I found no difficulty using buttons at all but that just inconvenience so I use QuickMemo instead.
Give it a try.

Curious as to whether anyone has attempted to remap one of the 4 buttons on the Shift as an alternate to the power button on the top of the phone.
Personally I can live w/o the "search" button, and if it's remapped to act as a second power on/on toggle, that'd.....be.....awesome.
I think the power button has to be a physical non-capacitive button. The 4 bottom buttons are just part of the screen and so will not respond to a touch if the screen is off.

Good point, I didn't even think of that. You're right.
Thanks!
Now if someone could get it to turn on after you did a double tap on the volume up button or something. That would be bad-ass.

This is a GREAT idea.
I'd like it if while in the camera app the volume keys worked as camera buttons.

I know what you mean, like some sort of 'profile' based key mappings.

Downloaded and re-mapped the Volume Down button to work as an alternate Power button (since i just use toggle widgets and settings for volume anyway), and remapped Power button to open Camera. Great app!

It kind of sucks. Solution with holding multitasking button was better, because now you have to press button in the right moment and it takes a while to learn it.

I agree it sucks, I have an otter box on my Galaxy Nexus and its practically impossible to press it in the right spot... Google aggregates me by changing the UI for no reason, the press-and-hold power and tap the screenshot option seemed much easier to me.
Is there a way to change this without a third-party app?
it maybe different with nexus, but I was looking for the same option with my Xperia (have a custom Rom, but standard 4.2 system)
I bypassed the power + volume option, by going to settings/system/power menu, and ticked 'screenshot'
hopefully you have this option in settings too

I can take screenshots with my S4 and IP5. But how do you take a screenshot on the LG G2? I tried holding the power button and home button simultaneously but that did not work. Anyone try this?

To insert screenshots into for posting?
Hi, I'm new to LG and tried search for the shortcut key for "screen capture" (Print screen).
Is there any default shortcut key for LG G2?
Anyway how to capture screen?
Thx.

TBH, it is kind of flaky. What I ended up doing was using an app to link a long press of the HOME key to SCREENSHOT.
Works much better that way
Swipe up from the home button and use quick memo on the right. It takes a screenshot and then you just press save.

I use the exposed module "Advanced power menu" so when I hold down power, I can reboot, reboot in recovery, power off, or take screenshot....

Now this I likes!!
Nice! Didn't know about the swipe up from home and forgot about the Advanced Power Menu. I was using that at one point and in the process of putting on new roms all the time I forgot to re-engage it.
Thanks for the protips!
Anyone know how to remap the "Home Swipe Left"?
I would like to see voice search there.
iv search and searched but can't find out how to take a screanshot
I know I can use quickmemo and power menu. but I want a faster cleaner way

press and hold volume down and power as it works that way for many devices.
Could be a little inconvenient because of the buttons on the backside
don't work. running stock rooted 802 10a

Would rather say adding the quickmemo button to the bar via phone options is much quicker.
vol- + power do nothing for me. that's wye I'm asking
You have to push them both at the exact same time, volume down and power. It took me a few tries. What's really fun is if you take a screen shot of just your home page and then open it...you may find it hard to figure out which one is the "real" home page as compared to the fake one by pressing the home button!
