Carrier Logo missing after flashing rom - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hey guys,
My ATT carrier logo is missing after flashing hyperdrive over my stock slot. i used safestrap recovery because i am on mk2. anyone else know how i can get the logo to show in the top left of my status bar again?

It's not an AT&T strictly rom. I believe it's a T-Mobile based rom so it won't say AT&T. same goes for international roms and other carrier roms.

Make sure you flashed the AT&T compatibility pack and check all the Hyperdrive Tweaks as there may be an option to disable or have custom carrier and it may be on. Also, it won't show if you have any notifications.

I flashed the mk2 kernel and ATT modem is that what the AT&T compatiblity pack is? I looked at the tweaks so far Wanam and it only changes the logo on the drop down notifications. Also what do you mean it wont show any notifications? i still get fb notifications on the status bar. do you mean that the led notificator on the screen wont blink a color?

I mean if you have any notifications like Facebook that show up, it hides the AT&T while they're active. The compatibility pack is in the Hyperdrive thread

Remove notification panel

Is there anyway to do this? I'm rooted by the way and am stock
I flashed a google edition rom for a bit and installed "notification toggle" and it prompted me that since I was rooted I could use some sort of app move modifier program to make it stay on the notification panel permanently, basically this is what I want to do with the stock samsung 4.2.2 and have it replace the samsung notification panel, but the app doesn't give me the prompt that says I can use root access

I'm confused, how are you stock if you've flashed the Google edition ROM? And try and post some screenshots!

I don't see anything super user related
And what I did I could on GE Rom, namely have "notification toggle" moved to notification/part of the system (I used /system/app mover) to be a system app. When I opened the app, it told me I could do this since I was rooted (there was no samsung notification panel to over write), but when I open it on the stock firmware, it says nothing of it and I am rooted.
Basically I'd just like to get rid of the samsung notification panel since it doesnt have everything I want and would rather use Notification toggle
You do realize you can edit the toggles on the notification panel right? I used the notification toggles app on my Evo LTE and it is crap compared to the stock notification panel. If you want to mix things up a little, try installing the xposed framework and installing Nottach or Wanam modules and you can change colors, transparency, and number of toggles displayed.

[Q] I9505 - Black / non-transparent status bar on XXUBMF8

Just got an update to XXUBMF8 on my i9505. Before the update (I believe it was XXUAMDE) my status bar was transparent with both stock and non-stock wallpapers. Now it's black with both stock and non-stock wallpapers. I tried installing Nova launcher as suggested by some and turning the bar transparency option on but no change whatsoever. I did some reading and some people had the same problem but just with non-stock wallpapers.
I am perfectly happy with TouchWIZ and everything I just want this damn ugly black bar to be gone or semi-transparent. Not sure if it was some ingenious idea of Samsung's programmers or it's just some bug affecting certain number of phones. Would flashing my phone to the latest XXUBMGA help? Any other solution? If there is any other option, I'd prefer not to flash any mods for now.
Thanks a lot.
Wrong section buddy. This is the Sprint (US variant) Galaxy S4 SPH-L720. You should ask this on the international forums.

Right, must have missed that. Sorry for the trouble mods. I am posting it again in the right section. Please delete.

MK2 Update - Should I do it?

OK, I have 2 S4's
S4 1: Rooted running a stock with a few xposed tweaks.
S4 2: Stock and not rooted.
Should I do the MK2 update to both of them or just the stock one? Keep in mind I do plan on updating the stock one at some point very soon. . . maybe in a few weeks when I get some time.
If one is stock then update it to mk2 and the rooted one keep at wherever you are. I'm running stock mf9 rooted with wanam xposed mod and sort of like it. I too hope to update but I don't want to flag the Knox counter. If you already did that then update all. Mk2 I believe fix deep sleep issues with mja so you should update.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Yeah, the stock (un-rooted) one got the update but my phone (rooted on MJA) has not got it.
Guess I will just have to wait it out until some workaround comes out.
I'm having what I assume is the issue MK2 fixes, that my phone will occasionally be on when I unplug it from the overnight charge. Screen on, warm to the touch. This has only happened since I went to MJA.
If you're not having that issue, I would not bother as that is the only thing this release says it addresses, at least officially. I have not even done the update myself yet, as the problem only shows up once a week or so. I'm waiting to make sure all is well with it and some of the other mods get updated for it first.
Agreed. The update seems to only be a quick bug fix update, not a major release. It has been out for a minute now and I am not even seeing many ROMs pop up using it as a base, nor am I seeing many of the bigger Mods release versions yet. Not a huge update, only worth it if you are completely stock unrooted (because why not?).
I have 2 s4 as well. Both MJA stock rooted with hotspot and boot menu hacks and Phil s recovery. Knox 0x1.
Only one of them has gotten the MK2 notification. My girlfriend hates having the notification. I don't care to have the update. Haven't noticed any problems with MJA. How can I permanently get rid of the notification?
Has anyone come up with a way to upgrade safely just out of curiosity? With Knox and all?
I assume it's as easy as using Odin to get back to base unrooted MJA then pushing the update and rerooting. Just unsure what having Knox tripped may effect.

Just long press on the notification in the notification pane, click App Info and then un-check "show notifications". You can get there through settings too. Settings > More > App manager > All. It's the Google Services Framework app.

Thats what I did, does that mess with any other notifications I should be getting?
I have seen a few people say the update helped with a few things, but have not see any rooted ROMS around here with it added in.

Only from that application. All other apps will still notify you of updates, assuming you have not turned off the notification for it. It's an app by app thing.

AT&T MK2 GS4 Mod & Theme questions

How to change Lockscreen Phone Icon to another app?

I just upgraded to 5.0.1 on my S4 i337 and have Root with Xposed framework (excellent guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/help/guide-att-samsung-galaxy-s4-sgh-i337-t3383078).
When I had 4.4.4, I used Wanam Xposed to place 5 custom app icons at the bottom of the lock screen, but with 5.0.1 it appears there can only be two app icons on the new lollipop lockscreen: Camera and Phone.
I'm ok with the camera icon, but I would like the phone icon to launch a different app - I would even be ok if the icon stayed looking like a phone icon, as long as it will launch a different app.
I tried the new Wanam Xposed for lollipop, and the feature to add custom icons doesn't seem to work with the stock AT&T i337 5.0.1 ROM.
I tried the Xposed module "Custom Stock Lollipop Lockscreen" and still NG - it seems its only designed for ASOP stock roms and wont work with Samsung Touchwiz.
So, has anyone had any luck to reassign the phone or camera app to launch a different app?
Is there some file I can modify to change what app gets launched with the phone lockscreen icon?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can't, unless you want to program your own ROM. With stock, you can either have phone and camera icons or just phone or just camera or neither.

Darn, I was hoping that since the phone is rooted, I could edit a file somewhere that would allow me to chance what app is launched when the phone icon is swiped on.
You probably could if you knew Android programming language. What you would need to edit is probably part of the ROM.
