I'm using an LG G2, D801 Tmobile variant, and I've tried AOKP, OmniRom, Gummy, Paranoid Android, VanirAOSP, Hellfire, Carbon and even Cyanogen. Jellybean and KitKat based, they all have this touch screen issue with certain apps. I've used Robert Broglia's .emu emulators, Dead Space, 10000000, Retroarch, and a bunch of other apps, and they don't respond to the touch screen. Like the touch input just turns off while the screen stays on. the only way out of some of these apps is either backing out using the back button or hitting home. I keep coming back to Buckeye's rom or a stock based rom and those don't have this issue. I want to use AOSP roms, especially because KitKat is really nice, but a lot of these apps not working makes me come back to stock. If anyone knows about this issue or a fix for it, please let me know.

I have tried several rom/kernel combinations on two Nexus 7's and noticed that while doing normal internet surfing or using basic applications that the screen will black out for second then come back on and resume where it was. I noticed some posts on this in the android development sections, yet no one seems to have a fix. Is this a software thing or a hardware thing?
I noticed this when I installed CM10 based PA, so I guess it's a ROM issue.
Its the surfaceflinger issue. They did something recently to it and im guessing dont realize its a bug.. but let me link you the fix it will work on any ROM.
surfaceflinger-fix.zip Flash in recovery and enjoy.
Hi all,
First off, just want to put out there that I'm not exactly a techie so I'm not too fluent with this stuff (but just smart enough to root and flash, haha).
Anyway, I've flashed Cyanogenmod, SlimBean, BeanStalk, ParanoidAndroid, and LiquidSmooth (currently) but for each, I have been experiencing problems. Three problems, to be exact:
1. My vibration is MUCH lower than it was on TouchWiz, and I've seen my friend's S3, where his vibration is strong. Yes, I have tried increasing the vibration in each of these ROMs (past the 'recommended 75%')
2. Brightness sliders and laggy and slow to respond. I can't seem to drag the slider easily; it always lags and takes time to move where I want it to.
3. LTE does not work. I've tried turning the LTE switch on, but I never get it, or I just simply cannot connect to any band. The highest I've gotten is HSPA+ and I used to get LTE on TouchWiz...
Any help?
So you're having the same 3 problems on all the aosp roms you've tried? Have you flashed back to stock or used a stock-based rom to see if those problems disappear? What kernel are you using?
At this point I would have started over again (Odin to stock, system wipe, etc).
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem?
Basically, I was having wifi issues connecting to an enterprise WLAN with PEAP/MSCHAPV2, so I (stupidly) upgraded to the OTA 4.4.2 ROM, which would have been fine if it didn't kill battery life and randomly restart. I wasn't on this version long enough to know if it had the same issue that I will describe below.
So I threw caution and my warranty to the wind and went with the 4.4.4 Pacman ROM, which was great, but whenever I had a phone call, the phone screen freezes and won't wake up to allow me to hang up a call. The same thing would occur if I called someone and had to use their automated system - I'd put the screen on loudspeaker, open up the dialpad, and when I want to hit the numbers - nothing. Locked up. Can't hang up either.
I had the same issue on the 4.4.4 Cyanhacker ROM, so I believe that it is fully related to some sort of incompatibility between KitKat and the i9505, and not the ROMs themselves.
At this point I was successful in switching to the Darthstalker 4.3 ROM, which is running beautifully and I'm really liking it so far. It's also nice having the old phone and contacts apps back, because I really hated the Kitkat one anyway...
Heya,
So i experienced a lot of problems with the stock ROM on my S4 taking up way too much space and being kinda slow and crappy, so after hearing of CM and the speed increases and benefits it can have, i decided i'd give it a go, and for about a year now its been my daily driver.
However it has some issues, which are recently becoming more of a problem to me.
Now the first one might have seemed like a deal breaker to anyone else but honestly i wasnt too frustrated with it.
This issue is that the 3g connection with the device when im out and about straight up doesnt work. It shows red in the pull down menu and just doesnt work.
Next issue is that the camera has been severely downgraded in image quality.
Now recently i've been requiring the phone more than usual when out and about doing my job as tech support.
My issue is that i want these features to work correctly, but i dont want to run the stock ROM, can anyone advise how i can either fix these issue with CM or can you help me choose a different ROM which doesnt have these particular problems?
Run one of the Google Play Edition ROMs. Fewer problems will be had as these ROMs are versions of Android untouched by Samsung except for the inclusion of the libs needed to properly run the phone.
Another alternative is to go back to stock, but with the addition of some time spent in debloating the ROM, and with the addition of a new launcher to replace the stock version.
Excellent, thanks for the advice, i've now installed JFLTE after a bit of research and it's so far a very pleasant experience, ill report back if i have further problems with the mobile data connection but so far it appears to work.
Basically when I enter a game I'm stuck in its menu because my touch won't work.
This happens for games only with larger size, like Max payne, GTA vice city, spider man 2.
Otherwise my phone is perfect and I do not experience these touch issues with smaller sized games like smash it, bomb squad.
I did my research and not able to find a solution.
Please help!
Maybe it's rom related?
I don't think anyone else running CM11 M12 snapshot are facing the same issue
The only way to find out is by flashing another rom. What can you lose? Just backup this one, wipe everything and flash a new one. Install the culprit games and try. If they do work as intended, then your problem is solved.
Yea it works with the stock samsung touchwiz! But the thing is I just wanna know anyone out there are able to run games over 900 mb smoothly in s4-i9505 running CM11
I don't think it's rom related because I don't ever any cm users facing such problems in the latest nightly..... And I've had this problem only from kitkat.
Name any game over a gig it doesn't work. And chain reaction too.
I don't know. Different problems may appear for different users. Some users may be facing problems that others don't have. Like you do.
I don't know what might cause it but it's clearly a rom problem since it works on stock but doesn't in cm11. Or it may also be a kernel problem. Try a different kernel with the cm11 rom you're using
What is the best kernel you would recommend for running CM11?
