Upgraded to a new phone last week. Since then it's just been sitting around in my backpack on WiFi getting emails and stuff. I'll probably still use it every once in awhile with the Game Gripper for portable gaming. And it'll be a solid backup up phone. But this is what I miss most...

I just got an Samsung S3. And my constant thought is, "Man this is a big phone" and "I miss my keyboard". Oh well, I'll have to wait for them to make a sensible sized phone again.
I still have to two of em, so I think they may be turned into home automation controllers.
Now, I am using different smartphone and definitely I miss hw kb the most.

got an iphone 5 and a one S on my drawer, those are my backup phone.
I also have an S3, but with a broken screen, don't know if I will repair it soon.
Still use the DZ as business phone. Open lot of dwg and pdf drawing on it. music. watching olympic games, and of curse lot of calls.
Thanks to the battery door, since its my buisness phone = 2 batteries a day.
i refuse to move away from the G2/DZ just because I love/need/want the physical keyboard.
coming from Blackberries and the G1... a physical keyboard is just impossible to do without, for me, because most of the time, I have to type up emails on my phone and having the ability to feel the key press and buttons allows me to type faster and sometimes without looking down on the phone.
Definitely the hardware keyboard and the battery time. I didn't get 8 days on it (duuude), but I got 4.
I just moved on to a SGS2 and I refuse to get rid of my DZ.
Keyboard
The keyboard is surely what I miss the most.
Those bluttooth keyboard just can't give me the same feeling as my Desire Z(G2):crying:

It is the memory requirements for this application that has forced the company to discontinue any new versions/updates and provide the last one for free without any support.
They stated "at this point in time WM devices can't handle the next level we want to take our software. So instead of producing an application that does not meet our standards we have decided to pull it from the market"
Perhaps more of an excuse for the software developers not being able to work within the constraints of current PDA limits- who knows.
Right you are... eats up about 6mb of memory. But still I enjoy showing it off to my buddies. I'm not sure if this can be installed and run from a storage card. Will do tomorrow.
Hey, if you want your PDA to look like Windows, use Windows

Have you tried to create a webpage from the screen of the PDA??
I would actually make use of your TSC program had I a suitable device- unfortunately still stuck with JAM- no point of term. services via bluetooth!
Wouldn't mind having one of those up and coming mini-tablet style devices that are due to run the full blown version of XP though.
I'd like to have an OQO or something Unfortunately even the Universal's screen becomes too much work on the eyes after a while. Such a dilema: want a big (VGA) screen, want a small phone. Not gonna happen.
I don't think I'd like an OQO day to day, but nice in bed. But yes, VJFullscreenTSC could be used to write webpages from the Uni.
As I understand it, Experience is a flash app isn't it?

few days ago, i had a chance to play around with the vodafone blackberry 9500 also known as 9530 from US verizon. i was very impressed with the blackberry UI and its OS too comparing with buggy WM6.1 on the HD i have.
After testing the blackberry, I almost traded in my HD for the blackberry; yet, I still wanted some feedbacks here if the current problems can be solved.
two things impressed me the most from blackberry
1. the feedback mechanism on the blackberry 9500, it makes you feel like you are actually pressing on a keyboard
2. the landscape mode is much responsive and precise comparing with either too laggy or sensitive on the HD..
my question is:
has anyone ever thought about installilng blackberry OS on the HD? the other is, is there a possibility to change the feedback mechanism when press on HD just the same feeling as on the blackberry?
any feedback is appreciated
As for the feedback on the Blackberry Storm (9500), that is achieved by the display unit actually floating on a button at the middle.
This image will clarify...

Thus, it is impossible to create that type of feedback on any device without the same design.
In other news, I've tried that device myself and it didn't do much for me at all... Pushing in on the screen itself was just...weird and unnatural.
And if buggy is what you're looking for, try out the Blackberry OS 4.7 that is currently on the Storm. I have to admit that winmo can be...iffy at times, but at least the issues can be resolved by either using other software or actually making changes to the OS. Blackberry OS 4.7 has be a nightmare and users can do nothing but wait for RIM to put out an update to fix the problems.
1. install touch response and the phone can vibrate every time you press the screen making it feel like your hitting a something.
2. the storm has had terrible reviews with buggy software. altho yes will agree with the bold is probably faster than the HD, but you can't put your onw rom on the bold.
storm has no wi fi ^^ that's enough for me to prefer the HD
Are there any sms-pop ups like this one for wm?:

Would be great to have a good looking sms pop-up app that shows photo of the sender like this one, seems there are several available for Android but all the ones I've found for wm looks like ****
Try SMS-Chat by Vito Tech, it has a pop-up that is pretty similar to that.
I know but I don't think it shows an image of the sender...
S2U2 does this, but it will only show if the lock screen is on.
And the picture wont be that big.
Just use XDAndroid, or get an Android phone haha.
Edit: Wait nevermind, I see use already use it, haha. Good choice.
Yes it's very nice, the problem is I can't use it at daytime or at work due to the battery drain, so I only use XDANDROID at home at the moment. But it was XDANDROD with handcent sms that first made made me go wow! and wondered why we don't have anything like it in wm...
You've probably already seen it but it takes it even one step further and allows you to fast reply in the pop-up:
Oh, really? With the latest builds I have been getting fairly decent battery life as long as I'm not constantly using data connection. So I have been using XDAndroid pretty much as my main OS throughout the whole day. But I also have an extra battery just in case.
I do really like the SMS popup with Handcent. The quick reply is really what sells it for me. Very useful.
Well I have constant data connection with push mail and stuff running so it really makes some difference I've noticed but yes the battery life has improved a lot in new releases and isn't way behind wm now except for when using wifi that is!!!
I'm searching something like this too?
+1
Im looking this!!!!
Cheers!
Seen loads, tried loads but this is what I really want..

This is on the opening screen of my HD2 when it's been locked. The keyboard is so easy to use and is very native of a conventional phone keypad. It makes for easy use and the screen is still free to both read and write your text.
trust me, im searching something like this since 2 years T.T am i too stupid or is there really nothing like that?
when im walking around with my phone.. i cant type in qwerty mode :/ when i switch to "phonepad" it suxx cause the buttons are again too small when im walking
on the pin input screen there are even two unused buttons, wich we could use as smileys or other things...
As this screen is already in my phone, I would have thought that it was possible to mix into a cab for keyboard use. I am not a programmer otherwise I would try..
What's wrong with the regular Phone Keypad that comes pre-installed?

What I would like is the keypad as in the first image for my texting and messaging... not just for dialling numbers..
When I am texting, I do not need all of the other clutter that robs my screen of space so larger keypads would be nice.. I currently use this -
But I need to turn it on its side to text and I only get one line of screen to read what I am writing.. but like I said, the keypad in the opening screen would be just right for me..
If you download the hero IME keyboard, which you can find by using the search function on mobilerumor.blogspot.com, it has a phone keypad feature.

OK so biking to work today noticed a few different bugs I had not noticed so far, coming from iPhone I had never experienced these problems with Apple.
My bluetooth simply will not auto connect to my garmin 510, I have to go into both devices and "forget" paired devices and reconnect a fresh, every time I turn either device off/on.
Headphones crackling at high volume (which isn't really that high to be fair) can't be the headphones as there very high spec. Atomic Floyd HiDefDrum
Just tried to compose an email (original email client) and as I write the email the cursor moves by itself back into the middle of the line im writing making it impossible to write a full line??? WTF?
TBF, at the beginning of this note I seem to compare to Apple, but thinking about it these are basics that should work on any device, I have been perfectly happy with the S4 up until now.... But the 3 jobs I wanted it to do properly today, it's failed at....... miserably!!
OK, So I've managed to write my email. Had to switch to original samsung keyboard (from swiftkey)
Can anybody replicate this error using original email app/swiftkey

I think I've read one or two complaints about the cursor issue. You can just install another keyboard from the Play Store. Thats the joy of android..
About the crackling, there's a whole thread on that topic. It seems that the S4, majorly the qualcomm LTE version I think, has crackling issues when you use headphones with a resistance lower than 14-16 ohms, so you're out of luck as of now until that issue is sorted by Samsung. You can find more info here, just search for it next time:

Is very comfortable, you can carry in a pocket. When you see bugs just spray all over it with this magnificent product.
(But remember, this is not for internal use)
