N9005 4.4.2 non root, no write access to extsdcard - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the "official" kitkat leak from sammobile (the one that is on a srandalone file) for my n9005 with odin 3.0.9 and my phone is still non rooted for knox warranty bit reason
Everythings seams to be ok except the fact that some "file explorers" (root explorer, es explorer...) don't have write access to extsdcard. Am I the only one? Is there a fix?
Uggly samsung explorer (MY FILES) is abble to write there, but other apps aren't.
Sorry for my poor english for I'm french.

I've got the same problem on my n900. The only known way at present moment is to replace file platform.xml with a fixed field, but it requires root. Maybe it's possible to do a temporary root and replace a file, but you need a pc.

No solution for non Root user.
Those not working apps wait the developer updates it will settle.
I notice this as the SD card is not accessible under previous Mobile Odin Pro even after the patch, but latest version already solved it.

su missing setuid

I have a 'problem' (more like a thing that annoys me). I'm posting it here as I'm not 10 posts older to be able to post it in the proper topic (cf-auto-root for note 3).
I've rooted successfully my Samsung note 3 (sm-n9005) using cf-auto-root. Everything it's ok,I can make backups with TiB, browse with Root Explorer, didn't saw any issue till now.
But I found out (using root checker pro) that /system/xbin/su binary is missing setuid.
Strange thing is that if I set setuid on it using Root Explorer, some time later is reverting back to 'su' without setuid.
I have installed SuperSU Pro (chainfire), Root Checker Pro, BusyBox (stericson) all latest versions from play.
Recently I flash TWRP, all working fine, but same setuid missing issue.
Any ideea what can cause unsetting setuid of the su and how to make this change permanent.
Thanks
A big ignore from chainfire, nice...

[Q] Problems with remounting my device

Hey,
I just downgraded my S5 from 5.0 to 4.4.2 cuz I want to use xposed framework to customize my phone (no I dont want to use a custom rom). Now there's a problem cuz xposed makes your phone laggy but there's a fix where you got to edit your build.prop..
Well since I only got read rights I wanted to remount /system and gain rw rights.. Works fine, adb shell says that its remounted n stuff but my phone says I still only got read rights..
Any ideas maybe?
Greetings
PS: Sorry for not being able to show pics or links but since Im new here Im not allowed to post any..

Have you tried using a root enabled file explorer such as root explorer or ES file explorer with the root plug in?

Yes, I used file explorer with root add-on and gave root rights to it

[Q] Stock 5.1.1: sdcard vs. sdcard/0 problems

EDIT: Solved. See post #5.
___________________________
I had 4.4.4 stock ROM, and installed stock 5.1.1 ROM ([ROM][Manta][5.1.1] *03.05.2015* [Factory Images]) with PhilZ Touch recovery, and it's driving me nuts.
1) All data from my 4.4.4 /sdcard is moved to /sdcard/0.
But the system continues to use /sdcard.
Can I move all content from /sdcard/0 to /sdcard to have it all in one place?
2) I use Total Commander with the ADB file system plugin to copy files to my Android devices.
But now I cannot access /sdcard/clockworkmod anymore, since it doesn't show up.
I can only see it in /data/media/0/clockworkmod and it shows owner and group "0", whereas all other folders/files have "1023" as owner/group....?
Does anybody know why?

User 0 is root, that is superuser. Any other number means normal underprivileged user.
I use twrp, and I never faced this problem.

OK. I'll give TWRP a try....
Edit:
TRWP does not move data to /sdcard/0/. That's good.
But now /TRWP/ has user/group "0", so it's similar to CWM and /clockworkmod/.
You may back up your data with adb pull or the twrp file explorer and then format back

Finally I found a fix for my problems here.
That solved all access issues I had with the /clockworkmod an the /TWRP folders before.
:laugh::good:
___________EDIT________________
Made a few more tests.
When I switch back to Philz Touch (CWM), alle new backups are *again* not accessible. I need to run the "restorecon" command again to make the new backup folders accessible.
With TWRP no such problems. New backup folders are accessible right away.
--> Philz Touch caused all the problems I had. Will stick with TWRP from now on.
Not sure though if Philz Touch is the root cause, or the combination of ROM + Recovery...

[910H] TitaniumBackup Can't write to SDCARD after upgrading to 5.1.1

Normally this would be fixed by editing platform.xml in /etc/permissions, but if I try to edit that file I get an error that says the entire filesystem is read-only. The app has already been granted root access, so I'm not sure if this is an issue with root, or perhaps there's something else I'm missing.
I followed the instructions in this thread to upgrade to 5.1.1, then I installed WanamLite from this thread.
Any pointers?
Have your re-root your device?
5.1.1 is a bit problematic to ROOT.
5.1.1 Stock ROM uses secure kernel that causing bootloop when you root it.
Use a permissive kernel to successfully root your device.
Edit:
Your first step (Stock ROM) is not rooted.
I suspected there could be an issue with the root, yeah.
I downloaded a root checker and it says it is rooted fine. For every other purpose it seems to work as expected (editing /etc/hosts to prevent ads works fine, for instance), just not for editing platform.xml.
I had a problem like this problem last week when I moved on to 5.1.1. I was getting a pop-up that said this folder is not writable, when trying to set my folder from the sd card.
Try sdfix by nextapp

If you ever rooted your phone, the knox e-fuse is blown permanently.
You can check this by going into download mode and you'll see knox status as 0x1 (tripped) instead of 0x0.
There is no way to reset this, you will have to go back to a rooted/custom rom with Masgisk and use Magisk Hide to simulate a knox 0x0 for apps. This may not work forever.
S-Health
You can still use s-health by doing the following which i have done and it works..
Download a root file explorer (such as Root Explorer, Root Browser or ES File Explorer).
Open the root file explorer and go to the /system folder.
Open the file named build.prop in text editor
In the build.prop file look for ro.config.tima=1
Change this line to ro.config.tima=0, simply changing the 1 to a 0
Reboor phone
Run the S-Health app
