Spl engine compatible with LG g2 VZW? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everybody, I have the Spl engine downloaded but wanted to see if it works with the VZW g2 varient.
Has anyone noticed any good differences when using it?
Any other flashable engine better than the Spl engine?

[Q] Install a different Rom variant on my G2

Hi guys ,
could i install a different Stock rom variant on my G2 ? Or i need to flash the Kernel before ? And how to do this ?
Install only Roms made for your varient. Vzn, ATT, Korean etc. There are no custom kernels yet which is why we are using stock variants

My phone shows LG d802 but is ATT

Used flashing to get twrp as a recovery flashed clean Rom xe 1.1. After flashing my phone shows up as LG d802 but i actually have the LG D800 ATT. Does anyone know why.

Because that Rom is using the 802 base. If you flash the at&t mms patch mentioned on the clean rom xe thread, it'll fix the name.
It's just a string in the build prop.

Rogers D803 question

I'm considering getting the G2 from Rogers this weekend. Can I use custom roms for D802 on the Rogers D803 version? I am especially interested in Cyanogen Mod which I have been running on all my Android devices for a while. Thanks.
There are a few for the d803. .....I have also read that you can use any att roms As lling as you remove boot.img....check the dev section. They are either listed as multi carrier roms or say d803 in the description

Thank you. Does the boot.img contain the Kernel? In that case does it mean I would be stuck with whatever the default kernel is shipped wtih the phone?

If you use xposed/G2 xposed, you can fix most problems without flashing. However, if you wish, there are a number of custom roms including CM. Be sure to get the correct model number (vs980) as simon said.
