I just just updated to TWRP 2.3.2.1 flashed the 4.13 bootloader and flashed scroslers 4.2 rom, while Google Play was restoring my apps the screen started flickering and there was white noise coming out of the speaker and then the screen just went blank. The only way I can get it to power up is to plug in the USB cable, doing this it powers up on its own and boots in to the ROM and then in a minute or less I get a flickering screen and the unit shuts down again. I have tried to get into recovery and it always shuts down before recovery starts. Any ideas?
Edit: Got into recovery did a complete wipe again and reflashed the ROM but the N7 shut down again as soon as TWRP started installing the ROM.
Try the nexus 7 toolkit if you can get your nexus to be on the time you need to flash stock and after that see if it remains on. If not, lock up and get it fixed

My Nexus 7 has been freezing on me lately, so I figured I should back it up. During the backup it froze at 60%. After a reboot I attempted to backup the most important data but titanium backup kept failing. After two failed attempts the tablet powered off by itself. It would not boot past the Google logo. I was able to get to fastboot mode. While in recovery I did a factory reset. After the factory reset the Nexus went in to a boot loop. It displayed the Google logo, then reset. I could still get in to fastboot mode and it froze once more while in fast boot mode. I powered it off and now it does not power up. The battery showed 43% when I was doing the backups, but I thought it might of been wrong so I recharged it for two hours. It still will not boot up. If I have the Nexus plugged in to my computer and turn it on I can hear the sound that a new device is connected but almost immediately the sound for the device being disconnected plays. I figure the flash memory has failed while writing to it during the backup, but the new device sound seems odd. It is under warranty and I will probably have to RMA it. But before I that happens I wanted to check with awesome xda community and see what you think.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any idea what went wrong?
Thank you for reading my post.
Random crash and Boot loop
i have a samsung s5 with lollipop installed.
The phone seems to randomly turn off.
The phone enters a boot loop until i plug the charger in.
It has happened several times, but i don't know how to reproduce the error.
It doesn't seem to be app specific, but it has crashed while using the following apps.
... When using the camera
... When using chrome
... When using VR zeiss
I have tried the following, but none of these have worked for me.
1. Wiped cache partition x??
2. Factory reset x2
3. Safe mode
4. Battery calibration, charged phone to 100% while off
Has anyone had a similar issue and been able to solve it?
Try download the official rom T-mobile and put in your device with odin.
i had the same problem. i flashed official stock firmware for s5 with odin and it fixed my random shut down and battery problems.
Get a new battery you probably got water damage

Hi All,
I am having a similar kind of problem like many others already stated but mine one is a bit unique.
My phone will power on, google logo appears, it starts to boot then nothing happens....it keeps on restarting the sequence but never completes the boot process. I can access fastboot, recovery mode but the phone itself doesn't start.
However if I keep it plugged to my wall charger it completes the boot process and I can access my phone, but if I unplug and start using it just shuts down randomly (1 min-30 min).
I have wiped cache, restored to factory already. Currently I am running 5.1.1 with no modification at all.
Any suggestion to bring it back to life is appreciated.
Replace the battery and I think it will work without any issues.
Nitin
Most likely the battery is dead.

Perhaps my Nexus is showing its age. . Recently, the tablet crashed after rebooting and the screen went blank and would not respond.
I rebooted but the Nexus is stuck in a boot loop, showing only the Google logo.
When I boot into recovery, my TWRP recovery loads, but does not respond to the screen touches, at all.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Ok if you can boot into fastboot than this is good. What you need to do is re flash your twrp recovery if you have backups you will most likely lose them, at this point I have no other suggestions this happened to me and by reflashing twrp and a new compatible rom with gapps should be fine.

I had a similar problem, but in my case the flex cable that connects to the screen was partly loose. You'll have to open the tablet and check it out. I suggest that before any re-flashing.
