Flashing back to stock will fix those issues.

Flashing "stock" europe open D802 does not repair that, still baseband unknown, now I'm downloading and try to flashing my real stock rom, via LG Mobile Support Tool.
If that not help, I don't have more ideas...

unfortunately, after restore real stock firmware, baseband is still unknown.
Please, help me repair my phone. I can't unlock developer options, when i tap on firmware version, my phone is freeze and restart.
Now I root G2, and flash TWRP, but flash new modem, nothing change.

I think at this point you either need to restore a efs backup (if you have one). Or use LG's pc software and try an 'emergency' repair/recovery. But for that you'll need to at least know your IME number. As the software asks for it.
No ROM's contain efs data. As it's unique to each phone.

Yeah i think nomad is right, you somehow have completely lost your EFS partition...i had the sam isuue as you and flashing to stock fixed it, but i probably still had my EFS. Did you make a back up of the stock rom at any point? Because if you restore back to that it should restore the EFS and fix your problems.

Unfortunately normal backups don't backup the efs partition(s). So they would have had to have done a specific backup just for that using a 3rd party backup script in recovery.
But using the lg software and knowing your imei you might be able to recover it. Well recover is the wrong term. What the LG software will do. Is recreate that partition using your imei.

Had the same issue with the same Rom. I tried a bunch of things for a few days but couldn't find a way to fix mine. I got a replacement.
I did this with my new G2 and only flashing Roms for my phone now.

I flashed back to stock but think I was still rooted. I talked to a few long term T-Mobile customers and they said it doesn't matter. I just took it into the store and played dumb. hehe

Strange case of unknown baseband and IMEI

Hi everybody, i've got a strange problem on my n4. i was on cyanogenmod, then i decided to try the purity rom, so i flashed it and when the boot completed (very long boot time) there was no signal and the IMEI code and the baseband number were "unknown". the strange part is that with the stock rom and with the cyanogen 10.2 the phone works fine, but the problem was there with every other rom i tried. imho it's very strange.
i searched on google and on xda and i've found some threads with a few fixes. i tried them all but with no luck.
the problem it's not huge, i'll only use the cm from now on but, however, it bothers me.
thank you for reading.
Manually flash a baseband to it.
upgrade your recovery. old versions did not handle selinux properly. your radio didn't get touched. just a permissions issue
When on a rom that shows baseband and imei, try backing up efs info using a terminal emulator and then restoring on any rom that loses that info. It is probably a good idea to have a backup of this anyways, since you are facing this issue. If you lose this info for good, you will never get it back and your phone will never connect to cellular phone service again, just data.

Process System crashs and bootloop

Hi,
I've a big problem with my note 3 (SM-9005).
Root and under Foxhound Diamonds ROM 1.2
All worked perfectly during one month and I don't do any modifcation last month.
Just i flashed Faux's recovery 2 days ago.
After that, Note3 works perfectly. But I had needed to do a reboot. But after reboot I had many problems. PIN code was not query after reboot, I have no signal and after several seconds it's show me "system process doesn't respond" wait or close?. Then the phone reboot and reboot until I removed the battery.
I tried to reflash the rom but I had still the same problem. I also tried to reflash a Samsung firmware with ODIN. Flash was OK, but problem is still there. No signal, and reboot after system process crash...
Any idea? My Knox counter is at 0x1...
Sorry for my poor English.

Thank you for your answer. But Root was done Two month ago by myself. So...
And I had flashed a stock Rom with ODIN. But when we flash a stock ROM with ODIN, we lost the root. Why I Still had the same problems after flashing a stock rom?

Because you corrupted your EFS partition flashing either a kernel that didn't like the phone or a ROM that had issues, (Samsung Note 3 is prone to EFS issues currently). And it needed rebuilt. Re-Flashing stock in most cases won't rebuild it but sometimes it does, then you have you use this to fix. No need to go back to stock or wipe or anything, just flash it and voila! fixed

Ok, I've not my note 3 with me. I tried to return it to after-sales services. But Samsung said that I had flashed the device and that warranty is broken...
I'm waiting the estimate but I think it will be too expensive. I want try to repair it by myself but they have not brought back the phone yet.
But the last solution :

needs to have a custom recovery. But it seems to me that after i had flashed the stock firmware, I didn't have the custom recovery but only the stock... How I can flash the file? Is it possible with the stock recovery?
Grab TWRP or CWM recoveries and ODIN, boot the phone into download mode - when it is off. Load up one of your custom recoveries in to PDA - hit start and let it install. Once it's done your phone will still bootloop, so take the battery out. Put back in - hold volume up, power button and home button - it'll boot into recovery, then just flash your efs fix zip via the install button

Great! I'll try as soon as they brought me back the phone.
I didn't knew how to flash custom recovery with ODIN.

Samsung refuse my device. Warranty is broken because I flashed it. They saw Knox's counter of course...
They asked 250€ ~ 340$ to repair it. I refused I prefer to try your solution and i'm waiting. The phone will be back in average the 15th january.

Some news!
I just recover my phone!
I have immediately flashed the recovery, and flash the file you got me. And.... it's running!!!!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
I'm so happy!!! What a shame for Samsung! They said in the estimate 340$ to repair it with a change of motherboard while just a little flash was enough.

[Q] [Soft Brick] VS980. No baseband version or imei.

Hello. I've been personally been coding Android and making recoveries as a hobby. However I quite never seen anything like this. My LG G2 VS980 has no baseband version or imei, in addition, there is no audio output. Not trough speakers or headsets however haven't tried Bluetooth nor using my Chromecast. There is another thread out there about the AT&T varient of the G2 with the same issue however there is no solution except restoring from a backup. My backups where lost when cwm factory reset my phone and I used adb sideload to get back onto CM. Does anyone have a backup of their ROM on the VS980? Hopefully I could restore from that backup and save my G2
Thanks

[Q] Cant get Vanir 4.4.2 working S7710 xcover2

When i flashed VanirAOSP 4.4.2 on my xcover 2 everything else worked like it should but sim card stuff.
I lost imei and baseband was unknown.
Cant make a phone call or anything else related to sim card but got those back when restored old backup of stock rom.
I did just like instructions said but everytime when i flash vanir i lose those.
Tried efs backup and restore but it didnt help.
If someone knows what im talking about and knows how to fix this skomer would be more than grateful (dead) :fingers-crossed:
Same problem here. Flashing stock rom will fix that.
Are you using the correct version of CWM that the developers suggested on their thread? It's most likely that or you have a mismatched baseband. You should be able to use Odin to install the latest one for your region to bring back your service. This is why it's often suggested to back up your EFS before installing custom rom. Seems to happen a more on Samsung devices with non TouchWiz based roms. Luckily, this seems like an easy fix, but there's a chance of losing your EFS partition with stuff like this, and that's a whole new world of trouble.

I got the same problem except I flashed the cm10.1/10.2/11.0... lost sim, IMEI, baseband (I´m a noob btw).
Went back to stock (rooted with cwm), works fine though. But sure as hell would like to cm 11.0 to run with a working phone,
it was really smoothe...

its nice to know that im not the only noob in here, keeping fingers crossed and dreaming about the day when we get our skomers working perfectly.
I'm stricken as well. I tried both Vanir and CM and had no signal on either of them.
I'm using CWM 6.0.4.6, wiped all filesystems I dared (/system, /data, all the caches I found). I haven't flashed modem fw though (how, is there any link for firmware?).
After the flash, I can see IMEI in phone information, but I don't have any mobile signal. Flashing back to stock firmware resolves the signal issue (well, last time I just used CWM's backup functionality and it worked like a charm).
same here
has anybody a solution for it? my imei is empty after flashing something. i tried to backup my efs partition but dont know if its right. Just create a tar file of my efs partition.
Hello there.
It's the same for me. Every time, I install vanir, my device looses it's IMEI. I install it with the modified CWM by the Dev without any errors. Everything seems to be OK except the IMEI. If I go back to XXAND2 by Backup, everything is OK again. I also tried an efs backup, but in vanir I have problems to get it back, "error, empty archive" it says. I'm really confused about that.

Got my phone back from repair couple days ago and its brand new xcover2 but still the same when flashing =( ... i tried efs backup and restore but said it cant be found or something like that. And im 100% sure i had the backup on my sd and its still there but it is what it is. Im going to wait for someone smarter than me to figure it out and keep the stock**** for now.
Holy cow! I did it.
I got everything working exept baseband it says now xxxx but that doesnt bother me cause i can now make phone calls and messages.
Dont know about how right my method was but it worked, i copied efs folder and modemfs folder from stock rom to my ext sdcard and flashed vanir then with root browser i deleted everything from those folders and replaced with copies i made... sounds weird but im happy :good:
Hm, seems to be a solution. This is my biggest problem, too. What about updating Vanir to a newer built, when you have vanir already installed? Have you tried it too? Do you have to copy the efs again?

Yes i did update it and there was no need to copy/paste again. But im confused about baseband : XXXX, could that do harm later on?
Its good to keep the copies on extsd cause if messups happen u dont have to fight with them backup things which didnt work for me.
Sounds simple. I'll try it next time. But do I have to clean the Dalvik cache too before installing vanir or should I just do the wipe?

[SOLVED] Help - Baseband unknown and Imei null

Hi,
I have done a lot of research and tried several methods, but got nowhere yet and I was hoping someone could probably help me restoring my phone back to normal.
I was trying to install a different baseband version on my international N9005 (Android 4.4.2) with ODIN and it all went fine (a process that I have done a good number of times already). However, when I restarted the phone, I got into a boot loop and after wiping cache and dalvik I got the phone to start. The problem is that the phone is now showing baseband unknown and IMEI null, which somehow also causes problems on the whole system, the phone goes a lot slower, the camera does not work, the clock app either, etc.
Just so you have the right information, I live in the UK and I originally had modem version XXUENB1, after which I have tried several others such as XXUENC2, XXUENF2, DXNE3 and ZHNE6, being the latter the last I had after trying to install version XXUENE3, which is the one that left my phone out cold.
I do my backups using Philz recovery, and I have a few EFS backups using it, which I have tried to restore with no luck. The EFS backups have 4 files ('efs.ext4.tar'; 'efs.ext4.tar.a'; 'nandroid.md5'; and 'recovery.log'). Also, I have another EFS backup that I did which is one file only, 'efs_20140531_122400.img'.
I have also tried restoring old full system backups and a brand new firmware via ODIN but I got the same result (I haven't yet tried a full restore with separate CSC, PHONE, PDA, Modem and PIT files as I am waiting for the files to download). Again, I have tried installing different baseband versions with ODIN which I know that worked in the past, but no changes.
I do not know what else to try. Anybody has any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
