[SOLVED] Adv. Recovery: Can't mount /data - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi, guys.
I am experiencing some strange issue with my SGY. After experimenting with several ROMs with no issues, I went back to stock firmware. But, after some days of normal use, suddenly the phone got into a bootloop. Definitely it was a softbrick. I can enter recovery menu and use Odin with no problems.
I seen in CWM that I can't mount /data partition, mount command says 'invalid parameter' when trying to mount /data. Formatting does not work, since it is not true formating, only deleting. You can only delete the /data contents if you mount it, but it can't be mounted. I don't know why.
My happyness ends here. I flashed dozens of images, kernels and ROMs, but the issue is still happening. Last time, I flashed the Merruk kernel to get root and start debugging.
I can go into ADB, and I discovered wich /dev/stl11 really was not mounted in /data. I mounted it, then the phone played the starting sound (maybe I achieved one step forward ), but it does not vibrate and keep at bootloop.
Attached is the logcat file.
Can someone give a clue of how to debug this? The SGY has some type of fstab file? where is it?

try flashing stock rom via odin and also include this file in the pit section (unzip it first)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1489509
if you are in europe this firmwire is tested by me - its a wipe pack so should format everything
http://d-h.st/FhE
note all the above is for GT-S5360 only

Good news!

This do not work. I used it already. It appears partition was wrotten to on the partition table itself, not on data area...

I am on Brazil (GT-S5360B), but at last resort I flashed your full ROM (including pit file)... then voila! It works!!!
Since your MODEM/CSC files are different, I can't tune some bands, but the wipe resolved the /data problem.
Now I will try to flash my local ROM again. None of my ROMs does wipe, so I am hopeful!!!
Thank you for this great step ahead :good:

all you need to do is just flash the csc of your region firmware and it should work however below is the full firmware of your phone model
this is the firmware you need for brazil 5360B (general firmware - your carrier might need a specific csc)
http://terafile.co/0669473d6102/S5360BUTME2_S5360BZTOMJ1_ZTO.zip
how ever it is not odin flashable
follow my guide below to split it into odin flashable parts like I did with the european firmware

Thats good - when using stock firmware always best to use wipe packs
you can create your own - see my post above

well if the efs folder's gone you can't do anything about it....lets hope for now that it's the incorrect mounts that got you here. Tell us what exactly did you do on odin before you hit the flash button.

all i did was add the tar file to the "pda" spot, nothing else was selected other than auto reboot. everything flashes fine. if i do this same method with jh2, everything works great, just not with jk4... doesnt make sense to me.
would you not need to flash all files to update correct (PDA,Modem + CSC)
i tried that and it just crashed.
what crashed? ODIN or the handset? are you using a PIT file also? and all lagfixes disabled prior to flashing?
Hey I Have the same problem now. Did you solve yours? If so can you please tell me how did you do it?

All i did was take the sim card out reflash then put simcard back in it didnt show restarted phone with simcard in and it worked.

Pc Odin Stuck on Factoryfs.img! Please Help!

Guys,
I need your urgent assistance .. I think I have bricked my phone and need assistance.. Basically I was running the Official ICS ROM which I got from XDA website it was the LQ2 kernel for the Galaxy Note.
Last night I custom flashed the Criskelo ICS v7 ROM but wasn't too happy and wanted to go back to stock ICS .. So I went into PC Odin and flashed the stock ICS Firmware.. upon booting I went into CWM (Volume up + home+power) did a factoy reset and cache, dalvik cache wipe.. Then reboot system.. The phone was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note screen .. So I tried to Flash the Stock ICS LQ2 rom again via PC Odin and now it just hangs almost at 90% at factoryfs.img?
Am I completely messed up or is there a way to resolve this please can you guys assist me in what I must do.. I don't know if this is a soft or super brick..
Many Thanks..
PS: I even did the PIT file thing and still no joy
you custom flashed??
what do u mean u custom flashed??
Get a rom with bootloader in it. Don t use repartition. Make sure you flash the bootloader.
Sounds like you wiped from a stock Samsung kernel, which is a big no no. The only way to fix this is to repartition your phone with a .pit file that has been designed not to use the the corrupted sectors of your internal storage. If you search hard enough, you'll find a thread about it. I successfully recovered a phone I bricked way back with the first LP1 ICS kernel. It does work! You'll lose some space though.

Yes I factory reset a STOCK ICS ROM .. please can you assist in what I need to do.. Which PIT file and which ROM Shall I try to flash with.. please assist.. Many thanks..
Thanks for your help guys .. followed the german dudes tutorial and downloaded the .PIT file and managed to re flash stock ICS .. Now the only issue is my internal memory is showing 8.24 GB.. what happened to the other approx 8GB? I thought the Note was 16GB? Before windows used to show it as 11GB but now showing 8.24 GB is there a fix for this or is the bad or do I have to live with it.. ?
read the whole tut again it tells you why since you have to move partition tables.
Yes...it's a rather small deal anyway...there are 64gb SD card after all.

My advice is "live with it". Coz what the "German dudes" pit files do is avoid the "locked" sectors in your internal card. While you can try different pit files or try create new partitions via adb -- you probably wont gain much.
Or you could send it to Sammy for a warranty claim, after resetting the flash counter and then bricking it again via odin using the original pit file. Basically what you need to do is erase all evidence that u tampered with it. This is a risky option... (You can tell them phone got messed up in kies upgrade). This happened to me (on an almost new note, so i kinda did the same, except that i went a step further and deleted the boot-loader as well = hard brick. However i dont recommend it). And they replaced the phone.
I emphasize again this is risky -- and do more research before if you do this.
Problem as of now is since you've modified the pit -- and also the phone is working, you cant claim now.

Thanks for your assitance bro.. I will live with it. .I don't mind loosing 3 gb .. Already got 32GB SD card so no issue. Just happy its all back up and running really.. Big thanks to the German brother you the man
Its Forest1971 who first wrote this workaround and it was hg42 who rewrote the pit file and it was Dr null who proposed this way, Its all XDA members who helped you out of this brick. Not some German sites. Google throws up German results first
I am not harsh by anyway saying this. Just want to write it as it happened.
Was witnessing all the issues.
I am writing a guide for Noobies for bricks. Guess I get some help ....

I actually followed his guide and repartioned manually and only lost about one Gbyte vs using the pit file and losing over 3 G bytes. Took a lot of trial and error though

hi! i was in the same state as you! now, listen very carefully. Now, all you have to do is to use another PC and run ordin. Everything should work fine! My note was soft-bricked yesterday night and i had tried endless counts of tries just to get it up and running. Just earlier today,I saw someone who posted a comment in a similar forum and suggested that you should try a different PC it worked. AND IT worked for me now, just use this pit file that i had upload and download any (G-N7000)stock firmware that has (code.md5, modem.md5 and csc.md5). just place the pit file in ordin. ( do note you will lose 3gb of your internal memory) and click start hopefully it worked for you

Not necessary to use the 3gb regain patch.
There's a 1gb or 2gb regain patch also. And it's enough.

Though so many ppl told u alrd, i just want to say, in any case, when u r in ICS alrd, it is totally prohibited to do factory reset through CWM with samsung ICS original kernel.
When u need to wipe or factory reset, make sure u r on a safe kernel like speedmod or notecore.
If u want to recover ur note, just use the pit file method. It works.
Make sure u use the correct patch of 16gb or 32gb, depends on ur note.
Always try from the smallest patch, so u won't loose so many storage.
Anyway, latest CriskeloROm with speedmod is the best for battery life nd performance.

(Help) Note 4 bricked, unable to mount data

Hi guys, i have some big problems with my n910f, tried to upload a pic to facebook and my phone crashed.
It simply does nothing, not booting, not charging, download and stock recovery are working.
I tried everything possible>
*flashed 3 different stock firmwares with odin
*tried a pit file repartion in odin
*wiped cache, did a few factory resets from stock revovery
*bought a new battery
*tried to root and flash a custom recovery but doesnt work
It is simply as bricked as it could be, the only information about this i have is stock recovery telling me unable to mount /data
So it seems my filesystem got corrupted as hell
The question is, how do i repair it?
Like i said pit file and bootloader flash did nothing, odin lets me flash everything without an error but it doesnt help.
I assume i could somehow repair it with adb fastboot but how?
Any help is welcome!

It may or may not help but I would sure try Kies. You NSFW get done errors like Kies telling you is not compatible bit but I would try the firmware initialization.

It confuses me a bit that it doesnt even charge, could a broken filesystem lead to this?

Also, if I use this method how to upload to the phone the actual Official OS? I know it can be downloaded via sammobile but is it possible to DL from Kies and upload via odin ?
UPDATE: Well, can you please tellme how can I erase cache/dalvik cache/partition from my current stock recovery (using Lollipop 5.1.1)
Yes, download an official firmware from Samsungupdates.com or sammobile, flash it through odin and then boot into recovery and clear data and format system.

Haha yeah I do have a lot of experience with that since I downloaded many firmwares and also roms. As for that virus thing It is just an Ad, don't worry about it I have downloaded firmwares from Samsunhupdates many times. If you don't like it Go ahead with Sam mobile. Once you download the firmware things will be very simple. But remember download the firmware for the country that you are in, for an example if you are in the middle east download XSG ...etc Just download an app called Samsung info From playstore and it will tell you what your CSC code is (country code For firmware) okay. Once you download the firmware tell me, so that I can guide you step by step.

Here is a step by step guide to flash a stock firmware using odin

Once you flash the firmware, go ahead and boot into recovery, it should take you to the original recovery, not philz or cwm, the original recovery. Once you open it, go ahead and format And clear Your data along side the cache.
Ps: you will lose EVERYTHING that is on Your phone, but that's what you want right?
Goodluck!

So please gimme guide/link of Philz as well OR even you can explain than i can follow procedure as you said.

Right from the start I just want to know how to install philz (Some say on SD card and some some other assorted ways) AND, after deleting cache/delvik/partition.... what command to give in order to flash through odin (I know how 2 use Odin).
Its simple - But then instead of answering this you are here to insult me... well, guess too much free time OR angry with your family & GF !?

What is your phone Model? N900? N9005? Tell me so that I can find a Philz recovery for you mate.
I highly recommend twrp as philz is no longer updated and was based on cwm.
Well actually am using international Note 3 Neo (Model: SM-N750).
Now, I have researched around and landed on this page:

According to above my phone aint supported..... So now shall I still go ahead and use Philz ?

Yes tht is my phone - Let me browse around, search videos on how to install & use this and revert back with any questions I may be having.
PS: The official Samsung Lollipop OS tht I want can only be downloaded via sammobile? Is It guaranteed to be 1-by-1 image of the original source...
You can just use Odin to flash the stock firmware from sammobile.com. Yes, it is original and untouched.

Mate, my phone is facing extreme lags and slowdowns after upgrading to Lollipop via kies.
Now this thing have happened in my old Note 1 with JB as well....
All-in-All, till I don't delete cache, dalvik and partition and reflash the firmware this problem aint gona solve 100% and hence want to use anything like TWRP etc.. to wipe tht first, but I had completely forgotten how I had done last time. BTW, after deleting the said phone cache etc.. I can directly rebot my phone go to odin and flash?
PS: I am still looking how 2 install twrp and under which menu I can find all those options - Gimme sum time to figure this out.
In some instances, stock recovery will go a better job of wiping the phone.

You realise you are in the wrong forums... right? The Neo has it's own forums at THIS Address so you should be asking your questions there. Advice in the Galaxy Note 3 forums may not work and may even brick your phone.

Worked for my VM version of the phone. I think the phone sets itself from the network(Sprint, Boost, Virgin) when you activate it.
Very well ,Confirmed Works on boost mobile only method. helps me get off or bypass screen massage Blocked by FRP ,flashed with Odin thanks
Thank you very much! Also for the confirmation it works..... (i did hit the thanks button)
Downloading now,....... Just got this device due to a insurance claim so this is a completelt new phone to me and I really want to either start or add to one specific form till we get a complete spot on the fourms.... Any way my ideal or a good ideal for us is to add everthing that is confirmed working as on today and add it to one fourm and reserve like 10 entrys for specific problems and the solutions. Or just in a easy format so everything is not so confusing till we get our device a Fourm started instead of a thread thats confusing and hard to follow.... Anyone with me???? Its a new device and we need development so bad.. im stuck in a bootloop as of now and cant find the info to help me and its so aggervating.... someone will have to maintain it of course

recovery booting ...blue
This does not work. I've tried it multiple times on multiple versions of Odin. This will not work if you use Boost Mobile. It either fails, hangs at flashing boot.img, or hangs at SetupConnection.

This works to get you back to stock from bootloop. I tried my hand at rooting this little SOB (TWRP,Magisk) and tripped the Knox counter bc I forgot to wipe it. Reboot came up with "Validation Failure" and I was stuck. I stumbled over this post and with nothing to lose other than $130.
First piece of advice...Use Odin 3.12.3 ONLY!! I tried the latest version and it didn't work. Download the files, place them in the appropriate boxes and flash. reboot into recovery, wipe the cache/data and you should be good. Mine took quite a while after hanging on the Boost mobile splash screen, but about 3 reboots later, it brought me to the configuration screen. It's up, running and I even got the OTA software update, but then again, it is stock.
