For some odd reason, I am unable to successfully flash a TWRP recovery image to my D800. When I download the TWRP .img from the TWRP website and flash with flashify, it will not boot into recovery. It reboots into a black screen with small white text in the upper-left corner. I had successfully flashed TWRP earlier on, but then wanted to flash a new version and it hasn't worked since. Any ideas or solutions? I have the D800, no OTA. Thanks!
EDIT
Disregard this post, found "freegee" on the play store and it worked flawlessly.

When I try to get into recovery I get a black screen. Then I get the LG logo with a few lines of white writing in the upper left corner for half a second, too fast for me to read what the words say. Right after that my phone looks like it powers off, but it doesn't the screen just goes dark. After I have held the power button for about 10 seconds the phone reboots, optimizes all 247 of my apps, and takes me back to my rom completely skipping recovery. I have tried every way to get into recovery... rebooting through TiBU, goo.im, flashify, rom installer, adb, etc. I have tried going into download mode, all to no avail. I have tried to reinstall twrp 2.6.3.3, cwm, twrp 2.6.3.2 through goo.im, adb, and rom manager. I have linked to a youtube video of what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This all happened after I tried to upgrade my TWRP to 2.6.3.3. The rom that I am on works perfectly, but I do not want to be stuck on it forever.

bad flash. Same exact thing happened to me. Use Flashify to go back to TWRP 2.6.3.2 IMG downloaded straight from TWRP (Google TWRP LG G2). Then you can try again to upgrade to 2.6.3.3 by installing the ZIP file in TWRP recovery (I got mine from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472223 since the one on TWRP's site was giving me flashing errors). I have .3 working on my VS980 now. The .3 VZW IMG file provided at the above link actually was the one that gave me the black screen...
If Flashify doesn't succeed in reinstalling the 2.6.3.2 IMG, then I have no idea....

Thank you for your help! That was exactly the problem. the fix was very simple. I just had to make sure that I applied the fresh twrp 2.6.3.2.img using flashify. the image directly from twrp. On a sidenote it seems as if the 2.6.3.3.img directly from twrp is bad... I'm content with staying on 2.6.3.2 for now since it works. Thanks again.
LG g2 At&t (d800)
I rooted with IOroot and installed twrp using freegee. I was able to try out a cm11 nightly. I wanted to flash the stable CM10.2 but got an error when it reached the loki step. I've tried flashing clockworkmod recovery from freegee, as well as both the "flash through recovery" and "manual" methods from this thread and in all situations when I try to enter recovery mode I get an unresponsive black screen. After a minute or so it lets me reboot into system and I reflash the recovery using freegee back to twrp.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
T.T.T.
can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm not sure what to try next
I have the Tmobile G2 d801, with the modified rooted stock KitKat Rom posted by dr87. I tried to flash the zip for Philz recovery through twrp 2.7, but rebooting just brought me to the black screen that said something about Fastboot.
I rebooted back into the ROM and tried using Flashify to flash either one with the same result.
Tried flashing the extracted twrp recovery image using Rom Installer only to get a boot certification verify error and had to do a hardware reset to get the phone to boot back into my ROM.
Is there a way to get a recovery back on my device?
Trying to install the zip through twrp manager also results in a boot certification verify error, but I can boot back into the Rom via the hardware buttons. Any advice?
Never mind, I held my breath and tried Autorec, that fixed it
I was running a Mahdi 4.4.4 ROM and saw that there was an updated stock ROM for the VS980 with new radios, so from TWRP 2.8.1.1 I flashed the ROM, radio, and bootstack from this. I can boot into Android and I have root, but I can't boot into TWRP; I get a boot certification error. I've tried reflashing TWRP 2.6.3.2, 2.8.5.0, and 2.8.5.1 via Flashify as well as 2.6.3.2 via TWRP Manager and no joy. How do I get custom recovery back?
EDIT: Fixed! I pulled the TWRP 2.8.1.1 recovery.img out of the 27A bootstack zip from above and used dd to put it where it's supposed to go (/dev/block/mmcblk0p15 is where recovery is located). All is well!
Hi,
My device is rooted and had TWRP recovery installed. Then I got the incremental system update. I tried to install the update but it was not working. I searched the web and got a XDA link and yuplaygod's forum link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/yureka/development/bug-fix-update-cyanogenmod-12s-t3108338
http://forums.yuplaygod.com/threads/incremental-lollipop-update-to-improve-battery-performance-of-yureka.12626
Where somebody advised me to go back to stock recovery using flashify app. So I installed flashify and changed from TWRP to stock recovery. But OTA update or manual flashing of system update didn't worked. Then someone advised me to revert back to TWRP recovery and install the update via recovery.
Now the problem is, If I install TWRP via flashify app, its replacing the stock recovery but whenever I boot into recovery, I'm getting blank screen where the flashify app showing me TWRP is installed. Though normal booting is working properly. My question is how to install the TWRP recovery again? Plz help. Thanks in advance.
u might be missing the theme zip file of TWRP... search the forum, it's easily available.... Place the theme zip in appropriate folder in the internal memory (read the manual of the OP) & flash the latest TWRP for YUREKA using the latest FLASHIFY app. It should work...
