Hey Guys I need some SERIOUS help here please.
My mothers G2 is rooted, with cwm installed. This morning, it started booting only into CWM recovery. She says she did not know of any update that she could have taken, but all the phone will do is boot into recovery. I have no roms on the phone or anything, so I can't flash anything. I also do not have TWRP installed, so I cant run terminal commands.
I found the option of sideloading TWRP, however adb does not recognize the device at all. The phone will not boot into download mode, or bootloader. ONLY Recovery.
I've seen people with the same issue, but they are able to get adb to recognize their phone, I can not.
I have all of my drivers installed.
Can someone PLEASE give me some direction. My mom is not a fan of phone stuff and this is terrible.

Hi out there,
i was on Cm10.1 and did update to TWRP 2.6, I made a full wipe incl internel storage cause i wanted to clean install a new rom.
while wiping, my device reboots an stuck on the start screen on twrp and reboot again--Bootloop all the time
im not able to shut it off (how?)
i can get in bootloder but adb do not recognize. i cant do anything in bootloader cause there stand: Downloading do not turn off target. Wether it is pluged in or not.
In bootloop adb recognizes device but i can not give any comands.
what can i do??
i can not reflash stock cause i can not use adb.
What options do i have?

i fixed it myself
flashed via fastboot new recovery an it works
than push new rom via adb and install

I wasn't able to use the last command

I thought it didn't work , i also updated the my phone software.
When my phone restarted it went to cwm and now its stuck there.
Now when I try to boot I can either get in CWM or some Korean Recovery Menu with three option (i tried all nothing happend) or just stuck in boot loop!
I can't get in download mode by pressing vol up and plugging usb cable (tried all possible methods)
I will be glad if someone can help me out.

That's an unexpected situation to say the least.
So in short: installation of recovery worked, but you lost access to your ROM.
Correct?
Now, if you had a flashable ROM on your sd card you would be sorted, no?
I would say, get any compatible ROM, put them on a micro sd card and plug them into your phone. Flash through cwm...
Am I misunderstanding?
Otherwise there is always the fully back to stock option:

I was able to fix my phone using this thread. I was able to get in recovery but not in download mode. After executing these commands I flashed stock firmware through LG flashing tools.

I have the same issue. Nothing mentioned in other threads is useful just because I CAN'T ENTER DOWNLOAD MODE. Totally stuck Help! Devs! Anyone!
Try installing some custom rom from recovery...after installing custom rom you can enter into download mode and do whatever u want...return to stock using kdz files or anything else..

So here is what happened. I had the Maluidus ROM installed and wanted to try the KK zip that cloudyfa made. I flashed it, and it went well. However when I booted I could only get to the verizon screen. I can boot my phone but into PHILZ recovery I can not access download mode. When I try to use adb to sideload a rom I type adb devices, and my device is not listed. The drivers are installed as I used IO root to to root it. Anything I can do in recovery to add a zip to the internal sd card? any help?
****Edit**** When in recovery the device is not recognized and the drivers can not be installed.

a few days ago my friend brought me a phone for me to flash a custom rom onto it. I can't REGRET anything more then accepting this phone.
I rooted the phone on stock android 4.4.4 with Kingroot and after that, **** went down real bad.
I realised I couldn't acces recovery NOR download modus anymore, i try'd to boot into download/recovery with the hardware button way, but I also try'd to boot with adb reboot download / recovery
neither of those options worked, the phone either normally booted up or it kept trying to reboot with a black screen.
after I rooted it the boot image u get like " Samsung XXX "" were also gone.
after ALOT of searching and stuff and attempting things ive found a really old thread that stated to use fastboot reboot bootloader. I were really amazed that that worked but instead of booting up to the regular download modus it booted into fastboot, I read somewhere someone had the similair issue like me and they told him his boot img were corrupted. so ive headed to sammobile and downloaded the stock firmware for the device, I extracted the packages since I couldn't use odin because I am/was not able to acces download modus, while in fastboot i flashed the single boot.img with the command "Fastboot flash boot boot.img" it succeeded but after it succeeded I tried to boot it up but it fails booting to OS,recovery and download. it keeps attemping to reboot, I am CLUELESS at this point. I am able to try some things when I can enter that fastboot mode I had before but I can't acces the phone with ADB since it just keeps rebooting and stays inresponsible
I am planning to buy a USB JIGG, i use to have one but I can't find it anywhere.
any idea's/information would be soo helpful..

Hi There, I just came across your thread, because I'm in the same position you are, fortunately though, I've managed to root this phone without any problems, however it seem though that there is no custom ROM available for this device, at least nothing past KK, and that one I found didn't seem so stable, I tried to flash it and came back with an error!! So my friend won't be able to bring his phone out of the Dark Ages!! at least it's Rooted! and now he may be able to use some apps that do require root, It's the best I can do at this point. so I made a really bad dumb mistake, I flashed over a perfectly good twrp to try a cwm recovery out, and I did so after installing a linage rom not even sure one exactly but I remember reading something about "insecure adb" or something?..anyway, all was ok until the needless recovery flash, reboot after yielded no o/s and worse no recovery partition at all, it just boots straight back to trying to boot recovery, followed by the endless bootloop, I can boot download manually, but now my pc will not recognize the phone at all no matter what I do nothing changes just not recognized. my adb setup was working great I flashed the broken recovery with adb so can someone please offer me a clue as to where to go now cause I'm out of ideas. MANY THANKS for any and all help in advance.
