[Q] I'm so wondering if my phone can be rooted? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am very new to this forum, the android-based phone and rooting
I have read lots of articles about rooting Note 3 with and without Know tripping and am still puzzled...
I will be really appreciated if someone gives me some info about my question.
1. The version of my phone is
AP: N9005XXUDMJ7
CP: N9005XXUDMJ7
CSC: N9005XSADMJ2
2. Is there any possible way to root without tripping Knox so far?
3. If not, is there any way to downgrade the version so that I can try to root without tripping Know?
Plus, I purchased this phone at a phone shop outright so it is not under contract to any telecom.
Thanks for reading it

Wait... What does that mean being an EU citizen you don't need to worry about knox?

It means you are better than any other person outside EU.

Eu law stated that rooted phones shouldn't invalidate warranty unless the rooting caused the issue.
It's mentioned a few times in these forums. So I presume that is what is being referred to here?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app

Canada also doesn't care about rooting and its not even a law. Although, to correct you, EU law doesn't say you can root and have no consequences unless root causes the issue, it say rooting can be legally done but the OEM has the right to deny warranty whether you are rooted or not.

I would like to use root de la vega but it doesn't seem to support my firmware n9005xxudmj7 and the thread is closed now. Has anyone managed to root this version without tripping knox. I can provide more details if needed

Don't think it will be achieved... is anyone even working on it? - I don't think so tbh - if you can live without warranty take the plunge and trip that bad boy. If not, then you'll have to make do with your note the way Sammy wanted it to be.

Dam, thats really annoying.
There must be loads of people with my phone wanting root, I'll happily donate to someone for a solution. I'm sure others would too.
Guess I should have done my homework more thoroughly before buying
Think I'll just take the plunge as radicalisto suggested
May I ask your preferred method for rooting (last question i promise )
Anyway thank you massively for the replies.
All the best
Maybe when android 4.4 breaks root there maybe renewed interest on rooting without tripping knox. Or maybe there are different vulnerabilities that will allow root, as I believe 4.3 to 4.4 is a big update.
I for one, will wait for 4.4 before i root. For now, i'm happy with stock unroot.

[Q] How to root MK2 without tripping Knox

Hi Guys,
I just bought a new Note 3 because I lost my old Note 2 somewhere in the snow while skiing...
Now the question of rooting popped up of course.
My AP is N9005XXUDMK2
CP: N9005XXUDMJ7
CSC: N9005DBTDMK2
I did some hours of research through the forum but I created this thread to clarify.
As far as I understood there is the possibility to root with chainfires method, but this WILL raise the Knox counter.
So is there any possibility to root without tripping Knox? I would like to not touch my warantity yet as the phone is really brand new, and maybe somebody finds my old Note2 and returns it to me
thanks and regards
For the time being, there is no method available with which you can root and keep knox 0x0 with latest bootloader. Check the urdlv thread.

For the moment I would suggest waiting a few more weeks before voiding the knox warranty
That is exactly my intention too, at least a few months I want to keep my warranty.
Can you give a link to the udrlv thread?

If you are on 4.4.2 MJ4 or newer you cannot root without KNOX beeing tripped. Period It will remain 0x1 wether you flash once or 50 times.

Where i live the N comes after the M alfabeticaly so you will get flagged.
URDLV http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498850 :
What devices are supported?
Just about every Samsung device with KNOX! (Excluding Exynos based devices)
Samsung has caught on and has started patching bootloaders, you can still root, but you will trip KNOX.
If you are running MJ4, MJ7, MK1, MK2 or higher you can still root, but you will trip KNOX!
Is there is any way to make my 3g dongol over otg work without rooting

But all in all, what you are asking is posted on xda and on the web a million times already.
I don't get it why do people even respond to such questions.
My advice, don't even try rooting and flashing.

[Q] Note 3 ROOTING and KNOX

Hi Guys,
I have a new Note 3 (SM-9005) and wanted a definitive answer about triggering KNOX 0x1.
Is it possible for me to root without triggering KNOX?
I am not bothered about Custom ROMS at the moment or Recoveries. Just want ROOT.
My FW\SW details are;
AP: N9005XXUFNF4
CP: N9005XXUFNF2
CSC: N9005OXAFNF4
Any help greatly appreciated.
