[Q] Syncing with Exchange Calendar - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody else had problems with syncing a Nexus 7 (KitKat) with outlook exchange calendar?
I'm migrating from a Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 5 with Gingerbread and with the setup for a corporate exchange account there was an option to sync the calendar for various previous periods ( 2 weeks to 6 months, including the whole calendar). With KitKat this option is not apparent and syncing appears to only sync up to a month into the past - a backward step compared to Gingerbread. I've managed to add previous events by importing a ics file using Business Calendar Pro. However the syncing stops working having worked for a short while.

[Q] GTab sync with Exchange 2003 cannot sync calendar

Have an issue with my current GTab sync with Exchange 2003
Tried doing this twice already and still no solution yet (i tried searching around but no forums have give me a proper solution as well).
Issue is like this:
1. Setup email, contact and calendar sync with Exchange 2003
2. emails are coming through fine .. no problems here
3. Contacts only 300 ++ contacts came in out of 900++
4. Calendar appointments not synced at all
Anyone encountered this problem?
I just set up my tab from Sprint and it synced fine with my exchange 2003 server.
Maybe reset your device and try again?
Me too. Make sure yiu go into calendar and then tell it how many days you want to sync.

Weird ... Mine just refuse to work... As a workaround ... I'm using touchdown to sync my calendar and contacts....
Very strange...

It's a setting on the Exchange server that's causing it, though I can't recall what it is. Co-worker had the same problem with his Nexus One.
Even though Touchdown costs money, it's a much better solution for Exchange 2003 users IMO.
For me, the ability to have tasks, email and my calendar in one place is worth it. I just moved to the Tab from an iPhone4 and not having to screw with Toodledo sync and a third party task app is a godsend!
The only thing I miss is not having projects, but I'll just use categories for that
Oh, and in case anyone asks, I just used the iPhone as an always connected PDA. I barely used the voice capabilities. That was easy to replace with Skype

I faced the same problem. Calendar doesn't sync with DDJK3 firmware in India.
I flashed XXJM6 Europe firmware from www.samfirmware.com and everything started working fine. Looks like JK series has some issues, JM fixed it looks like
Mail, Calender n contacts all are syncing well.

[Q] CM7 exchange sync issues

Is anyone else having exchange sync issue in CM7? I've tried both stable and the latest nightly. Most specifically its in the calendar. It won't sync all of my appts. I know its not the sever itself as it loads fine on my vibrant running bionix-V 1.3.1.
Any thoughts? I couldn't find any known issues on this.
I'm facing a similar issue as well, e-mail syncs fine but calendar won't.
I've set everything to sync manually, no push and no automatic refresh.
Manual sync of calendar under "Accounts & Sync" doesn't sync calendar entries as well
I found with Exchange sync for Calendar, most, but not all, appointments sync. I found 1 that didn't sync no matter what I did. There may be others, but that was the only one I noticed. However, there seems to be another major timezone/daylight savings time bug where many appointments show up 1 hour before their correct time. For full day appointments, this results in 11pm-11pm 2-day events. It's not the calendar app, as syncing google calendars doesn't seem to have this issue, so it must be a problem with the Exchange sync. I don't use Exchange for email, but contacts seem to sync okay.

Calendar suddenly not syncing from Exchange to HD2

Hi all
My HD2 is running the standard T-Mobile ROM (I know!) and has been working fine using an over the air sync my Exchange server. However, in the last few days both mine and my bosses HD2's have stopped syncing the calendar from Exchange to the HD2. Emails, contacts etc are fine. Appointments added to the phone sync back to Exchange and appear in Outlook, but any appointments added to Outlook do not sync back the other way. I have tried removing the server partnership and adding again, have rebooted the server etc.
Any suggestions would be great!
Tom.

What Calendar that syncs with Outlook?

I have been using Outlook for years, but since I am using multiple devices now (PC, Nexus 7, Nexus 4) it would be nice if they always spoke to one another. Ideally, I would like something where if I add an event to either Outlook or a Calendar on any of the Nexus devices, it would all sync with one another.
Any recommendations on:
1. A Calendar for the Nexus? Stick with Googles Calendar?
2. Some method to auto sync.
Thanks,
Jon
I use Google Calendar Sync. You install it on your PC and it syncs Outlook both ways with Google Calendar.

I agree. Google Calendar Sync is a perfect solution for you. And it is software that is made by Google themselves, so there's no fear if malware.

All synced now thanks. It was surprisingly easy.
Do you think the default Calendar app on the Nexus 7 is the best one?
Be careful with Google calendar Sync.
If you use 2-way synchronization you might suddenly realize that random events disappear from your Outlook calendar. Or maybe you delete an event in Outlook and Google Calendar starts pestering with cancellation notices all meeting attendees (only way to stop it: delete all events in my Google Calendar).
Last but not least, it only syncs events with the message class IPM.Appointment. If you are using tools like WebEx or Live Meeting, these events will not be synchronized.
I used Google Calendar Sync for several months but in the end I had to give up and accept that it does not work as expected (and hoped). By the way, I am talking about the latest version. My experience with this tool is very recent.
I've been syncing Outlook contacts, calendar and e-mail with my Androids for 2 years. First on my Galaxy Captivate, now on my Galaxy SII and Nexus 7. I use the method described here.

I used to use Google Sync... and there are issues with losing some appointment, but once you get used to the system they are easy enough to avoid.
However... I have been using the method mentioned by Miami Sun for the past few months and I think it works better. A bit harder to set up, but once you do it's practically foolproof.
Another option is to buy something like Touchdown, but it's kind of ugly and expensive overkill for many people.
Yeah touchdown is overpriced. The Google cal sync is pretty reliable. Haven't noticed appointments disappearing but sometimes when pushing for events put in galaxy Sii or N7 outlook has to be double punched on getting new messages. "Event error." But pushing a 2nd time right after clears it up.
Mail from yahoo plus and gmail. Everything is really tidy

I am using CompanionLink.
You can Wipe all contacts on your Nexus, you can sync one way ( Outlook to Android or Android to Outlook ) or both ways,
You can also sync via their Cloud , etc.
It costs 40$ but it is really worth it.

[Q] 4.4.4 Exchange Calender Sync Issue

Hi guys. My father in law is having issues with syncing his Exchange calender with his Nexus 7. It was working fine before the last OTA, but since updating to 4.4.4 the calender won't sync. He has a Nexus 7 2013 wifi running stock 4.4.4 with a locked bootloader and non-rooted device. He is still getting emails, which seems odd. Both calender and email are set to sync at 15min intervals. He has already tried deleting the account and reinstalling it. This solved the problem briefly, but shortly afterwards the calender sync issue came back.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
