Make HTC Pure say 3G instead of H in taskbar

I am running Dutty's Holy Grail R6. I want to make the network indicator in the taskbar say 3G instead of H. Any help will be appreciated.

Why? H stands for HSDPA which is an enhanced version of 3G.

It's just that I think 3G looks a bit better. The H seems a bit strange after all the phones i've used.

I want to make the size tag in my GFs bra to say 38DD instead of A. Any help will be appreciated.

If you don't use or need HSDPA and only the regular 3G is sufficient, just disable HSDPA from advanced connection settings.
But if you need HSDPA & still want 3G icon, then you'll most probably need to do it yourself as per the link provided by "syoungblood95"

Why would you want to disable HSDPA? Just because all of your other phones don't support the faster internet speed, doesn't mean that it isn't the better feature? I can understand disabling HSDPA and 3G (and just use EDGE) to save battery life. But there is no benefit from disabling HSDPA over 3G.
HSDPA supports up to 7mbps download speeds where 3G is limited to like 3mbps. AT&T unofficially supports HSDPA and are getting ready to steam roll out a nation wide upgrade dubbed "4G". Sprint is already advertising it.
Why would you want to disable a next generation feature just because you think "3G" looks better?

From what I experience with my ROM I can tell that "H" is only visible when a data connection in HSDPA mode is active and running, otherwise I have "3G" displayed...and it's quite logical, in fact HSDPA concerns data transmission which is only one aspect of the more general 3G protocol. Anyone know if HSDPA will save battery life?
I need just another 5% daily and 2G is way to slow. Maybe turning off Hsdpa will give me that bit more?

Any idea how to make this work on our Milestones. I can't seem to find the files it specifies to replace. I think it would look really cool if someone could help me make it work. I'm running HO!NO!'s CM7 Mod if that helps. Thank You!

If you mean looks, just replace the 3G icons with the 4G LTE icons. If you really are connecting to a 4G network, replace the 4G icons with 4G LTE icons.They are in SystemUI.apk under /res/drawable-hdpi.
But does the milestone support 4G networks?

wifi and data icons

hey been wondering if Im not looking well enough, or they just arent available for the S4 yet, but are there any different wifi and data status bar icons available? there were tons for the S3 but since the S4 is still relatively new I guess not? Id be willing to donate to someone that was able to make these for me :good: the wifi icons Im looking for look like the wifi symbol and changes color with signal strength and another that says wifi with signal bars above. thanks in advance

PM Goddly, he has the comadose thread in Android Development. He made a different set of wifi and data icons than your asking, but if your donating he may hook you up.

[Q] No LTE after installing liquidsmooth on S4

I installed liquidsmooth liquid-JB-v2.9-OFFICIAL on my SGH-1337M and now am not getting LTE signal.
is there anyone out there that can help me with this or steer me in the right direction..

i read a bunch of posts in the forms talking about this but havent found an answer of how to ge tmy lte working again. ive done speed tests and they are very slow compared to my stock ROM . im a newbie to all this and really dont want to go back to the stock if i can help it.. i just would like to get my LTE working again.. on my signal status bar it says 4g but is slow...

4g is lte on liquid, but it shouldn't be slow. Have you checked your apn?

yes i have checked the settings there they seem correct..
when i run a speed test like ookla my DL is .70 Mbps and UP is 3.66 Mbps

Maybe the place where you made your speed test isn't so good. I had the same problem. I had slow lte speed and then I realize it wasn't because of the rom but because of the reception so I go somewhere where I have a better reception and I get LTE speed. By the way, lte is not always covered everywhere in your state.

Hi guys,
a question,
how do we force the phone in CDMA rather than LTE after this update?
Before the Update in MJ7, I can use the app :4G Toggle (used call Phone Info) to toggle to force in CDMA, but after the update, that app is not working. So Now I have to stay with Global mode or LTE/CDMA/EvDO
The thing is... the reception here in OFFICE is SUPER lousy. so my phone will have very slow and bad 4G signal , unless it is switched (forced into CDMA, which is much faster)
Please help. Now it stayed in 4G so the battery is running faster too, because it is a struggling 4G.
I want a stable 3G than a struggling 4G

Thanks. Are you rooted ? It still does not work and giving me an error message : this app is incompatible with your phone . Please uninstall. Mine is pure stock Verizon galaxy note 3.... not rooted.

I am afraid that certain access will require root privilege after this MJE update. This is the major change of access rights that disabled all similar apps from working.
If the apps you mentioned work for you, others should work too because of the rooted status.
probably I need to go back tonight to use Kingo finally...
