Hey,
on Desire HD rom, I played through Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Gameloft HD Game) without any problems. (great game btw)
Now on CM7, however, it's not working anymore.
Most of the background-textures are missing. It's no fun walking through a black landscape with black objects...
Switched Roms back and forth for a bit and came to the conclusion, that its working with htc Roms.
After having googled, I came across the same problem on Xperia X10 devices. That's odd, cause they are the same Hardware (also manufactured by HTC) - also without the HTC Software.
So the questions:
Do AOSP roms have a different graphic lib? Or are they missing libraries?
Anybody else with this problem?
I don't want to give up CM7 just to play that game... :/
Thx.
... So no Idea, anyone?
Hi Peeps,
Just thought i make this Post * Got my brand new Sony Ericson Play the other day Gingerbread 2.3 installed *
Issues with 2 games:
Nova and Nova 2 Black screen no game playing but can here it, just a black screen no game play.
Can we post any issues with Games, and if possible solutions found.
Thanks
TapperOUT!
Mate, go to the gameloft forum.. The tech support there are ok considering there are a few issues with their games:
http://forum.gameloft.com/index.php?board=1.0
Just to confirm I have same issue with Nova.
Still waiting for them to release an update for PES 2011 so you can play with the hard keys!
First of all, sorry for my english.
I think there's a GPU driver problem. There's a lot of FC with a lot of games.
Okay, it could be the developer but why just the SGS2 have this problem?
The games:
Defensoid
HexDefense (now it's incompatible with SGS2 on the Market because of the problems)
Cut the Rope (when using rotating wheels in gift box)
Any ideas?
EDIT:
Just recieved an e-mail from the HexDefense developer. And yes, I thought right, there's a lot of bugs in the Galaxy S Gingerbread update and there's a lot of bug in the SGS II Gingerbread sw. So Samsung did it again. I selled my SGS, I've buyed an SGS2 but maybe this is the last time I buyed from Samsung. The hardware is good, but the SW is a crap again and again.
"Unfortunately, you're right - the game crashes a lot on the Galaxy S2. It used to work fine, but they introduced Gingerbread and the Gingerbread update for the S2 added a few major bugs. Hence, we've stopped selling it for that phone.
I'm working to find workarounds for the bugs that have been introduced in the Gingerbread update and hopefully we can get it working on the S2 again soon. You're definitely right- a lot of people use the S2!
Thanks, I'll keep you posted,
- Ben Gotow

Try playing with sound off, it might not be gpu related as other games also crash when sound is on.
You should be right. They f.cked up the sound driver. I turn off the sound and music and all games I mentioned is just works. But it's a shame on Samsung and they have to solved this problem. It's not a solution that playing w/o sound on the high-end phone. Anyway thank you!

ZeptoLab confirmed too:
Thank you for informing us about the problem!
We have received several similar reports from the Samsung Galaxy S2
owners, and we are doing our best to fix this issue in the upcoming update.
At the moment you can overcome this problem by turning the game sounds OFF
in the main menu of the game.

Semyon

Is it going to be worth installing ICS on Galaxy Tab??? give the hardware differences from lets say the Galaxy Tab plus, what possiable benifits would there be from Froyo original, Gingerbread ROM's, Honeycomb ROM's prior versions to the new ICS Ice Cream Sandwich BETA developement, I know what ICS brings to the table, but given having to deal with hardware limitation of original Galaxy Tab, what would be the biggest reason to have ICS on the GT other than just to have it? What apps or user needs could compel someone going thru this task to warrant the work involved?? What categories would be the most beneficial for example Graphics/Photo or File-Management or....
Any insight for people looking in to this project?
I've been running the alphas and betas on my galaxy s for like a week now, and I can't wait for it to run on my tab. I need WiFi and 3g on my tab, otherwise I'd be giving it a go already.
The benefits, well it's fun to play! I think it runs better than anything I've tried on my phone, and think it'll be great on this.
Tmob Galaxy Tab 7
Hi there,
i got alpha2 of the ICS build running on my tmob tab. Works great tbh cept for no wifi and no edge data yet but Angel_666 says he's got data running now and wifi soon.
Someone put up bc4329.ko wifi driver supposedly compiled for our tab and ics and i tried to adb push it to the tab and then insmod it in but got
~ # insmod /data/bcm4329.ko
insmod /data/bcm4329.ko
insmod: can't insert '/data/bcm4329.ko': invalid module format
so hopefully they've fixed that
Also i couldnt seem to successfully edit build.prop within the zip file. every time i did the zip would not install.
finally gave up and just adb pulled the build.prop down off the tab, edited it, pushed it back and rebooted
ICS looks great in the 160dpi mode. Hope the wifi drivers are up sometime this week.
Battery life seems ok so far...will keep more track.
thanks
meh
Good question
One we need to hear more about!
It's worth it...I got alpha 2 on my t-mobile..as soon as WiFi is up...it will be better...battery life is great I got 4 days and 6 hours before my tablet died

LOL... you got a great battery life because you're not running wifi nor data...
Alpha 4
Well Alpha 4 was up last night and i snagged it and applied the root and wifi fixes and everything seems to be working. The terminal app they had included did not work and crashed whenever i tried to "install" it from the market. Also superuser shows up under not install in the my apps section. edit: now it seems the thread doesnt have alpha 4 listed?? wth
Otherwise wifi is working fine.
I cant seem to find adobe flash player in the market now either just AIR...is there no flash for ICS?
if you are running the build and seem to be stuck in portrait mode and want to switch to landscape, open the camera app and it will switch to landscape then hit home again and bingo - stuck in landscape mode now.
Hello,
It is not ready for daily operations, but looks very promising.
For now it is wise to stick with alpha3 with patches and do some testing.
I took a look at the thread over the development section. i'll give it a try here in a bit I think, just to test it out. if the bugs and kinks can get worked out, such as the camera, then I think it will pretty cool. that's just my $0.02 though.
My experiences with ICS on VZW tab.
Graphic Acceleration not working or not smooth (UI, Browser) but good enough to play Sudoku or Angry Birds without lag.
WiFi slow on establishing connection but fine after connection.
Orientation not working correctly.
Some font and UI resizing issues, some launcher features missing, miscellaneous minor issues.
[And I think GPS is not working, but I do not use the tab GPS anyway]
[Camera is not working, but no big issue for me]
Other than that, the AOSP build is working wonderfully. I can play music, video in portrait, read email and sync with MS exchange (I think that's all I do). And of course, get a sneak peek at the new Android OS and the SDK!

The ICS issue aren't due to the hardware not being able to do ICS stuff but more so lack of binary files needed to support said hardware. Given that the Nexus S OTA is out now we should start to see some progress. Don't ever expect a 100% working rom though.

ICS is great, the UI is much better, and it´s optimized for Tablets
It is definitely worth to install ICS on galaxy tab as it is design for tablet, been using it for days and find that the alpha build is quite stable except for some minor bugs but it is still usable.
It is still in Alpha stage but the rom will get better in the next release

Definitely worth it, if only to have a Tablet-oriented OS on the Tablet. Using ICS on the Galaxy Tab is such a hugely pleasurable experience. My wife has an iPhone but loves ICS. So much so that she's getting my 2nd Galaxy Tab when I've finished playing with ICS on it (i.e. when we get a version that's good enough as a Daily Driver) and we'll fund another data SIM for it.

Hello everyone, i am using the Note 3 N9005 for a month now, and it is a great phone indeed. However, i switched from Galaxy S2 i9100 to Note 3 N9005, and while on the S2 (running 4.1.2), i could do YouTube background playback without any problem with the SuperTube Pro. After i bought my Note 3 ( which came with 4.4.2 ), i installed SuperTube Pro again, and when i am trying to minimize SuperTube Pro, the music just stops, and there is not Background Playback. When i maximize the app, the music continues playing.
When using the app on 4.1.2 S2 and Note 10.1 ( n8000), it is ok, so i guess its some problem with KitKat.
Anyone experiencing same issues? And can give me a solution?
Thanks in advance

Same problem on my s3 running Android 4.3.
On my Old Galaxy Trend was everything working fine.
I think its a tw problem for 4.3+ because my Trend was on PAC rom 4.4.4
