Galaxy S4: Clock/Time on lockscreen disapears after miscall - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and whenever I receive a miscall from anyone, on the lock screen the time/clock on the top right hand corner disappears, and wont return until I clear the miscall notification.
Im just wondering if this is a well known bug or if it happens to anyone else? If not, could anybody identify the problem and provide a solution please?
Thanks

One factory reset solve the problems sometimes:
Make a internal storage backup
From your home screen press the apps icon in the lower right corner.
Find and press the settings icon.
In the upper end of the screen press the accounts tab.
in the bottom of the next screen press the Backup and reset button.
Press the factory data reset.
Read the info on your cell phone screen and hit Reset device.
If no you will have to reinstall ur STOCK rom again :highfive:

Help and advice for T-Mobile MDA II

Hi there,
I'm currently trying to help a friend of mine that owns the above model of PDA. He is having trouble accessing the phonebook to save contacts. Everytime you click to access it it just reverts back to the phone dialer screen. I have tried both a hard and soft reset but nothing seems to work. He also is interested in using it as a GPS system. As it stands he only has the PDA and charger as he lost the box with the rest of the gear. As far as i can tell, i'm going to have to get him a memory card, GPS reciever and some software (probably TOM-TOM) as well as a data cable to load it all up. Any suggestions regarding this would also be appreciated.
thanks in advance
Blokey
my xda2 dident come with a datacable for anything but the cradle
so i would guess that it's the gps antenna which comes with the cable
if it's supports the pda
and you are a bit vague as to what your friend is trying to do when he end up on the phone dialer dialog
you can access contacts by
1 pressing the button in the left upper corner (unless it have been asigned to something else)
2 you can choose contacts in start menu or programs
3 you can press the icon in the buttom of the screen in the menu in side the phone application dialog
When you try any of the things above it quickly flashes up the contacts screen and then reverts back to the phone dialer screen.
Cheers for the quick response,
Blokey

Does he perhaps have a stuck key? Like the phone button stuck hald way? That would cause the contacts to disappear.

Accidental button pressing

Here's a stupid problem I haven't been able to find a fix for --
When I'm talking on my phone, I find that I consistently "press" random buttons on the screen with the side of my face. I'll always somehow accidentally navigate myself into the owner info menu, or the clock and alarms menu, just from my face being against the screen.
It seems silly, I know, but it's really annoying...and I haven't come up with any easy way to keep it from happening (outside of manually navigating myself back to the today screen and locking the phone every time I make or receive a call).
Has anyone else experienced this or come up with a way to avoid it?
Thanks for your help.

Am sure there is an app that can do this - I remember reading it somewhere try a google search.
Hope this helps.
Matt
I just tap the Power button and put it to sleep. So the only button that is active is the power button!!!

Incorrect response from touch screen

Hi there!
I have absolutely ridiculous problem with my THD. All of a sudden screen started to act like it is half disabled. In simple words, if a touch some icon on top bar, let's say Start button, click appears on clock. Basically it is looks like touch area displaced by half an inch down. I've tried to calibrate screeen and it seems like it worked for a few minutes and then turns back. I had to hard reset the whole thing and it did not help either. All images, icons, screen items appeared correctly on screen. Bottom menu bar responses correctly though.
I did not drop the phone if it will give a clue.
Anyone knows what the hell is that and how to fix that problem? Please help.
Thank you.
Anyone? Please...
sounds like you need to re align your touch screen. you need to go to Start>Settings>System>Screen then align screen
If you cant get to this then a Hard Reset might be the only way to go
Nothing is working. Now I cannot even get past screen alignment. Looks like it can be a hardware problem.
u may have to hard reset
then after that if it still wont work then u may need a replacement
Yeah. It sound like it is. Jast called HTC support, did hard reset again and after few minutes it is back to that misalignment. Damn...
Connected to ActiveSync and have you got 'My Mobiler' running? I noticed some strange screen behaviour with that on the Device and the host PC.
try pressing both volume keys and tapping the screen at the same time(volup + voldown + tap the screen) --- it will get you to align screen mode if that doesnt work then maybe you have some problems while flashing a rom or something!

I am having the same problem, it started suddenly somedays ago. I realized that when I hard rest it works fine for some time and then slowly left side of the screen stops responding, after a while only right side react to touch so you cannot access START menu nor anything else from the whole screen, just the left corners.Any solution?

[Q] S4 lock screen: cannot swipe but can click on items

Hi everyone, first thanks to all the people who are willing to help others with their S4 problems!
I have Telus version of Galaxy S4 and it is basically untouched (i.e. no root no modifications).
I have had a problem with the lock screen for past couple of days and tried searching the forum but could not find any solutions.
The problem is this:
In lockscreen, I cannot swipe to unlock the device from time to time. No matter what I do, pressing power button to get to lock screen again, it just won't respond to my swipe motion to unlock the device. This forces me to hold the power button and then click on restart. For some reason it will responds to me clicking on restart but cannot read my swipe motions.
Does anyone else have any similar problems? If so, any thoughts on the solution?
The annoying thing is I cannot replicate the problem but it will happen once or twice a day.
Any thoughts are appreciated!
