Some questions to you ;) (Samsung Galaxy Y)

Hi I'm lipka and I'm new at this forum. As you know I have the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 2 Gb. I have a few questions for you and I hope I can get an answer but when i do not get it and will be sad . I apologize in advance to maybe stupid questions that I will ask you once, but I will mention that I've never had a phone with Android operating system, and Y is the first device I also ask for your understanding. Even in advance sorry for my bad English but I'm from Europe (Poland) and I used google translator. Okay so let's start :
1) What is this whole "rooting phone", and upload it and what is "ROM"?
2) How to change software to the "newest"? (I have XXLE1 ( i have very much lags :/) and i want to change software)
3) How to upload the whole "ROM's" to my phone?
4) What is the best kernel to choose? I ask because there are literally a lot and I do not know which one to choose
5) Which "ROM" the most speed up my phone, improve his performance and will look the best of all ? Give me your's proposites
6) Is it true that the glass front of our very mobile draws after prolonged use?
And the last one: 7) Is the two gigabyte memory card good enough to me that I need to buy better?

Welcome to xda
Rooting is gaining acess to your phones OS and being able to change it
Update your phones firmware like this settings>about phone>Software Update or maybe use odin
As for the roms i heard hyperion is the best but you might want to install supercharger
Installing a rom is easy peasy you go in the recovery when you turn off the phonr. Ita power+volume up+home key buttons ... Hold them until the logo dissapears. And voula your in the recovery.

Thanks man , really thanks 2 you I'm istalling now this ROM . You got for me "plus" : D . And there is the one thing , Can u tell me something about those kernel's ? Which is the best ? What about the memory Card ? Is it good or i must change it to better ?

the best is to test all than u have an expierence and can choose whats the best for u

As CALIBAN666 said, test all of them. They are all used for some particular purpose or other, so you never know which one you might end up liking. Go through their features first.
And about the first post, those were stupid questions. But it dosen't matter to us as new users always come here and we welcome them. What bothers us that threads like this one are created again and again. That's why we advise new users to read the stickies of the forum and search before posting.

if you want to sign it, you can use apktool or dsixda's kitchen. I won't explain further since it is a basic knowledge for rom development. you need to learn it by yourself.

Hey guys, not entirely sure where to port this but here goes.
I was watching the product launch of the oppo N1 and noticed their ColorOS looked like something fun to try out.
Did some poking around on their website
ColorOS forum without translate
Person taking credit for it on XDA with their own forum when it is actually provided by OPPO : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2455932 (side note original link is an ODIN file and this guy did make a flashable zip so he should get some credit
Anyways I was wondering how tough it would be to port it over to our devices aka I9505/I337(m)
Anyone have any tips, maybe suggestions on where to place this thread for better reception?

I've tried to port it a few times, i'm having trouble finding a good base rom so i don't think i'll be able to make it happen myself

I saw that this rom is based on the MIUI, right?!
now, if the difference between the i9500 and the i9505 is only the processor why don't you take the Prism ColorOS ROM v5, and put this kernel download646. mediafire. com/akz46i2vruzg/gy4tnpf6d064f8v/MIUI-Abyss-GT-I9505-1.6.1FSam.zip into it?! I haved this problem when I installed the MIUI ported for the i9500 that doesn't work on my i9505... maybe this is a good strating point! @AL_IRAQI PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO SOMETHING! PLEASE! :crying:

Please give me an aswer! A port of your great ROM for i9500 shouldn't be so difficult: it's just a kernel matter isn't it? can you do something for us?! please answer me!

Or maybe port HTC One Rom

I had thought this as well but previously on Prism v1 i had asked him which base to use and got the following answer

It's not quite as simple as flashing the rom and then putting a new kernel in because of all the back end stuff unfortunately.

I had actually ended up PM'ing him for a while trying to figure it out after i settled the base issue it turned into a kernel issue then a system link issue and then i just gave up.
Might take another swing at it over the weekend if i h ave some free time, we'll see.

Hello ,
Could someone ask Vertumus if they are allowed to Port his theme. I self cannot do it , but I asked him through a mail if someone could do it.
He said they have to ask trough a PM here ion XDA.
So my question is please someone ask him if you may port his awesome theme!

Currently Normal theming is not working well with Note 3
If I flash Single mod also loosing the WIFI imm
May be we have to wait for some kernel / kernel from Wanam Knox free etc
