at first i had NFC on KK with a dirty flash ,
then i wanted to flash a clean KK rom then i lost my NFC did a full wipe and installed KK over and over again but no NFC
it shows up enabled in settings but its dark and i'm unable to switch it on and off
any ideas to fix that ?

So, I'm on Stock 4.3, with Xposed Framework and franco kernel. My question is, can I flash the factory image for 4.4 directly, or do I need to wipe data/cache? I know I'll lose Xposed since it's not supported for 4.4 yet, so if my first question is not possible, and I have to wipe, I might as well get a custom rom. A second question is, once Xposed is available for 4.4, can I return from custom rom to stock one just by flashing factory image, without wiping data? Thanks!
to flash the factory img, you have to flash it via fastboot. itll wipe out your partitions when you do flash it, so wiping anything is pointless.
So I'll lose all data anyway if I update? Well damn.

I'm currently running CM11 and I flashed custom dialer in TWRP and I can not restore back to stock dialer. Each time I flash nightly dialer stays the same. I assume I need clean flash of CM11 to overwrite it. But how do I do that? Just flashing currently nightly just upgrades what is there already, so how do I start from scratch?
All the nightlies I've seen are full roms. Wipe system, data, and the caches.
I tried to encrypt my i9505 on Kangpop and it ****ed the /data partition. TWRP couldn't even wipe or mount it, the phone was stuck on the boot screen when I tried to start it normally. I had to flash the stock recovery and factory reset with that to fix it.
Anyway, I am now using Danvdh's ROM. This seems a lot cleaner but it uses the same GPE base and the same kernel (GooglyMax) so I'm worried about trying to encrypt it again lest I get the same problem come back.
So I just wanted to ask if anyone has successfully encrypted their data on any custom LP ROM? I'm worried the issue might be Lollipop's new security measures blocking encryption from working in rooted phones.

I'm still on 6.0.1 if I download and install Nougat via Odin will all my data, pics etc remain or get wiped?
if you use your home csc it should not wipe the data (if your region still dont have Nougat use Csc from latest MM ROM in sammobile), if you flash other csc then you phone is on now it will for sure wipe your data. On the safe side do a backup Also worth mentioning that Nougat is a big update and a clean flash wouldn't be so bad After OTA I was going to factory restart my device but now its running very good so decided not to do that Maybe wiping cash in stock recovery did the trick
i m not having fingerprint option or face unlock options in any of the rom im am tryin
i flashed rr remix, aosip and dp1...... none was having fingerprints or face unlock option in my case
method of flashing
unlocked bootloaader------flashed twrp------wipe data cache dalvik cache system ( tried with wiping vendor also)

Fingerprint option for now can only be available thru permissive mode on custom roms. Voice unlock needs gapps nano package or up.
