either. It sounds like to me that it's a hardware issue with your phone.

Hey all I was just wondering if anyone is having problems with receiving calls. It seems to happen more and more lately. What happens is the phone rings and I answer it but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. The phone then disconnects. It doesn't matter where I am so I don't think it's a phone network problem. I travel all over the place as I'm a truck driver. It seems to happen more when connected to a Bluetooth device but now it's starting to happen when not.
I'm am rooted and at present running on stock. It doesn't matter if I'm on stock or a custom ROM it does the same thing. I'm really regretting getting this phone and ready to go back to my DROID RAZR MAXX HD. I like the phone its blazing fast but it has issues which I've asked about before. I bought this phone on the Edge plan and did line swapping to keep unlimited data. But I'm ready to throw it in the garbage or sell it real cheap. Or starting all over and leaving it unrooted and see what happens. Really wanted root so I could tether when ever I want. Any suggestions?

Is anyone else having any issues with the speaker when they are making calls on there S5? Whenever I'm talking with someone on the phone every 4 or 5 seconds I hear a low frequency beep the lasts about 1.5-2 seconds and then it goes away... After another 4 or 5 seconds it does it again. I really hope it's a software issue as I don't want to send my new phone in for a repair already.

Well if you are not rooted go into settings then backup and reset and then collect diagnostics and uncheck it and this theoretically turns it off, now if you are rooted you can install root explorer open it up make sure that you are mounted as rw then search the root directory for carrier iq and delete it this removes it from the device.

Sorry.. but what exactly do you mean by "disable carrier iq"? Cause I'm a real newbie when it comes to doing administrative stuff to your phone...
I also thought that it maybe could be worth Factory reseting your phone? But I've got a lot of settings and stuff that I don't want to do again.. but if it's really needed I'll do it.

I tried that. But I'm afraid it did not work.. The annoying sound is still active. But the weird thing is that sometimes and on some calls it's occures very often and being annoying as hell.. and then again it can be off for like another call that lasts 30min+.. I hope that it's the phones own speaker that's broken or something..

Yeah. I tried all of them regular settings. Minutebeep, noise reduction etc.. The sound kept going. But I also noticed that when I connected my headphones and talked trough them that there was no annoying sound.. so I guess it's something with the phones own speaker.
But I put the phone on service today after 11 days of usage... lol. Hope they'll fix it!
I don't hear the issue when I'm using bluetooth in my car either. That being said I'm pretty sure it's a issue with the speaker in the phone. Time to swap it out for another device!

Target is ordering me a new device and hopefully it resolves the issue. It certainly appears that the issue is with the speaker.
