Any way to get the sliding status bar brightness feature that's in cm on stock?

Display brightness app allows you to make a configurable bar anywhere on your screen if you want. Its actually really nice.

Where? I can't seem to find it. I'm talking about the brightness changer where if you just click the statusbar and drag left or right, it changes the brightness.
Under theme tweaks, status and navigation bar, the option is there in beta 1.6, works very nicely, also the gravity box xposed module has it and it works for g2 but that interfered too much with the other xposed module so the tweakbox option is better

I have Verizon with a Brightness Toggle for Custom, 10, 50, and 100%.
Getting used to it. I love the slide though on custom roms.

I recall WillyJay having quite the selection of color notifications (SMS, Gmail being the main ones I enjoyed) mods for the Galaxy Nexus. I'm curious to know if they're available for the Nexus4. I've never been a fan of gray notifications. Thank you in advance.

I was referring to the notification icons in the status bar. Sorry if I was unclear. I appreciate the response though.

I don't know bout the the notification icon itself (though Apex Launcer + Apex Notifier will actually append a badge on the application icons if I have any pending messages), but this is built into SlimBean if you want to change the color of the notification LED per app without using a 3rd party app.
This app lets you customize the soft keys more than stock LG does. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.janis605.softkeyz
It should let you add a Recents button etc. Lemme know if it works. Thanks

Didn't work for me.

Try UDN Pro. It gives you ability to customize the keys to a bunch of preselected icons, lets you set your own background to the soft keys, transparency, height, etc.
It also gives you the ability to hide the keys, and make them visible with just a swipe up from the bottom of the screen. It looks great.

Thanks for testing it. Did you happen to try UDN pro as the other posted mentioned?

Hmm...it works, however the bottom of screen gets covered up when you hide the stock navbar because the screen is not pushed up. This is obviously because I don't want the navbar to ever hide. If I could somehow offset the bottom of the screen somehow...

Can you make it transparent so they don't block anything on screen? I might actually like that better than a black bar offsetting the apps. Just a thought!

Oh I see what you mean. I'm trying it now on my nexus 4 just to test it. I guess that's why it defaults to a touch or swipe to make it appear, and it hides itself after X seconds or when you interact with the screen. I sure wish it could offset the screen. I wonder if you can keep the LG bar turned on, but remove all the buttons? Is that possible to keep the navbar offset?

I doubt you can remove all the buttons from the stock nav bar. I'll just stick with the stock navbar for now until we get some themes and such for it.
You need to root.
I am using GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys, it is pretty awesome. I bought it because it gives you a lot more features. It replaces the soft keys with the more normal Nexus keys (Back, Home, Recent). I have only been playing with it for about half a day and I am very happy with the features. Playing games, watching slingbox, reading kindle, watching mlb.tv all full 1080 hd is pretty much the tits.
Hey guys. I was wondering if there currently exists a mod or rom that has a brightness slider in the notification drop-down and a hot spot toggle. Thanks!

Grabbed this plus the new search all from Android police. Launcher looks good, but I seem to lose knock on. Am i missing something or is it baked in the launcher?

For me, it still works, but not all the way. To turn the screen off, you have to knock on the status bar. Once the screen is off though, I can knock anywhere to turn it back on.

I have been running the GEL since i got my G2 and everything works perfectly? no issues with knock on whatsoever.

That is how knock on has always worked...you knock anywhere(normally towards the center) to turn on the screen and for me at least(ATT D800) you tap on the status bar to lock.
If you installed GEL wilk the LG transparent navbar and status bars go away? If not I might give it a try

One other thing, is anyone else's gel not listening? Hot word detection isn't working at all for me, and it's sweet on my n7.

With the stock launcher (at least for me) I could knock anywhere on a blank part of the desktop to lock it. I can confirm that knocking on the statusbar does lock it. Not quite as convenient, but not a big deal. Thanks to all who helped me figure this out.

Been running apex launcher since the day i got it... you can get knock on to work on your homescreen with apex if you download "Screen off" from the play store and from homescreen you can hit your menu key>>Apex settings>>Behavior settings>>Desktop double tap>>Launch app>>There will be two of them one is just "Screen Off" and the other is "Screen Off and Lock Configuration" just check the "Screen Off" hit ok and your good to go and the icon packs only make it better, sporting that 2.265 gHZ quad-core processor with adreno 330 its smooth sailing on apex and i experience no lag at all over all great experience with lots of customization to check out in the settings sadly no transparent nav or notification bars though... not a problem for me though
Just wondering if this is even possible? The black and white notifications on the moto x look so sleek.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
If I'm not mistaken it wouldn't work right because this is an ips display. The moto x is an oled display. Difference is that the x can turn on just those individual pixels needed for that notification while the rest remain completely off. With ours, the whole screen would have to be lit up (although in black) which would make it drain far more battery.
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
You could use Knock2 which does almost the same. Although impact on Battery will be higher for sure.
But you can try it at least https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.knock.knock.demo
Dynamic Notifications works pretty good.
