well,
I have a LG G2 d805/802 with TWRP recovery. I just wipe all data, internal storage, EVERYTHING...
I read a lot about ADB sideload, but it just don't start on phone (starting adb sideload feature...), but windows can recognize my device normally.
When I sideload the ROM.zip nothing happens. I think I have to make the feature starts.
Other way is to try flash from OTG, but my TWRP 2.6.3.2 just don't recognized my otg-memory.
Any ideias for what I supposed to do?
note: I think my device is not rooted.
1. If you device is not rooted, how could you get custom recovery on your device?
2. I don't think "sideload" is an universal adb command, meaning it supported on some devices and some others don't.
3. If "sideload" doesn't work in your case, why not just push the .zip file over and flash it using custom recovery?

I gave sideload a good effort last week for a couple hours on Verizon G2 VS980 after doing the same thing you did. Eventually, I gave up and just did an adb push command to copy the file to my phone and then installed it using twrp as votinh suggests.
SOLVED
I realized the phone will never actually start the adb sideload feature. so, when i put the "abd sideload file.zip" command i just wait. it take a few minutes to start the process.
Deleted everything but TWRP in my G2. ADB Sideload doesn't start, it gets stuck in "starting ADB sideload feature..." any ideas what to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I had this problem and had to do a factory wipe to get ADB sideload to work so I could push a rom to TWRP
I never had anything but problems using TWRP on this device, I have no problems with CMR
Look through this thread;

Thanks

Thank you I ended up flashing stock, will definitely review this if I get stuck with sideload again!
Not much i can say to this, beside its that when i need to use ADB Sideload on TWRP as the USB Mount feature doesnt work anymore on newer phones, so i need to transfer a ROM to my phone, but cant as ADB Sideload on TWRP just says: Starting ADB Sideload feature...
That keeps on forever, how can i fix that? Thanks in advance.
My phone is without an OS hence sideloading. ADB set up fine. Device is recognised in ADB until I sideload. Then I get error device not found when installing. I'm using the latest SDK and have tried downloading the latest LG driver but I get an error in spanish (Ithink). Am downloading driver from here http://androidxda.com/download-lg-usb-drivers
Anyone help please?
PS - I am not sure if USB debugging was enabled before the brick...
So I've moved on from that. Manually installed the android composite drivers and all ok. But NOW I have a new error which I get regardless of the Rom. "error executing updater binary in zip '/sideload/package.zip"
Looks a more advanced error to me...
Is there any serious guru that can help me as I am now stuck. Tried Android ADB interface as driver and also latest LG as driver. I get to about 65% of install then "error updating binary....". It has to be a driver issue right???
why don't you
"adb push filename.zip /sdcard/filename.zip"
instead of sideload ?

Thanks for responding. It's internal memory so can only sideload anyway right? How would I 'push' and what mode would TWRP need to be in?

Ok worked this out. Have not put TWRP in to sideload mode and have entered the text in CMD. The cursor just flashes and has done for about 5 minutes now...But at least it doesnt say error
So it's pushed the rom to the SD card and I still get the error updating binary when I try to install. Tried 3 different roms and all get this error. Think there's nothing left to try.
There is. What twrp are you on? And what ROM are you trying to install?

Hi - I actually (naughtily) opened another thread on this as the problem is not with sideloading anymore. I cannot install anything (recovery, any rom) either by sideload or push. It's like TWRP is corrupt. I'm on 2.8.6.1. Installed simple tool v3.2 as well and I cannot overwrite TWRP as I get the fail again.
Extract the recovery.omg, push it to internal. Then use dd command to flash it manually

How do you get rid of twrp and install CWM instead?
I think my TWRP is corrupted too, bootlooping for 3 days now
I am following this guide here to root oneplus 6t (european variant), 9.0.5 Android:
https://www.xda-developers.com/onepl...otloader-root/
bootloader is unlocked and I can see there is a positive connection between phone and PC by checking the output on adb devices and fastboot devices. both work as intended.
the problem is that when I try to adb sideload, it says that I need version 1.0.32. so this means I cannot flash the custom recovery.
any tips? been looking online for quite some time now and cannot figure out what to do anymore. where can I find this 1.0.32 adb version?
I am a long time user on nexus 5 and just bought this phone, want to root it aswell. (note: this does not mean I have high level of knowledge on these types of hacks, just wanted to have this clear.)
Are you trying to boot or to flash the recovery from adb ? If you're trying to install the recovery from adb it wont work, on a/b devices the recovery is part of the boot image wich needs to be patched, boot twrp.img and then get the bluespark twrp zip and flash it.

I can start the twrp, the problem is when I go into adb sideload and try to flash it. on pc is says "error" and on the phone it says I need to get adb 1.0.32. I am trying to flash that bluespark recovery with no luck.

You need to flash the zip from within the recovery that you booted using adb, not sideload it.
I already tried that, copied the files to the phone but when I try to access them through the bootable trwp, I cannot access them.

wrong twrp used. you correct twrp and it will work. like this twrp https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...covery-theme-blacked-twrp-acuicultor-t3847752 or https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=27466#downloads the choice is yours alone to make.
you are asking for help with 6t in the 6 form. whats wrong with this? you should be at this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3861482
