Reboots with some Kit Kat roms? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked already, i have not been keeping up with the latest info available...
I have Installed the leaked Samsung kit kat firmware and have tried out all the Kit Kat roms available but it seems to be a hit and miss, some roms boot up fine while others give me a bootloop with a double vibration. The first rom that i tried was echo kit kat rom and it booted up fine, i then tried another rom that booted up fine but decided to go back to echo and now it is boot looping?
The roms that do work seem to be a bit buggy too.
Is this expected on these early Kit Kat roms and CWM just now and may be ironed out soon?
Thanks for any info.

Anyway i have seen to forgotten how to update im on paranoid 3.99 and wanting to update to kit kat PA version but do i need to update my radio? or anything or shall i just flash the rom very confusing
any help is appreciated thanks.
I suggest updating to the latest TWRP and flash the rom. If you get no signal or data, update your radio in TWRP too.

[Q] Kit Kat options for DE?

I have a Developer edition running Beans 6 and have seen mixed information on whether Kit Kat will be available for download as a OTA update or as a custom rom.
I would like to know if Kit Kat will be available and will custom options be available.
Thanks

rooting

Hi
I am going to root my G2 for the first time. its currently on stock jellybean.
I would like to know if I should root now on jelly bean and install a custom rom or upgrade to stock kitkat first and then root?
if I am going to a kitkat custom rom would it make more sense to upgrade to stock kit kat first or is it easier to root from jellybean?
What are the advantages/disadvantages of either?
Hi
Can anyone advise on the above? I know I should be reading all the forums which I will but was just after a quick general answer so I know where to start from. I'm not new to rooting and flashing roms but I am new to the G2.
Thanks
I would recommend updating to Kit Kat first then rooting using IOroot25. That way you will have the latest radio/modem stuff to use KK Roms
Depends on the ROM. If the dev says you have to have Kitkat modem or other stuff from Kitkat, then update and root with ioroot25. If not, it will be a waste of time, so:
Download anything you need from the new ROM and put all in your phone storage (so that if you accidentally brick you still have files to flash in your SD), root, install recovery (I suggest TWRP) and from there flash your ROM!

Updating a L720 from 4.3 to 5.0

I have a Sprint L720 running a odexed stock MK2 rom from circa 2013. I followed all the steps back then flashed a custom recovery and the rom for the hotspot capability and am still extremely happy with how it turned out but... I want all those fancy new features lol. I don't really need anyone to hold my hand through the whole process but I did reformat a few times since then and have a couple questions before I start paperweightin' this.
Everything on here is MK2. Software, Baseband & Build. If i wished to flash a newer lolipop rom to my L720 would I need to apply any updates first? Can I flash the new rom from the custom recovery? I attempted to upgrade the firmware through Kies but keep running into a device not recognized error that I suspect is because I'm rooted. Anyway thanks in advance for your time!

Debating on what to do

What bases and ROMS are you folks running?
Any recommendations on which ROMs you like most?
My AT&T GS4 is on stock rooted MF3 right now. (came from the box with MF3, so I'm only able to Safestrap)
Trying to decide whether to stay Jelly Bean, upgrade to Kit Kat, or upgrade to Lolipop. (And run a Safestrap compatible ROM of course)
So far, I can't seem to find very many Safestrap compatible MF3 ROMS anymore. (I think the only one I was able to find was the Venom one)
On the other hand, it seems like there are many more ROM options with the newer upgrades, but I heard that Safestrap can by finicky with Lolipop? Although I suppose I can always downgrade to Kit Kat from Lolipop. But if I'm understanding correctly, I would never be able to go back to Jelly Bean once I update to Kit Kat.
What do you folks think I should do? Is it worth going to Kit Kat/Lolipop or should I just stay with Jelly Bean and use the Venom ROM?
Thanks!
With a locked bootloader, only TW-based ROMs can be flashed to the AT&T s4.
Yup, there's no going back to JB from LP.
May I ask which ROM(s) is/are your personal favorite(s)?
Trying to decide whether it's worth it to go to Kit Kat or Lolipop.
I do not have the att s4. I have the Canadian version which is the i747m without a locked bootloader; therefore, I am able to use many custom ROMs designed for the snapdragon 615. The note 5 and s6 ports are nice but I am not sure if they can be flashed to the att s4.
