How to make archos internet tablet 101 gen8 faster - Gen8 General

I recently got this tablet from my uncle who was gonna throw it out and i said i could try to tweak it .After few days i did the best and made it awesome and cooler than before here i will give the instruction how to make it faster ...
Step 1:
http://www.archos.com/va/support/support_tech/updates_dev.html
from the link you have to download the firmware for your archos device.
you could install it simply by copying it to your device and running it.
step 2:
install a custom rom i choose urukdroid but there are lots of other like cm7 etc
https://code.google.com/p/urukdroid/
above is the link for urukdroid in the website you could follow the steps to install it
step 3:
from here i will explain only for urukdroid as i have not tried other roms
so for archos 101 it gen8 only
if you don't want to install it in SD card then just set it up internally in advanced option it can also be found in the same website
https://code.google.com/p/urukdroid/wiki/Installation
step 4:
after installing the rom you must download arctools(i have attached it) connect it to wifi and install the google market after this
cos without the market what they have given sucks...!!
step 5;
download apps like clean master to remove usless preinstalled apps
download Greenify to bloack unused apps this makes the device fast and saves battery (awesome app)
overclock the device from 1 to 1.1 ghz - https://code.google.com/p/urukdroid/wiki/UrukService_cpugovernor
swap ram memory - https://code.google.com/p/urukdroid/wiki/UrukService_compcache
use launchers which you like it makes the device faster but with over customization it makes the device slower
If you into gaming Chainfire3D could be used to play the games little faster -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087427
if you follow all the 5 steps your device is completely customized and faster than before
please follow the instruction carefully or else you might brick your device and i am not responsible for it.
For any queries PM me.
And if you find any better ways reply to this post about it.

Wow
Just about to bin mine if it didnt work my mede8ter app ( which thought would be only reason for keeping) but didnt so its in bin next to my desk then just by chance seen this...well done for sifting through sites trying to find info and links I gave up long time ago...thank you for this will tell you how I get on...:good:
Mmmmm cannot run market...force close..

THANK YOU!
Bought the tablet used for $25, but it was bricked. got it running on a normal stock ROM but i couldnt get the play store on it. Found this just a few minutes ago and tried it. Got it all working now, (with URUK) glad i found it made me happy. Now i can give the tablet to my mom for her mother's day present!

You are welcome I'm glad my tut has helped you.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app

Sorry for the really late reply , sometime the market app may force close continuously
you can try reinstalling it and if it doesn't clear the problem then do a complete reset and follow the procedure from first.

Boot issues
I've rebooted into og os, then was not able to get the boot menu, even though I was holding down the volume down button. Solution: 1. Power off device. 2. Remove sd card 3. Boot into Boot menu. 4. Insert sd card. 5. Boot into developer edition. :good: :good: :good:

Step-by-step How-To root Froyo for newbs

OK, so I got my stock Dell streak unlocked Froyo last week and I wanted to unlock it. I read the various threads and it was a bit unclear what worked and what didn't. So here is how I did it for you peeps with new Streaks:
Note: this is for Windows only... (has been tested and works on basebands 315 and 318)
1) download and install the Windows drivers from here:
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Handheld/R288920.exe
2) download SuperOneClick 1.5.5 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=437039&d=1289271263
3) extract SuperOneClick on your hard drive
4) put your Streak in USB debugging mode: Settings>Applications>Development>turn on USB Debugging
5) plug your Streak into the computer - do not mount the SD card
6) right click on SuperOneClick.exe and run as administrator
7) click "Root" and watch the progress and follow instructions.
8) if all went well, you can then find the SuperUser app on your Streak.
If this fails, there are a couple of things that can be done that will likely lead to success. One is to try the above procedure with the SD card taken out of the phone. The other option is to turn the phone off and start the root process as above. When the process gets to "Waiting on Device" then turn the phone on.
Hope this helps...
Would z4root be a lot easier and less time-consuming way than above post? I used z4root 1.2, and it works like a charm!

I never tried z4root because most of the posts I read said it didn't work for Froyo 2.2...
Glad there's another way to do it
Anyway, my point was to explain a step-by-step way for newbs like me.
Unfortunately zroot 1.3 does not work on my streak
AND I AM USING MAC, THX ANYWAY
I tried to download the SuperOneClick but my antivirus block it every time because there is a trojan virus
Hello daesdaemar,
Many thanks for your post. It's a good step by step reference. I am expecting my Dell factory shipped Froyo Red Streak to show up any time soon...
DO you have a list of tips and tricks / tweaks to configure, or install some basic but key apps to get your Dell Streak to optimal run state?
A list like this: Once you receive a factory shipped Froyo Streak, do this:
1. Root it (see daesdarmar's method)
2. Set up keyboard for Swype since it's the best option (or download and replace Swype with latest beta version optimized for Streak 5" screen)
3. Install App X and tweak these to speed up processor frequency
4. Install "Bloat Manager" to disable any un-necessary Dell apps etc
5.
6.
7. etc
I was searching around for a nice list of "To-dos" from anyone who recently received a factory installed Froyo Streak but I can't find a good list around and handy....
Let me know if you can help build one or share one ...
Thanks in advance.

I am a new Streaker, so I don't know that I'm the one to compile a list of essentials, but I did the following in the first day or so just to make it seem a bit better/more personal:
1) rooted
2) Titanium Back Up for freeze/uninstall bloatware
3) AstroFile and File Expert to serve as file managers and connect to my home network
4) QQPlayer to watch videos
5) JustPictures! for my photos
6) Multi Picture Live for wallpaper manipulations
7) Kindle and Aldiko readers
8) Dropbox
9) Extended Controls - nice widget
Trying to figure out if there is a better browser...
Just playing with it and having a good time

I recently got a carrier unlocked Streak with Android 2.2 from Dell. I received it with 2.2 on it. Here's what I've done so far:
1. Root it - see steps in OP
2. Install Titanium backup (paid) and freeze the apps I don't/won't use.
3. Install Root Explorer
4. Changed this line debug.sf.hw=0 to this debug.sf.hw=1 in build.prop. See this
5. I use SlideIt for my keyboard most of the time. I like it better than Swype and I had already paid for it with my old phone. I have been trying Thumb Keyboard for landcape and also have Better Keyboard..
6. I use LauncherPro (donation version) for my home app with just 3 screens.
What's bloat and what's useful is different depending on your needs.
Fantastic and very straight forward.
Thanks so much.

Not working
Hello,
I have a Dell Streak with Android 2.2, build 12821, Baseband version 318.
Nothing I have tried has worked to root this ^%$#@! thing! I have tried several versions of superoneclick and other options, but nothing is getting it done.
Has anyone successfully rooted this build version?
Pleeeeeaaasssse help!?!
Woohoo! Marvin02 clued me into this oddball solution:
Remove the SD card and run 1.5.5. It works!

That's what worked for me on baseband 318, using a WinXP pro computer. May also work just by unmounting the SD Card in Menu->Settings->SD card & phone storage.
Even though I was not turning on USB storage when I connected the USB cable the computer was seeing the SD Card as a removable drive in Windows Explorer.

Xperia Play Games Launcher issues

Hi everyone.
Really looking for some help in (very) layman's terms. I've searched in the forum for other people with the same problem but the answers are so technical (to me) they go straight over my head!
I have bought a 2nd hand Xperia Play and when I flip it open it doesn't go straight to Games Launcher and I can't see games launcher listed as an app. Either in the App settings on the app scroll through.
I then tried a few times to download the Games Launcher through Android Market and it kept giving me an error message that it can't download. I've tried restoring factory settings and this has made no difference and have also updated the software.
So, where do I go from here? I only wanted the phone for gaming and at the moment I can't do that! Any help, a step by step guide on what to do etc would be really appreciated.
Good karma awaits!
Cheers,
NB

You can use flashtool to flash a stock rom, You don't need to be rooted or bootloader unlocked to do this, It will restore your device to factory default. Look in the dev section
Hey,
Thanks for replying.
My point about (very) layman's was maybe not stressed enough. I don't have a clue what any of what you typed means!
In the meantime, I've changed Playstation Pocket to automatically start when I flip open and even that's not responding. Wondering if I have bought a dodgy phone!
If you can clarify where to look and what to do RE flash that would be great.
Cheers,
James
I'm guessing you mean this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048422
I really don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Do I download it through the phones browser?
James
Ok flashtool is a windows application. Download flashtool and then search the dev section for the firmware you would like to flash, install the drivers in the driver folder in flashtool, copy your downloaded .tft file to the firmware folder in flashtool.
now run flashtool, pick the firmware and follow the onscreen instructions.
(I'm sure if you searched you will find more indepth info on how to use flashtool)
U said the phone is second hand does it have a super user icon in the main apps menu or one called titanium backup ?
If the previous owner rooted the phone and removed some bloatware it could be as simple as replacing the missing items
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Thanks for all the help.
Unfortunately, after a whole weekend of trying to Flash I'm still tearing my hair out. Just a few quick questions.
1) My phone came without an SD card and I used a blank new card. If the games launcher was pre-installed on an SD - could any remnents of the file remain on the phone itself or is it likely to be a different problem?
2) I have downloaded ES File Explorer - What would I be looking to remove? File name and location.
3) If I still can work it out, is there anywhere I can take the phone to have someone take a look at it? I imagine a normal phone shop won't have a clue.
Cheers,
James
Just download the Xperia pc companion software from Sony and use it to restore you Xperia to stock. It will put the games and everything back to stock. It's the easiest way to get back to stock. Other way is with flash tool.

[GUIDE] x0xHELLx0x's ROMs - Hellfire Kindle

Hellions
all things related to x0xhellx0x rom's and other Hellfire Kindle tweaks / fixes / add-ons
So first off this is pretty much going to house the same information that the g2x guide that TOG565 and I did. Obviously this will be for the Kindle Fire, aka Hellfire Kindle. So since he did all the work in the orig post I’ll just quote the related material. Quoted TOG565 from here.
This is the place where we ease the burden on HELL and utilize open source for its' intended purpose...to help one another for FREE! Kinda like kickin apple, windows, etc. directly in the balls. Please ask your questions regarding issues here. If we cannot figure it out, they will be forwarded to the master. While this is an open thread there are a few rules:
1.) Stop what you are doing and go thank HELL...we'll wait..... (if your out of thanks use the xda premium app, you get unlim thanks)
2.) READ!!!!! And when you think you've read enough....READ some more!
3.) No complaining about tweaks the DEV built into the ROM. More than likely it is just eye candy which is easily removed. Personally, most enjoy the eye candy and is what separates DEV's from each other. Remember, they do this for us for free and could easily dev their rom as they like it and share it with no one. If you do not like something, o.k. ill say it i.e. flames, just read up on how to change it.
4.) For specific issues regarding rom's daily driver performance or if you find something that has helped, please submit via xda PM to me so we can keep the thread clean and reader friendly. If you like certain themes, apps, apps that created an issue, etc. you can post here with screen shots. Let's open it up a bit but stay on task.
For the noobs, not a bad word we were all there too, please seek-out other threads for CWM / rooting issues. These have been addressed by some great dev's on here. Give them their due and seek-out the answers on their threads; thanking them appropriately.
Here we go........
HELPFUL HINTS:
1.) DO NOT use CWM mount/storage to load zip files onto your SD. There has been a known issue with CWM corrupting the files during transfer. Use a stick/adapter and load directly from PC.
2.) Ensure you have at least 50% battery left
3.) DO NOT touch the Fire for AT LEAST for ten minutes after first boot. Allow the ROM to 'move in' before changing the furniture.
4.) Complete several on/off cycles BEFORE you report an issue.
5.) Reboot at least once daily so that things can get moved back to their proper spots after the party.
6.) UPDATE your apps when installing an updated rom!!!!! Apps are one of the biggest causes of issue's with new roms as the app dev's struggle to keep-up with the master. Worst case you have to uninstall and re-install some apps.
7.) SEEK your answer first...i.e. slow data - check your settings, is the proper one checked, cycle through them all to see if it repairs itself, etc.
8.) When in doubt wipe it out, fix the permissions and reboot
9.) Ensure you have updated super user or supersu(super user update fixer - tx Thibor) and checked unknown sources under applications.
10.) If you have done it all and first boot isn't running right...do it over but skip Google load on first run. Follow through everything else, let sit, reboot then load. If you are still having issue's then, and only then, should you be asking for help.
11.) If all resources are exhausted and you are standing on a ledge....ask away but please, please include what you have done to your phone after ruining its' Virginesque state. i.e. ov'd, uc'd, donkey punched, v6'd, dropped in the toilet, changed kernels, etc. We use this info to compare with other known issues or to try and replicate your exception/process failure while "seeing" what the source of the issue is.
***These are just SUGGESTIONS - don't be the one moron who asks why it is so or that you've never done these and your phone could beat up my phone, etc. If you use them great, if you do not great, if you lit yourself on fire great........etc., etc.

[JB] Slimbean for Xperia play Guide (Thanks to; cj360, cosmic dan and lupus)

First of all i would like to say a massive thanks to:
- Cj360 for the epic Jelly bean Rom
- Cosmicdan for his awesome kernel
- Lupus as well for his awesome kernel
- And everyone else who made this Rom possible, I thank all of you !!
So now with the intro, I'm new to the forum and i shall be testing different Rom's and kernels and giving feedback mainly on the Xperia play R800i and the Xperia x10 mini pro U20i, recently I've been trying a lot of different Rom's and i stumbled acrossed this JB slim Rom (For the Xperia play) and i was extremely impressed with its performance. The interface is simply stunning, blazing fast and built firmly compared to other ICS and JB Rom's.
Here are some of the specs i gathered from my phone's settings
- Operating system, 4.1.2 Android Jellybean
- Model Number, R800i
- Slim version, Slim-3.1.0-20130202-2346-UNOFFICIAL
- GSM ( Note GSM Version is for UK only)
- Kernel Version
2.6.32.9-Turbo_v3.1 [email protected], #66
- Rooted (Built within the kernel, Both Cosmicdans and Lupus)
[ I have attached some screen shots of this Rom ]
If you have an Xperia play i would highly suggest trying this out, as it is one of the best I've seen on xda:
Here is the link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
Installation Guide [For people who do not know how to install anything]
DISCLAIMERS
Before you start anything, I'm not responsible for any: Bricked devices, dead SD cards, boot-loops, etc (You know the drill). You do this of your own free will
Ok with all the serious chat aside lets begin. Firstly you will need the following:
- Unlocked boot-loader -----> Follow this guide from Sony:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
- Flash tool -------> Get that from here:
http://androxyde.github.com/
- The Slim-bean Rom -----> Download slim-bean in Second post, pick GSM or CDMA depending on where you are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
Below are two links i found showing all countries that use GSM and CDMA, hope it helps ! (If your still confused do a little bit of research !)
GSM -----> http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
CDMA -----> http://www.cdg.org/worldwide/index.asp - The kernel -----> Get either Lupus or CosmicDans turbo kernel (There both epic!)
Lupus kernel from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861970
Turbo Kernel from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1817548
- AND A VERY IMPORTANT THING YOU MUST HAVE IS ..... patience's
Ok if you have everything lets start the guide (Note: Make sure everything is done on windows 7, as its easier than older versions of windows)
1. Before we do anything make sure that you have a unlock boot-loader and you have a downloaded the following files:
- The Rom itself ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
- The Google apps -----> http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
- The Kernal -----> I did Turbo Kernal http://www.mediafire.com/?ncgvp2qcuns9m (NOTE: PICK ZEUS as that is the code name for Xperia play)
- Flash tool -----> http://androxyde.github.com/
- Fast boot Package -----> http://db.tt/B5vG1ynM
- R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf ------> https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3UZttldr317Zm4xRnQ2WkRFbHM/edit?pli=1
2. Preparing your phone, make sure that you usb debug mode on and file transfer to MSC and allow unknown applications. Next you must connect your phone to your computer or laptop via usb, and open up flashtool and remember to install the drivers, they are located in C:\Flashtool\drivers and install the xperia play driver, fastboot driver and flash mode drivers. (MAKE A BACKUP OF ALL YOUR FILES IF YOU HAVE TO)
3. Go into flash-tool and select flash (Its a lightning sign) and then press flash and open up the directory where you downloaded the R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf and flash it. Wait a few secs or minutes depending on your computer/ laptops speed, then a dialog will open telling you to shutdown your phone so shutdown and wait until its completely off. Now connect the end cable to your Xperia play and hold the back button and connect your USB into the computer and wait for it to flash. This can take some time and you must keep hold of the back button until its completed. After completion it will ask for you to unplug the USB and turn on your phone so do so, then it will launch up the Sony sign and it will pretty much look like the original firmware you had before. Now moving on, once booted up you must skip all settings and wait for the phone to fully load once the set up is done go back to setting and make sure again that USB debug mode is on, unknown sources is enabled and it is in MSC mode. (Note for CDMA R800x users you don not need to flash the R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf )
4. Now connect the usb to the computer/laptop and place the Rom and Gapps onto your sdcard (Make a folder called Custom Rom). and then disconnect the usb after thats done.
5. Now this is were it can get complicated, so please pay attention. You must now shutdown the phone and disconnect it from the computer. Extract the fast boot package (Note: i would recommend to do this all on windows 7) and place it on desktop. Now drop the kernal you downloaded into the same folder (In this case i picked Turbo kernal, so i place it in the same folder). And holding the SHIFT KEY + RIGHT CLICK will open up a little menu (like when you right click anyway) and so you click on open command prompt here (CMD). ok now you type in the following code (In this case the turbo kernal) :
Fastboot flash boot boot_zeus_turbo-v3.1.img
Now it will say waiting for device so you now have to have you xperia play of and hold the search button and plug your usb back in then it will start transferring the kernel onto your xperia play, wait until it has finished and then disconnect your phone and boot it up.
6. You should see the sony sign and the Turbo sign underneath at this point you have to keep press the volume down button -
and then you will enter into a screen where it shows slot 1, 2, 3 and 4. So press slot 1 and then it should say: Boot, TWRP recovery, change slot and Tweaks and mods. So press recovery and then you will come to a screen with different options. First you need wipe data so goto wipe and do a factory reset and then go back and wipe dalvik cache and go back again and wipe cache.
7. Now you must go back and press install and it will show you, your sd card so now you must go to the folder that you name 'Custom rom', like i said before and now install the slim rom, it will ask you to swipe to install so do so and then restart your phone !!. (WARNING DO NOT INSTALL GAPPS STRAIGHT AFTER INSTALLATION OF ROM, INSTALL ROM AND THEN REBOOT AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE FLASHING GAPPS).
8. So now you have rebooted your phone, you should see after the sony sign, the world 'Slim bean' flashing. Wait a bit for it to boot up and then fill out the basic installation form.
9: restart the phone and install Gapps through recovery but do NOT WIPE DALVIK CACHE OR CLEAR CACHE OR FACTORY RESET, just install the gapp zip the same way you installed the rom in 'Custom Rom' folder and then restart.
10. you should have google apps now but the screen might look very small at first and so to fix this press: Menu button> System settings> Interface> Genral UI > LCD density and follow the steps. (This fixes issues with the screen and allows you to use apps like Facebook)
11. The final step of course is to enjoy your new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Rom and Remember to thank everyone who made this Rom possible!!
So all in all i would highly recommend this, if you currently hold a Xperia play and your fed up with gingerbread then try this out, you won't be disappointed !!
Did i miss anything, if so reply back and i'll do my best to answer your question.

Re: [JB] Slimbean for Xperia play Review (Thanks to; cj360, cosmic dan and lupus)
This is a rather good guide. You might want to change the title. By saying "review" it could give the impression that you were just giving your opinions on the ROM. I used this guide to put slimbean on my Play and i found it easy to follow and understand. However, transferring my apps and data is such a pain:banghead:. I bought TB Pro as well but it tends to hang which leads to frustration as i have to go through the process of which apps i want restored and which ones i don't again and again. It's quite tedious and slow. Anyone know how to make it work "properly" or an alternative?

Thank you for the reply
I look forward to make more installation guides for people in the xda community and i agree i think i should change the title from 'Review' to 'Installation' (My bad sorry ). This is my first installation guide and i'm very happy that you were able to use it and install the slim Rom, as for the apps i think if you have a Google account anyway you should be able to backup your apps from your previous firmware e.g. Gingerbread. I think if you go to Play store then press menu and go to 'My apps' you should be able to see apps installed and previous apps installed if you swipe to the right (However you have to install them individually). I know how you feel though I've been trying different Roms and every time i find myself re-installing and backing up a lot of data, but for now i'm not sure if there is fix or an alternative for TB pro. But i would suggest backing them up manually for now via play store, until there is a way to do it all at once. But nevertheless I will try my best to give installation for all different roms (Hopefully for all phones), making it simpler and helpful for people to understand. Currently i'm studying in college but when i have time i will post different Rom installation guide, but for now thank you.

Good guide, noob friendly. I was just about to whine but I haven't found anything useless here although just edit the first post with flashing kernel via flash tool as it's much quicker and easier for everybody.
And it's called kernEl not kernal

Well don't get me wrong but all you actually have to change are just few lines in the thread and the title of the thread... Seriously, it's good that you've created such guide but come on, creating like 10-20 threads for different roms which doesn't actually differ much in the installation process? Come on, it's just bad...

I like Appextractor from AppsbyAndy. It lets you extract your apps from a nandroid backup. It's not perfect, sometimes apps are missing, but I like it WAY better than TIBU. The only thing I use TiBu for anymore is removing system apps I don't want.

EpicAsianGuy said:
GSM -----> http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
- The Rom itself ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975851
- The Google apps -----> http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
- The Kernal -----> I did Turbo Kernal http://www.mediafire.com/?ncgvp2qcuns9m (NOTE: PICK ZEUS as that is the code name for Xperia play)
- Flash tool -----> http://androxyde.github.com/
- Fast boot Package -----> http://db.tt/B5vG1ynM
- R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf ------> https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3UZttldr317Zm4xRnQ2WkRFbHM/edit?pli=1

I loved the performance of the rom. True jb feel with amazing customization tweets. Checked high end game FIFA12. Works great.
But the rom ultimately is useless for me until you come up with a gamepad and touch pad fix.
WE HAVE XPERIA PLAY. But without the gamepad working; gives such an ordinary feel. sorry.

Why so much hassle to gain your fundemential right to make best use of the hardware

before this htc 626 a32_ul phone i had nexus 7 (2013) 32gb tablet which was simple to root, and make use of my system as best i could, but without any access to sdcard to add extra storage space for apps and media i might like to store , i always thought i was half cheated out of the full potential of possible maximum use of the hardware i had paid for, now i have brought htc 626 a32_ul phone with 16 gb memory, i was thinking that is ok i root it like my nexus , but never realised the problem that s-on causes would cause me, and with the bloat ware that htc installs that i have no use off the memory free to use for apps is even far smaller than i had thought i would have, media i can store on sdcard and is only dependant on size of my sdcard, but the number of apps i can use is severally restricted by the limited internal memory,if i had known of this problem before purchase i would never have brought this phone, i like the phone , i am ok with its working speed, but with the amount of space taken up by bloatware that i have no use of ,i now wish i never brought this phone, it has driven me to learn lot more about android system in trying to root this phone and now feel lot more confidant in using adb and fastboot cmds and have even help couple people to recover their phones from bricked status in the process which has given me some small compensation . but really i would just liked simple purchase of phone and additional sdcard and install at will what apps i liked with plenty space on sdcard for music and films or tv recordings i would like to see, and also be able to remove or move to sdcard any bloat ware that i dont much care for, the high use apps i would like to keep on main memory and those apps i dont use often moved to sdcard is simple really if i dont use much i dont much care about start-up time , but if i use often then i would like to start up asop.
this is how os should work for the benefit of the user.
But android is being designed to force people to buy the high end phones and tablets with large internal memory so they can maximise profits,
su or superuser program is like 100 kb of space yet even so i paid for hardware i am not allowed use of super user privilege . so i am sold a phone hardware that im free to choose what phone provider i want , but am not allowed to use my phones hardware as i want until i void my warranty and install a custom rom that will give me access to my root system even so i own the hardware outright to use as i want, i not free to use the open os as i want, is weird situation . a bit ilike being sold a kettle to make tea , but you are not allowed to make coffee because of limitation imposed by the manufacturer, and if u do make coffee with such machine you invalidate your warranty.
also with htc 626 ?? suffix x, w p, h , s,g all having different chipsets we are let in a minefield of matching up boot recovery and root,
regards frank gambit
my thoughts on this htc 626 ( is so many pref-axis ) prefix wtf would be more appropriate universal prefix appropriate to this phone.

that is my point that link is for htc626s custom rom which is a qualcomm 210 chipset, my htc626 is a32_ul chipset and i think is also called htc626x in asia the custom recovery rom i need to root my phone i have found link too but is Chinese site that u need be knight ranked to download but i dont know how to get to knight rank,
they have a link to a file named twrp-2.8.7.0-a32_ul.rar the site is ai-development.org http://www.ai-development.org/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=8345 , so i waiting till i get knight rank and free to download but as this sight is in Chinese and doesn't work correctly in gogle translate it is hard to navigate to do the task to gain this knight ranking thing.
Not the only one
I found this site as well when researching a way to get TWRP for this specific Desire 626 model. I made an account on the website but it is too hard to decipher how I am even meant to earn levels or coins etc. I tried but was unable to get far.
I THINK I have 10 coins but I still need the lvl 5 trainee knight thing and am just classed as a lvl 1 civilian. God darn. >_>

Managed to get custom recoveries for it
So I managed to get two image files and when doing the fastboot boot command, it didn't display the error for not having a dtb as the recovery is rebuilt for this device (as far as I can see anyway). I flashed each file as well to try each of them that way instead of the boot command as the boot command just froze the phone and both gave the same result. It will boot into recovery mode but will have a blank screen and not do anything.
I'll link the files download links, as well as the source as to where I downloaded the files here below. All credit should go to the creators of the files.
Try them out and see if you can get them working yourself.
As a note, I am unable to post links due to the account type I have as it is now so put mediafire before those links with a forward slash. Also, one is for TWRP 2.8.0.0 and one is 2.8.7.0. Anyway...

Good luck and let me know if you make any progress with these.
