So I completely wiped my LG G2 ATT D800 via twrp after the OTA update made me bootloop. i am running TWRP 2.6.3.3. I would try and get back to stock via the flash tool but my PC wont read the phone. Device Manager Says LG-D800 but has the happy little triangle next to it! I don't have ADB on my pc so i think the sideload option is out.
right now i will try and learn anything to fix this phone. so please give me some feed back. Right now all i can do is boot to TWRP. I can not get to download mode. so please give me some options where or how to get ADB and what to do with it. I have installed every driver available but no dice. Maybe because it in TWRP. idk. Thanks guys.

Try installing adb from android SDK...very simple and sideload a ROM...my guess would be easiest....for your PC recognizing your phone do you have the drivers installed? Try koush universal drivers?...or try going to download mode and flash to stock ....hope this helps

I have the VZW LG G2 was running a stock rooted rom with CWM recovery. Accidentally accepted the OTA this morning and now my phone constantly boots into CWM. I have wiped everything, done fresh installs of stock rom, CM11, Gummy 4.4.1, and done a restore of the stock rooted rom but still boots straight into recovery. Any help would be awesome.

So there's a Verizon OTA now as well? I thought I read it was for the AT&T variant and maybe T-Mobile.
Anyway, good luck solving your problem. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I've also got a Verizon G2.

Yeah it showed up last night and I hit install later, which I guess it did automatically during the night. Should've just frozen Update in Rom Toolbox and not had to worry about it.
Anybody know if this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 will work for CWM 6.0.4.4??
I really can't afford to mess this phone up with a hard brick. Just switched to VZW and she told me not to root cuz I would mess it up - can't let her be right lol.
Well it looks like I cannot get into download mode either. When I press the Vol + and plug it into a computer it still boots to CWM. I also assume that debugging is turned off because I cannot send commands via terminal. Cant find any threads on here that address this issue with CWM only TWRP. I had been using TWRP for so long too I want to kick my self for switching back to CWM! Would be an easy fix if CWM had terminal
Well I finally got it to work by using a linux computer. No Windows computer would recognize the phone and I tried four different computers.
I just installed the jdk the sdk then followed the directions on this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
I hope that this might help someone else. If all else fails just run ubuntu from cd and do it that way no drivers no problems.
thanks for all the help.

I tried the koush drivers and it would show up as an android device but it still wouldnt let me push the commands via terminal. I've seen a lot of people with simular problems. I'm hoping that this thread will help someone.
I have a better idea to repair this problem.
1- You have to install LG Phone drivers and Android.sdk
2- Download TWRP for LG G2 and paste it to platform-tools folder in android.sdk direction on your PC
3- Go to recovery and plug the phone to PC
4- Next, in your phone recovery CWM you have to choose install zip and install.zip from sideload. Then wait for install the drivers of phone on your PC.
5- Open console in folder platform-tools (shift + PPM) and type adb sideload nameofTWRPfile.zip
6- Then reboot phone
7- Next enter to another time to recovery (now will be TWRP recovery)
8- Enter advanced and terminal console
9- Choose select and type the second option from this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
10- Reboot phone
In my case is everything ok, but you have to remember that you can't install any OTA on custom ROM !
Sorry, but my english is not so good
thank you so much! This worked

When I got my ATT G2 I rooted it, and installed TWRP custom Recovery. A week ago I got a system update notification, without thinking I updated the phone. It rebooted into TWRP recovery, and all I can do is navigate around the Recovery. I factory restored my phone, so I don't have SU, and I can't enter download mode. Any ideas on how I can fix my phone, or go about getting it replace?

You could try pushing a rom to twrp from adb if your PC doesn't recognize try Koush universal drivers to make it recognize

Could you give me instructinos on how I would do that?
I was having the same issue after accidentally installing an update on my VZW G2. I tried evey solution for 9 hours with no luck including the Koush universal drivers. The only way I could get the phone to be recognized by any computer was to use ubuntu. Once I had the JDK and SDK installed I ran the commands from this tutorial - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
I hope this helps someone out
if you dont have ubuntu installed on a computer you could always make a live cd and run it from that

So I am not sure what I did, but I was just trying to flash the Grievous ROM earlier and it would not work, just kept going to a black screen on start up even though I didn't get any errors when installing. I retardedly forgot to make a backup so I have nothing to go back to. I tried to go into download mode to restore through the LG tool, and amazingly somehow it now says my phone is a D802.
I can still get into recovery and download mode and haven't seen fastboot yet, but I can't get my computer to recognize my phone in adb or sideload while in the recovery menu... Not sure what to do. It sucks that this phone doesn't have removable SD.
Anyone got any ideas? I've looked through other threads of people who have had this problem and luckily(I think) I still haven't got to fastboot. I was thinking if I can just get the stock files on there I can flash it in TWRP without having to even use the LG Flashtool, but I am at a loss for how to get the stock ROM on my phone.
WHAT DO I DO?
Install the kernel for the d800. To hey your phone to be recognized in recovery you will need the proper drivers, try pdanet. Drivers
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
Okay I successfully got adb to work in the TWRP menu with the pdanet drivers, and I pushed the stock rom .zip to my phone but it won't let me flash it. Where do I get just the stock kernel?
Nevermind, got the ATT stock rooted rom from scotts site to push and install, which still gave me a black screen but afterwards but made download mode work, so got it back to stock! YAY!
I have an LG G2 vs980. I can get into fastboot and TWRP but for some reason the touch screen is really wonky and when i boot into download mode it takes me to fastboot. Right now im running Ubuntu but i can re install windows if i have to. Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Well im kinda new to the rooting thing but I believe my phone was only soft rooted. I was trying to install twrp but I got a dead android with a explanation mark or it would go to a black screen after the lg logo.i didn't know I was soft rooted when I was trying this. so after awhile I gave up. my phone still booted normally without trying to go into recovery. recently an update for android came out ( kitkat 4.4.2) so I decided to see if it would work. it restarted the phone to install the update and it got stuck in fastboot mode. i managed to find a way to install twrp using fastboot and adb. i did it but the touch screen was all funked up and i ended up wiping the system i think. just cant win. twrp wont mount the drive eiher. maybe because i have Ubuntu?

well first the reason your phone died is because of the update you did after you had broken your stock recovery, if you have twrp currently there are two things you need to do:
1)get rid of the update using this
2)adb push/sideload a rom and try to flash or try and get in download mode to restore to stock

no fastboot is only for restoring the phones stock partitions but if you use twrp sideload feature it should flash it once it's done copying it(I know that's how it works with philz)

now i just need to figure out whats going on with the touch sensor. idk if its the phone or just twrp
I've posted in a few places here on xda but no responses yet, please help! I've unlocked bootloader, rooted, installed twrp, tried to flash cm13 but had the wrong gapps, so it failed, I tried to wipe and restore a backup I made in twrp but it says my device is corrupt then halts at the Google logo. I think all I need is to push the correct gapps to the phone through adb but I can't get my stupid pc to recognize it anymore. I boot into twrp, plug it in to the pc, tried multiple tools and sdk adb route, but nothing works! I have all the drivers installed, and reinstalled, keep getting a Windows error "The procedure entry point WSAPoll could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll"
I read somewhere that the ws2_32.dll is only available in Vista and up... I'm running xp, I wonder if that's my problem. Sorry for all the posts and long explanations, I'm just frustrated and need professional help
You could get that dll somewhere and add it to your windows. I never flashed under Win XP... Also, you could try to download the factory image (NRD90U) from google. Boot your phone on fastboot mode and flash all the .img one by one and should be back to stock... That should fix your problem hopefully!
How do I boot into fastboot mode? I can get to the ko'd android and select options and get into twrp, it says download mode disabled and connect usb data cable, which doesn't change when I plug it in but I see my serial under fastboot in the skipsoft tool kit. I mainly get that error message when using that tool kit too

If you're running XP your pretty seriously out of date.
All of them say download mode disabled when you are in your bootloader. If you see the little droid on his back and the ascii device status in the bottom left corner of your screen you are in bootloader (which is fastboot 'mode' as you put it). Since it is returning your serial number it sounds like you're good.
I expect you may want to simply reflash the stock OS from your Skipsoft kit. Get it booted stock first, then install a custom ROM.
Ok thanks, got my bro here with his win 7 laptop, gonna try and see about pushing the correct gapps to the phone first, if I can't get adb to work when booted into twrp I guess I'll try the fastboot method to stock.
Is it safe to use the Skipsoft toolkit to flash stock Rom while I have twrp installed? And unlocked bootloader?

If your device is currently borked, just start from scratch. If you flash the factory image partitions properly as per Heisenberg's guide then recovery is overwritten anyway. And, you can't flash anything unless your bootloader is unlocked. You would need to reflash TWRP and SuperSU after it first boots.

I would suggest booting it up stock and letting it set up before flashing TWRP and then rooting. And if you do, when you flash TWRP via fastboot, boot right to recovery and flash SuperSU, otherwise TWRP will get overwritten by stock recovery. Rooting stops that.

I followed Heisenberg's guide with no problems the first time, it was all good before I was stupid and flashed a Rom with wrong gapps and tried to restore a backup, thanks tho, I really appreciate the help!

So you went through that and flashed the wrong Gapps pkg again? I may regret asking but what custom ROM are you flashing? There are really only debloated stock variants right now.

Not again, only flashed wrong gapps once, was trying to flash cm13 and got the gapps from opengapps.org. It's ask good now tho, I'm back to stock thanks to you guys and the skipsoft toolkit! Thanks again!
