Hi everyone , im sorry to tell but from begining i had problems with my s3 , i had a error and the battery was consumed very fast on standby then i rooted , installed other kernels roms etc , for nothing , i had an onscreen time of maximum 2.5 hours with everything shutted down gps sync geo localization setting all ...
Now i had installed original jelly bean flashed with odin and syah kernel the latest version from 1 month ago dont know exactly if something new came up.
My problem is that somehow when the phone was charging i was sending some emails and i felt a burned smell , i checked and the place in wich comes the plug into the phone was like toasted, from then i couldnt charge the phone no more and i cant put back the jelly bean using odin no more ...
The question is how do i put the original rom from tmobile germany back into my phone without odin , just with recovery mod ?
i coulndt find nothing on internet regarding this , just using odin , because when i try to start the phone i just pop the image with syah kernel and the guys from waranty will see this and my phone will be sended back as defect as i send it .
please help

Wondering if someone could help me out here!
Recently I heard that a new update was out for the i9300 in the UK, and so went to check if my update had come along yet. I was surprised to find that my phone was modified, instead of normal. I know of rooting, and I have not done this to my s3. What's more, when I installed Root Checker - it says that my phone is not rooted; so I have no idea what has happened!
Any help would be really greatly appreciated because I know that my phone isn't under warranty while it is like this.
Cheers

Here was same threed like this i think but... if ur device telling u it is modified... it is. It can be done not only by superuser. Somehow u got changed some files that u should not.
If u have flashed custom rom, or rom which looks like custom uploaded by some1, changed and u can even not know this, dont be surprised.
First what imo should be done is restore phone to factory. Wipe data (and for future wipe cache) in cwm recovery. Then check status in OTA. If not help, just flash ur current stoch fw with kernel, modem etc and it should resolve ur problem.
Ps if u will get flash count use triangle away to reset it. U need it to warranty too.
Here's the story:
I got my S4 late last year, and decided to use qbking77's root technique to root my phone. After the 4.3 update, I no longer had root. Also, I had the wifi issue plaguing many S4 users at the moment. So I thought maybe re-rooting would solve my problem, but apparently qbking's method no longer works. So, being a crafty individual, I decided to revert to 4.2.2. I downloaded L720VPUAMF9_L720SPTAMF9_L720VPUAMF9_HOME.tar from samsung-updates and used ODIN to load it. Soon after starting the download, I received a FAIL notification in ODIN and an error in the download screen on my phone as follows:
SW REV CHECK FAIL : FUSED : 4, BINARY : 1
I have tried many versions of ODIN but cannot get the file to load. I really don't want to deal with Sprint over this matter, so any help would be appreciated.
[I am also downloading the 4.3 version from samsung-updates at the moment, but I have to get to bed, so I will try tomorrow.]

you CANNOT got back to MF9 or ANYTHING before MJA.
Grab the MK2 tar (OR MJA) - THERY'RE HERE LOOK.
Flash that in PC Odin and you'll be fine
Spend some time and read and you'll be Okay.

THANK you for reporting back! That is what this community is all about.
Since you have the lates firmware (MJA or MK2) you can now go root, install recovery (via PC Odin or goomanager) and then flash what you wish.
BUT please take some time to read through the developers OPs and followup posts - different ROMs require different recoveries and wipe methods. Recoveries can be switched in recovery too.
Good luck
Hi guys,
I came across this post while searching XDA as I am getting the same error (SW REV CHECK FAIL : FUSED : 4, BINARY : 1) when I try to install "L720VPUAMF9_L720SPTAMF9_L720VPUAMF9_HOME.tar" via various versions of ODIN.
A little background on my phone:
Sprint GS2 L720 that I bought used. The phone gets stuck on the yellow Sprint screen during boot-up. I don't have the whole story but apparently he tried to flash the phone and did so with the incorrect ROM. Rather than try to fix the phone he decided to sell it for cheap so he found a sucker (me) to buy it hoping that I could fix it. I don't have a problem getting the phone into download mode, just can't get the TAR file to install correctly. Since I've never had this phone in working condition I don't know what firmware is on the phone.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb or basic question but I'm completely new at this so any help you can give me in laymen's terms (or links to threads I should read or files I should install) would be greatly appreciated.
LeaderBuilder- You mentioned installing recovery via ODIN? Would you mind elaborating on this. I Googled "Install Recovery with ODIN S4" and came up with videos and links using ClockworkMod and TWRP but I'm not sure if this is what you were referring to. I just hesitant because I don't want to make matters worse or hardbrick my phone.
Anybody willing to respond and help me out- THANKYOU!!!
You install recoveries by using tar files of them

Daniel,
Thanks for your reply. Do you know specifically which recovery TAR file I should install? Also, where can I download them?
Thanks,
Matt

You are trying to install an older version of the stock tar. Once your phone has been upgraded to MJA or newer you cannot install older tar files. You can download the newest stock tar for are phone from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601443
Install using odin 3.07 or newer. Good luck.
Thanks Cruise,
I read through all of the posts on the link that you sent and according to the original poster, flashing that TAR will trip the KNOX which sounds undesirable and potentially dangerous (at least according to the second poster). Is this my best best or only option? Sorry if that's a dumb question but like I said, I'm new to all of this and I really don't want to hard brick my phone. Ideally I'd like to get this to boot properly and bring it back to stock but it sounds like bringing it back to stock might not be an option at this point. Thanks again for your input and the link!

How is it dangerous to trip knox? I personally have it tripped and have really ran into any problems once I rooted. I couldn't install kernels for some reason but I think that was something o was doing wrong .

And it will NOT trigger Knox because it is a stock unmodified tar straight from Samsung/Sprint.

I got news for you, your Knox is already tripped. If the previous owner had already tried to root and install a custom rom that ship has sailed. Installing a stock tar does not trip Knox, installing a custom recovery does.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to follow-up and let you know that your suggestions worked and that I'm now up and running. THANK YOU ALL for your help and suggestions!
So I bricked my Sprint GS4. I don't even want to get into how it happend. I was an being dumb and messing around with my rooted S4. I bricked it a while back but managed to find and install the stock rom and fix it.
I'm having trouble this time around because I wiped all system files. I only get the S4 logo screen when turning it on. I was on 4.2.2 VPUFNAE. I currently downloading the SPH-L720 VPUAMDC stock rom in hopes that I can flash it on my phone with Odin. I guess my question is...will I be able to flash that stock rom back on my phone without having to do anything else?
I know very little bit about this stuff. I research a lot and that's how I know what I currently know. Sorry if I sound ignorant or like a noob. I'm just really desparate to get my phone back. I'm truly greatful for any help I can get!

Hi mate ,
+1 with charris , as long you can get into download mode there is no problem , do the 3 buttons combo ang see if you can , flash stock and back into business , also if you have installed a custom recovery you could flash a custom rom that would solve the problem also
Thanx guys! Much appreciated! I fixed it. Just had to download the correct stock rom. Soo relieved!!

How did you get a custom recovery on your SM-G530P? I have had my phone unrooted for over a year because I eventually gave up on my search for a custom recovery
I really like TWRP and would appreciate any advice on installation for this model

If you ever locate those on your computer please put a link on here or something. Let me know if you need my email because you can't upload here. Likewise If I find anything about Xposed on the model I'll let u know on here.
Anyway, glad to know I'm not the only person on the planet who owns sprint's Grand Prime. Sorry to post about the wrong subject and give you false hope LOL.
