what will happen if i do an Upgrade Recovery on my LG Optimus L3 Dual SIM e405f using LGMobile Support Tool?
Will I loose root, data, apps installed, configurations? Is the same as do a Hard Reset?
What will upgrade?
I see somewhere that there is an update to LG Optimus L3, but it don't show in my smartphone.

Hey there, I actually just used LG Upgrade Recovery to unbrick my Optimus yesterday - all your data will remain intact, the tool only "repairs" your firmware by reverting corrupted/non-stock components to stock.
For me, I unlocked bootloader, tried relocking and got a boot certify error. Then, I tried teenybin, and my ohone failed to boot...so I turned to LG Upgrade Recovery, force the phone into download mode and voila! Back to stock, no data lost. You will lose root though
Thanks very much, in case I need I will do this.
Hi,
Flashtools seems to not have aany effects on my G2. I'm facing bootloops and I need to go back to stock, but actually whenever I flash my g2 with any versions, I keep getting the bootloops and LG Mobile Support and Download Mode keeps on showing that the g2 is still V20B rather than the differents version I flash it with.
Can anyone please help?
BUMP !!!!!!!
Hey, I have a LG D855, and I'm rooted on A6NL D855 V10G. My phone suggested to OTA update to V10I. Now I want to know if it's safe to do so. And if that's the case, what would happen to my root? I'd actually be glad to be rid of my root since I think it's lagging my device. So, what exactly would happen if I updated? Anybody with experience?
Would think although showing an ota when you download it it won't install as it will detect your root. In order to update you will have to return to unrooted state. A search will show a couple of threads instructing how to.
From what I understand, as long as you haven't made any changes within the system folder or installed a custom recovery, the OTA should install just fine. Worst case is if anything has been changed, it will tell you and it won't install. But yes, you will lose root once it is installed.
root and ota should be ok.
but be very careful if your g3 is bumped!! if you had installed bump! on your device, an ota update fails and the reboot always ended in the recovery. i tried almost erverything - no way out. i had no chance to reboot into the system!!
only flashing back to stock had fixed the problem (incl. loosing all personal data).

When u are rooted, it will download the new update (ota), but it will give a error when it installs. You have to update via pc.

Just had this happen to me on LG G3 for AT&T
Was rooted, got prompted to install the update, I kept declining until it stopped asking.
Then my phone died, after plugging it in and restarting my phone, it instantly jumped into the update window with no other options.
It updated automatically, and it didn't stop or error because of my root. I'm on 4.2.2 now, most up-to-date version on AT&T.
To make it clear: I'm rooted with TowelRoot, NOT with Bump!
I've got an unlocked LS980 G2 that's been flashed to the Boost Network. Currently running KitKat 4.4.2 , but when I proceed with install the phone resets, appears to install the update slowly till about half-way then skips straight to the end. After restarting itself, it's still running 4.4.2 and says no updates are available.
The phone was previously rooted, but I performed a full unroot via SuperSU, factory reset and confirmed via Root Checker. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here? Help me please XDA!
Are you sure the update was for zvg? Could have been an update for zvc, happened to me. I had to tot to zvg(lollipop).

i have the same problem on sprint network please help
Hey guys so im new to the lg v line. Been a previous nexus junkie but made the switch to the v20 Ive had my tmobile lg v20 h918 for about a year now and had no real reason to root or reflash the stock file. But as of recent had issues with lagging and a "lucky wheel popup" malware i believe) . So trying to flash back to the original file and completely wipe my device and start fresh. Im currently on h91810s android 7.0 but cant find a kdz to wipe and reinstall or a working lg up tools software version. I would like to root but from the research ive seen on 10s theres no way to revert back to a older version to root. I was able to unlock my bootloader but aside from that having trouble find any of the other stuff. Any clue??
