Hey all,
Earlier today, I wanted to return my G2 to stock so I used the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I followed them to a tee, used the right .KDZ for T-Mobile and the whole process went through fine. However, after it finished it is now stuck in the lockscreen. I can't get past it because two dialogs keep popping up - "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped responding" and "Unfortunately, com.android.phone has stopped". If I try to close them, they immediately pop back up. I can't do anything at all, and I can't even turn off the phone.
Please help!!
Try booting to recovery and performing a factory reset.

I can't turn off the phone, unless there is a way to do it with just the buttons?

Yes, just hold power until the devices shuts off...it eventually will. Then boot into recovery from the off state. Also, if that doesn't work, the kHz might have been a bad download, download it and go back to stock again :good:

My phone keeps rebooting, showing the Vibrant Samsung screen, then doing some CLI stuff with the ! point icon (goes so fast I cant see it), then shows the GalaxyS CyanogenMOD screen, then restarted the process.
I tried removing the batter, no luck, does the same thing.
How can I get out of this loop?
Nevermind. I fixed it.
And how did you fix it? last time it hapenned to me I had to Odin back to stock.......

sorry, should have posted what I did.
I just held the buttons to boot into CWR. I ended up doing a ODIN back to stock.
It's stuck at the LG boot screen forever, and I can't get to TWRP which I have installed. Any tips?

Try to get it into TWRP over and over and wipe data if you do and reboot.
If not, try this as a last resort

What's the method for getting into TWRP at this point? I definitely have it, but what is the procedure to get to it? Thanks!
You're not alone friend.

Just happened to me yesterday, press and the Power and Volume down until the phone resets, holding both until the LG logo pops up. When it pops up immediately release ONLY power then press and hold it again and you should receive a prompt for factory reset. Confirm it then if you had TWRP previously installed you should be able to back to it after resetting. From there you can just push a ROM and/or gapps via ADB like I did yesterday . Feel free to message me if you have any issues, I'm back working fulling functional and would be glad to help you if needed. You can also message me on Hangouts as well @ [email protected] . Best of luck!
I have a Verizon LG G2 I tried to flash my backed up stock recovery with Flashify so I could flash the most recent OTA. After accepting the OTA update my phone restarted, tried to install the update, hung at a black screen but was still turned on. If I power it off and back on it shows the LG logo, some white text, then goes to the same black screen. What appears to be happening is that my backup recovery did not restore properly and it's hanging when it tries to go into recovery. It's almost like my recovery partition is blank.
I've tried to follow the instructions to flash back to stock, but I do not believe I'm actually able to get my phone into download mode. When it is plugged into my windows 7 computer with the LG drivers installed it shows up in device manager as QHSUSB_BULK.
Is there any way for me to push a stock recovery, or even a custom recovery to my phone so I can somehow salvage it, or am I permanently bricked?

I'm still trying to find a solution I will post here if i have any luck. I've dug through a lot of forum posts and I think what makes us unique is the fact that we have a corrupt or blank recovery partition.

Ive looked through a lot too. and its crazy how that would happen i made sure it was rebooting correctly before i took the ota and then when i did the ota bam! only screens i can get to come up are the hardware key control mode and the factory hard reset which both go to white screens after I do them both. every one else probably has not taken the ota.

One difference in what mine is doing and what your phone is doing. I go to a solid black screen not a white screen. It's very hard to tell my phone is even turned on. I'm having to look if the back-light to verify if it's on or not. I can hold my power button for 10 seconds through one LG logo cycle and then it turns off.

I hope someone helps us out. I really cant afford a new one because the warranty is void. I was going back to stock because of all of the little bugs that need to be ironed out in roms. cause kit kat is around the corner hopefully and my problem virtually is the same i might have had my brightness on auto or something prior to that.

After following the instructions on the above link i was able to get fastboot status on my phone. It did not fully restore my phone however. I was able to flash twrp via fastboot. I was then able to boot into twrp and run the command at this link via twrp terminal http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
Thanks to everyone for all your help.

Ignore all the message, unplug you phone get ready to type the command, plug it in and immediately press enter to run the command. it took some trial and error, and i had to use this other post to help me out. I actually got fastboot working first, then used this post to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 to get download mode working, and to flash twrp recovery. After that i used this post to run the command line from with twrp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 . I didn't have to flash the factory tot to my phone, but i have that option now because download mode is working. This process will work, there is hope for you getting your phone back. I'm fully recovered. I decided 12B is not worth it in the mean time, but if you want 12B you need to flash the factory tot and then upgrade. There is a way to root 12B, but as of this time you are unable to get Custom Recovery on it.
Saturday evening I got a notification saying 5.0 lollipop was available for my s5 so I eagerly downloaded the update. During the update my phone froze and crashed (had this happen twice earlier in the day) and it rebooted to the update screen. Once the update finished installing the phone rebooted like normal and sat at the verizon screen for about 2 minutes before crashing again. This caused the phone to enter a boot loop that ended up making an open padlock symbol appear on the start screen. After this appeared it took me to a screen that said "System software not authorized by Verizon has been found on your phone". After getting this error I tried using Odin and Kies to reinstall 4.4 on my device. The install was successful but after the phone booted it was freeze and crash again leading to another boot loop and a "recovery booting" message in the top left screen. It now either boots back to the System software screen or loops until it hits the recovery menu. Is there any way to fix this or did Verizon brick my phone?

Still boots with the custom rom padlock and freezes on the verizon screen
Try pulling the battery. I've read where that's helped some people get it to boot.

Ok, so I am safe now. I was able to flash a stock NK2 Kernal.
Pull the battery on the phone. Hold down Vol. Down, Home, and Power and go to download mode. Plug in the phone, and open Odin. Flash the kernal.
Reboot and you should be ok. This just worked for me.

If Kies doesn't work, try Verizon Update Tool. It also has a repair tab and may help you get back to stock.

Instead of flashing only the kernel, flash a stock, unrooted retail version of KK 4.4.4.

This worked for me as well, thanks! For anyone that wants to know, I used "NK2_Stock_Restore.tar.md5" specifically. You can get it from this thread labeled as "NK2 Stock Restore".
Greetings.
A few hours ago I wanted to install a ROM (Don't even remember which rom it was, so that's great) onto my phone.
I do what everyone should do and open up google and search for a tutorial.
Step 1 was something like "The most important thing you need to do is make sure you have a backup in case your phone soft bricks", so of course that I made a backup.
I download twrp manager, give it permissions and go to backup.
I leave the defaults checked thinking that it's probably good as it is and press backup. After a minute or so I notice that it won't boot up.
So I press the power button. It starts, nothing is wrong, after the loading screen however everything stops.
Everything from the UI app to the bluetooth app, to facebook twitter and youtube. Literally, "unfortunately *EVERYTHING* has stopped"
Even holding down the power button and pressing "emergency" mode brings up a message saying "emergencymodesomething has stopped"
I try getting to the boot menu, holding down power, home and volume up, I see the samsung screen and remove my finger from the volume up button, after a few seconds screen goes black, not responding.
From what I've seen in the "everything has stopped" type of power up, connecting it to my phone through USB does not seem to give any results.
Anything I can do that does not include buying a new phone, or anything at all for that matter?
Oh forgot to say it is a samsung galaxy A5, not the one with the fingerprint and whatever but an older version.
Trying to do a factory reset with adb won't work because it says "device unauthorized"
Anyone?
Well thanks for the help everyone... /s
Turns out my phone didn't just boot from recovery, just that the screen was black for some reason.
Followed a video done the exact thing and managed to factory reset it
